Introducing the "KLF-510" DIY build. A mumps K510/K691 horn on top of a custom 2x12 sealed bass bin with Eminence KappaLite Neo 3012LF drivers. Active crossover with miniDSP OpenDRC 2x8. Four channels of home built IcePower amplification, one stereo at 90w/channel for the K510s and one dual mono at 400w/channel for the bass bins. I've been wanting a K510 "miniJube" horn setup since first reading about them way back in this thread from 2006. Finally bit the bullet and bought the 904-HF bundle which includes the horns, drivers and stands. My dad is in town so we spent the weekend building the cabinets. First air moving last night, and DSP tuning today. Below is a REW plot with bass extension filters active vs flat (other than Roy's 904 horn CD PEQs). Thanks to all the forum members for the inspiration, but especially @ClaudeJ1 and @Chris A from whom I've learned a ton just reading the forums over the years.6 points

Best advice I can give you is to have him bring them over to your house and have a listen. Keep the ones that sound the best in your room with your equipment.4 points

The Belles are from 1975. I was told I am the second owner. I have some of the orignal papers that the prior own had. They are the AA crossovers. You can see the condition of the speakers in the photo. The are in very good condition. The Heresy was purchased by itself and used as my center channel. Prior owner said it has a Crites crossover in it. You can see some discoloration of the grill on the Heresy. I have the matching black fabric, I was going to redo the grill. The fabric and glue will be included in the sale. I really prefer to sell them all together. I have not listed on Craigslist or Marketplace yet. I would prefer they go to a forum member, someone that will cherish them for what they are. My next set of speakers will hopefully be Palladiums. I am located near Appleton, WI. Lets be honest about shipping. It is not practical nor safe as these are fairly rare speakers. I would like to get $2400 for the set of three speakers. I feel that is a pretty fair price but you are free to tell me otherwise.3 points

I think you both are right in this. In thinking about it, I realized that I wasn't digging the black, either. And it annoys me that they have removed the tags.3 points

You sir are correct! Having grown up in the Poconos and then about 14 years all over the South Carolina, you get more accustom to your environment and your perception of what's hot/cold/humid and dry alter greatly. After being back "northish" in Ohio for 10 years, a day with 90's and 90+ humidity in Beaufort would knock me on my ***, and my temperature where shorts are appropriate has lowered back to 50. I remember my first trip to Phoenix and mocking people that said "but it's a dry heat" was I wrong, I'd rather a 95 degree day in the desert than and 80/80 for sure. Now I just get to experience the Gray as I call it, typical Ohio weather, some shade of gray, temps from 0 to 100 and the last few years, it rains a lot, which goes with the Gray!3 points

I guess it's all relative to what you're used to, and we all know how much our relatives can vary. I remember going to California when I was a kid and passing through the desert, we stayed the night. The hotel had a swimming pool with a metal fence around it and my sister and I decided to go. The only problem was the fence was so hot we couldn't touch it to work the latch, then after using a towel, we found the water was hotter than a hot tub so we went back to the room.3 points

If you look close at the ad, you will see this is the much more sought after Cornwell, not the Cornwall.3 points

One fantastic album. They just rock it. Worth it if you can find it. I could believe that guy had it but couldn't believe he had it if you can figure that one out. I had it and lost it in the shuffle to someone. I was a happy boy to see it again! Tight all the way through. Just chillin here a bit tonight. The cat is even hanging out asleep on my computer chare, which is unusual. Usually GONE!3 points

The best things that I have is due to different directions. Since the day she left, I have played with many <that's a lot) others... Although I wasn't at the time, I am glad she left.3 points

Try a pound and tell me what you think. It's the smoothest coffee I've had in a very long time. They have Kona for just a few dollars less. I haven't tried that yet.2 points

Exactly, we have friends who come down here from Indiana in the winter to go on a cruise and escape the cold. When they get here if it is in the 40's and I have a light jacket on they laugh at me as they have t-shirts on and enjoying it. Similar to when we went down to Miami in November, walking around one night it was in the low 70's, I had a tank top and all the locals had coats on, it was easy to spot the locals.2 points

