  3. Just finished washing the S2000, cleaned the top, and applied 303 Protectant. For those keeping score I traded the 2007 Z4 for a 2012 Z4 with the big output and only 23,000 miles. Pick it up tomorrow after the ceramic coating. Been driving the S2000 and that darn thing is so sweet been rethinking selling it.

  4. OK, enough of the teaser. If you ever wondered where Justin Weber's Hudson ended up. In my house. Holy crap, that was one hell of a workout just unwrapping them. Think a total of 6 39 gallon bags of material.

  5. Cool picture @USNRET ! I always enjoyed seeing and feeling them roll in from the ocean. When you're outside a building ten, eleven stories up it was even better, except scary once when one came in real fast.

  9. I believe it is genuine (from you), for whatever reason you seem to think it's might not be. Always seem to look for the negative, but that's your choice. Her name is Jill and she is the communications manager, my wife and I know her and anyone who goes to pilgrimage had a chance to meet her. Klipsch employees get a GREAT discount on whatever they want to buy, always have and many employees have taken advantage of it. That's Jill, it's how Jill is every time you talk with her, It's not made up for an interview. This Is Jill at Pilgrimage petting one of Rodney's dogs, with probably 100 other people there, it's just for proof I didn't make this up. The whole thing is really a promotional stunt to get people to sell their houses and buy one that fits Klipschorns, that sounds more reasonable than her story being true. I'm not upset with you at all, the insinuations just all seemed silly. I don't think Jill has even seen this picture, it's just one of many during pilgrimage.

  10. OK, fair enough! Here is a bit of MY story. I was a young paratrooper in Italy from 73-76. We had NO stuff on TV in ENGLISH during that time...so the general rule of thumb was to buy a nice audio system...and spend money on record albums...either on post or off post. There was an entity on the U.S. military bases in Europe called the USUREAR Audio/Photo agency and it sold some really nice quality stuff which was generally priced at or near ONE-HALF of MSRP! So we all went and listened to speakers and upstream equipment to decide on what we wanted to purchase...then we watched others who had bought that particular equipment...to see how much abuse it could withstand...and narrowed down our choices. The agency sold Heresy and LaScala speakers, but saw no need to put them out on the floor to be heard, since they sold out of each stash they got of them rapidly...So I never actually HEARD them. Of what I actually DID hear, the JBL 4311 monitors fit my bill. So They are what I bought! I had decided to "Go Quad" for my system, and got an H/K 900+ receiver, a Technics SL 1300 turntable, with JVC (Audio-Technica) CD-4 quad cartridge and additional head shell with Sure M91ED cartridge installed....along with a TEAC A2340-R reel deck, two Soundcraftsman stereo equalizers, one DBX II model 124 quad Noise reduction unit, and a Technics RS-676-AUS cassette deck. When I got ready to come home in 1976, I sold the JBL monitors because I had already had four JBL L-36 speakers drop-shipped to my family's home stateside in Prescott, AR.. Within a few days of arriving home, out of the Army, I went and began applying for jobs around the Hope/Prescott, AR area because I had to do so in order to draw unemployment. I had heard that Klipsch was NOT hiring, so I went there with DD Form 214 in-hand to apply for a job, and wore bib overalls with no shirt at all. When I handed my filled application to the lady behind the glass window, somebody came in behind me, excused himself to get past me, grabbed the application with DD214 copy attached...and turned and said "Paratrooper, huh?" "I was one, too!"...and told the lady I was hired!!! That guy was Bob Moers. So, I went inside and had to fill out more paperwork, they gave me a yellow Klipsch bullshit shirt, a "stolen from Paul Klipsch" coffee mug, a "stolen from Paul Klipsch" mini knife thingy, and a handful of the yellow "bullshit" buttons, and told me to be there at 0800 on Monday to start work...then Bob took me back to meet PWK...he told him I just got off active duty as an Army infantry paratrooper, Bob excused himself, and left...and PWK and I chatted for a bit while attempted to size me up, he had asked me if I knew anything about Klipsch speakers, and I told him that I had but I had never heard them. Then Bob came back in, and as we left PWK's office, PWK told him that I never heard any f the speakers...and said "Please take care of this", then Bob took me over to introduce me to my foreman, Harrison Ross, in the plant cabinet shop, who asked me about any wood-working/carpentry experience I had, and "sized me up"...then I was told I could go, but "Be sure you get here a few minutes before 0800 on Monday to clock in." On the way out, Bob suggested that I bring a sack lunch with me on Monday, because he wanted to see me during my lunch break. I STILL HAD NEVER HEARD ANY OF THE SPEAKERS, YET...but that changed Monday during lunchtime!! I literally had carpet burn on my chin from walking out of the listening room to go back to work after lunch...BECAUSE MY JAW HAD DROPPED SO MUCH WHEN I HEARD THEM! I have never wanted anything but Klipsch speakers ever since!!..and I've heard pretty much EVERYTHING ever made! I made every part for any of the speakers in current production from July 1976 to September 1983...and how to assemble them...and IF I hear any of them "with a problem", I can almost always easily tell why they have that problem and how to fix it! MOST of my time there was spent assembling Heresy and Cornwall cabinets, along with all of the Industrial models (when I had no room left to put more pallets of Heresy and Cornwall cabinets waiting to be sanded!), but I can and have built all of the speakers of that day, at one time or another!. Now you know a bit about my 66 year old self! PALS????

