  2. me too. One so bad, I had to look twice to make sure. That poor woman. is it possible that speakers grow their virginity back? These have been sitting since last Oct. After playing these r15Ms a little, they're sounding better. I know I have juggled placement and the sub... but they sounded horrible when I first fired them up, again. Thinking about a significant upgrade from the Scalas.... a pair of Jubes... who doesn't? I can fit the Scalas in the doghouse lol How big of a room do you need to house them? [I know... any room you can fit them in] I was looking at my livingroom... It is 12 X 25. There would be one on one end of the room and the other at the opposite end... giant headphones

  3. Good evening to you Paul (breakfast time here ) Thanks for all the likes my friends. I neglected to add a comment about the recording which I did over in RTM. I would say excellent dynamics on the LP. The album programing with Debussy is quiet, so I cranked it up and the loud passages really were amazing!! Some pops here and there, but pretty much in UNplayed condition as far as I can tell..... I give it a 98 ..... Have a good evening/day everyone....

  4. Here is a photo of a set of Forte 3 up on a set of Skylan four post stands. Placing the centre of the mid horn at your seated ear level will make for much improved stage and image as well as an overall improved sense of visual presentation.

  9. Well my friends, it is good to get back here this weekend with a vinyl posting.... I just received this a few weeks ago and wanted to UNbox it and give it a play over in RTM. But, as always, I love sharing here as well... So here then, a purchase off eBay that was NOT sealed (rarely do I buy any USED vinyl) and giving it a listen... Started with shipment in a PIZZA BOX of all things !

  10. I'm from Arkansas and in an extreme minority in my home state...never been a Razorback fan! There are lots of colleges/Universities here, U of A is JUST ONE OF THEM! My alma mater is one of two I support in sports, but I much more enjoy high school sports...there are High School kids who KNOW they will never be in the running for sports scholarships, but who PLAY THEIR HEARTS OUT in high school, anyway! Pro sports and university sports already have too many INDIVIDUALS and not enough TEAM EFFORTS, IMHO! High school sports are a COMPLETELY different story for the most part!!

  13. No stomach problems at all except for eating too much, I can eat anything any time of the day, she says I have an iron stomach. It was good and might start on more in a little while, 3 out of 4 sacks disappeared, my favorite besides the crawfish is the sausage, mushrooms, and garlic.

  16. WOW! That is some kind of a boil with probably andouille in there with the spicy crawfish! I'd be hitting the antacid after a short while, unless a brew could calm it for me.

  19. This is a screen I built a couple years ago, I recently switched back to a TV. It is made of 2 layers of spandex material, white over black. This is for local pickup only, and it needs to be gone by next Saturday. Location is southwest of Indianapolis. It will not fit lengthwise in an 8ft pickup bed. If interested please message me to setup a time for pickup. This is the only photo I could find now that it isn't in use, ignore the alien.

  22. I have borrowed a Forte III and it is the first time I listened at Klipsch. It sounds good right out of box but maybe it’s a little bit thin at lower volumes. Do the sound be any different after some burn in?

  24. That's just me @dtel I love the spicy stuff but it doesn't love me anymore!! My guts have been ruined since they swapped out my dead liver. Heck more than that too but I'm still misbehavin'. I'm hooked on these ripe jalapenos now for the past few months, suckers have about three times the scovilles of the green ones and I can't quit `em. Ate a raw habanero once, won the $20 bill but it hurt. If I eat those red j a p s in the evening I have to eat a couple of those chalky calcium/magnesium rolaids....I still call `em maalox even though that brand is long gone.

  26. I don't mean to offend, but I would not even think about modifying a speaker in this way - particularly a current production model that may still be under warranty. So you're adding bracing to fix presumed resonances, but you're also decreasing internal volume which is apt to have all sorts of ill affects. Remember, those who engineered these speakers had every opportunity to design bracing into the design if they felt it would improve their sound. And they didn't. Before even considering this I would insist on a careful direct and blinded comparison b/w a pair so modified and an original pair - I would NOT simply take someones word that it improves the speaker. I have Cornwall III's and will admit that they sound fairly hollow and unbraced when you knock on them. Yet, I hear ZERO smearing at ANY volume and with any kind of music or test tones that could be attributable to resonances. To my thinking, adding bracing sounds like a solution in search of a problem.

  27. In the latter 1990's, I was at a BMW motorcycle rally, had gotten there fairly early...and this young lady rolled in on her F650 and "it seemed loaded for bear"...she set up her tent nearby, and walked over to the table I was at and joined me there....I asked her if she wanted a beer, and went to got one for her...came back, and we chatted for awhile. She had a European accent, and told me she was a massage therapist from Slovenia...her name was Benka Pulko…and she asked me where I was from...so I told her: North West Arkansas...Fort Smith. She told me that she intended to ride in northern Arkansas after the rally. Eventually we got to know more about each other. She was going on a round-the-world trip on her F650! And she was on the North American leg of it, but intended to go to South America next..ALL THE WAY TO ITS TIP...and if she could find somebody WILLING to do it, she intended to catch a ride to ANTARCTICA with her bike! I was totally ENTHRALLED by then! LOL! She said that nobody had ever done Antarctica on a round-the-world trip before and she wanted to do it on hers! TOO FUNNY! Well we partied some and over that rally weekend she made many friends...so we all decided to follow her trip however we could...she gave us the info on how to do it! So, long story short...she completed that round-the-world journey...to include ANTARCTICA! As is normally usual, after someone achieves "celebrity" status, negative things tend to crawl out of the woodwork about them. This also happened to Benka! I'm normally a pretty good judge of character, and can most often pick-up on whether somebody is "full of it" or not...and with Benka, I did NOT get any of those vibes at all! She had a happy and excited way about her...and I enjoyed our short time together!

  28. for those who are not Klipsch detail fanatics these are very nice and inexpensive and would look fine to bring back some bling to an older set of Klipsch missing its original badges.

  30. Sound better after break-in? Doubtful. More likely it's an acoustic issue related to your listening environment. Regarding break-in, here is what Bob Crites (noted Klipsch historian and designer/manufacturer of Klipsch upgrades and replacement components) has to say: (from his website)

  31. Yes real wood veneer on the RB-75s not RB-35s. I bought my RB-75s before I sold my RB-35s and they are indeed better overall. At 3 times the going rate in sound quality, probably not, but the rarity, heft, larger horn, 1.75 in compression driver, and real wood veneer, sold me on the 75s. Bill

  33. The Debussy I've heard on the piano my whole life has always been treasured. Any drawbacks to the digital recording @Tigerman? Have a couple of LPs that are digital but the music is totally different from the demanding aspects of an orchestral movement. Your system/s could probably be adjusted to overcome any issues though!

  40. BTW, I've found over the years that using ABF freight is very reasonable for shipping large speakers long distances! The speakers should be packed well and protected and strapped to a pallet, though! Also you will seldom get them home-picked-up...that is a DIY deal...the same for being home-delivered!