  15. Got another shelf “done” I am not super happy with this one so changes will be made. The quality just isn’t up to the metal Avenger collection I posted on the last page. These weren’t nearly as expensive though and they are still pretty cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Good job @dtel, did the same a couple of weeks ago with sulfur pellets, the ph in my lawn was 7.5 give or take a little in three different places. Had to try to lower it to get some of seed to take in another week or so. Those clouds might hit us soon too. My "dealer" just called and I'll be listening to a 2.1 setup by the end of the week. I've seen some good folded woofer subs near enough to me in the last year or so but nothing happening now. Just missed out on a pair of gorgeous Cornscalas I lusted for recently so going lower than 38hz with a 15" is out. Going to try another sub for at or below 20hz that I can control from my phone - gain, crossover freq., polarity, a parametric eq.... This could make my rig formidable enough to get it out into the den except not sure I want the tv six feet off the floor.

  21. I'm pretty sure ANY Klipsch employee can get them at half price, regardless of their title and position, which is way cheaper than a CAR. Either way, Jill is an exceptional woman, like my wife was, about Khorns, since she co-signed for my loan right before our honeymoon, so I could order them.

  24. What others have said, it's the only speaker brand that has given me an emotional connection to the music I listen to. I would never set and listen to music for hours with other manufactures, with Klipsch the time just seems to slip away. I love that and I love the fact that most of the products I listen to and enjoy are made right down the street from me. I tend to buy what I like and don't really care what brand it is, Klipsch is what I like and as long as they continue to give me the emotional connection to the music I love I will stay.

  25. Great story. As I was "liking" a few of the posts, I realized that we need to add an option "you missed the point" button. I might wear that one out.

  26. Maybe she got them at cost, which many companies offer to employees. Instead of just her 401K retirement fund contributions, maybe she had a Klipschorn fund she added to each paycheck? Maybe her husband has a rocking great high paying job? Maybe she is upper management at Klipsch? Maybe she has saved $$$ for the last 10 years? I say good for her. I doubt that, you seem pretty harmless. Bill

Too tall, too many arms and legs, swarming the ball handler and cold shooting everywhere. Wasn't their night but they made a good run at it.

  38. I was amazed that I received no pushback on these-I actually ordered them without telling her first. She's used to me changing components ("you said the last speakers were awesome though"). Its an expensive hobby to be sure, but its fun to hear different components. That said these are keepers- the La Scalas do everything I want in a speaker in a lively, "present" revealing way even at modest volume. The only thing I might change later is the receiver, but its working well, and updates itself by Ethernet so no issue at present. The last speakers were Focal Aria 948s- nothing intrinsically wrong with them, but the La Scalas just sound better to my ears- love dem horns. Besides the La Scalas have that cool retro feel to them....

  40. i didn't sell my house because my klipschorns wouldn't fit but back in 2015 i did pick out a ranch house plan and had it built because of a 4' wall to fit them. my wife had 3 business associates over recently and they came in and said what are those and she said speakers, my husband bought this house to to fit the speakers. one of them said thats crazy and she said NO he's crazy. best thing she ever said about me

  42. I second the choice of Parasound. I have had nothing but great experience with a number of their amps. At 98db sensitivity, it won’t take many watts to drive your speakers. I had great results with the tiny Parasound zAmp on a pair of RF-63’s.