Keep the Heresys. They are not as room/placement dependent as the Forte, they will look nicer in what you have shown as your room decor, and the laser badges are probably worth more than the Fortes anyway.2 points

Good advice, but......... Once the Forte owner hears how much better the Forte is than the Heresy, the trade will probably go bye-bye........... Shakey2 points

That's why you have to be careful who you listen too! Since the dumbing-down started that is the case here they show 90 as "very hot" in the pictorial diagrams, then they get the info from over 100 miles away at GSP. Lots of northerners moved here in the late 70s. Seems the weather people are all yankees now! I saw a kid I mean young and looked like he was in good shape have a heatstroke in Boston back in `96 when it was 85 degrees in late June there. Those same weather... go hysterical when a thunderstorm builds up over the river, or flurries get reported. Before they tell us a twister is coming my phone goes off... my uncle still flies (ex-Army Air Force) for the Civil Air Patrol he'll call every time and tell us to take cover because he already knows about it and he is 130 miles the other direction from us towards VA. Like @CECAA850 states the closer the temp and humidity get to each other above say 88 the more hard it is to breathe. It's like it doesn't give you what you need when you inhale. Outside a lot last week `cause stuff in the yard had to be done while it was dry, and our local weather underground stations were reporting 97 to 100 in most of them it was hot `cause I'm out of shape now, thing is the sweating, the sore back and sleeping better from being drained makes me feel great the last couple of days. Bought some beans from amazon... they ripped me off...two stickers over the roast date on the stale juan valdez cumbre. Went cheap this time, bad choice. Beans are my most important necessity. Ordered from Belux again this morning after I poured mine down the drain. If I'm lucky Atl to here will be the next day once again!2 points

trying to us up this Kona. Wife complained about it being too strong. Guess I'm trying too hard. Was noticing that when it gets 95` in the SE, it is called hot. They reserve "hot" for 100`+ here. lol It's all relative. Drove to SanDiego in June. We stopped in Yuma to fuel. Ex says, "It's hot!" it was [only] 105` and the locals were talking it being cool.2 points

You may want to create a separate post in Garage Sale. Lots of photos really helps.2 points

Hey Lyle,. I really got inspired after hearing the Jubes with you guys at Pilgrimage. What a blast! Yeah, they fit great. I basically picked the dimensions to get close to the Eminence suggested volume with a bit extra for cushion on internal parts, and then to fit exactly next to the fireplace columns. It's either here or in the garage, so I'll take it. Even wife approved.. IMG_0638.HEIC2 points

joke about a guy from here going to the midwest from here and asking how they watered all the grass. lol I had a garden at the other house. There was dirt.... Nice garden. Corn, beans, 8 or 10 varieties of tomatoes and melons. I was giving grocery bags full of beans away. Yeah, I could have put them up... they're so much better fresh. I dried tomatoes. Seemed like the right thing, given the climate. Too cold for citrus, here. We can do apples. It's different here from Amado, even. A lot colder here. Not day temps... we are in a cold air drainage and 500 feet higher in elevation. It is fresh in the AM all year. Below 70. that is cold... it was 40 - 50 this AM. Mid 80's now. You can grow a lot of things here... just add water. I have bulb flowers.. Dafs, iris -Dutch and, canna lilies, pomegranates, jujubes [Chinese date] trees, Persian lilacs in addition to the rock and... If I get a hankering for wet... there is the Buenas Aires Nat Wildlife Preserve/Arivaca Cieniga.. Cieniga is code for swamp/bog. They have boardwalks thru/around it. And some rather grand cottonwood trees. Yes... real trees. Trunk dia [at chest height] of 6 to 8 feet. Do NOT come down here in June. It is a bad month. 100`+ in Tucson, 95` here ...oppressively sunny, too.2 points

Thanks. The plan or attempt is to install the Crites K33/1526 woofer, and try two-way with the Faital Pro horn and HF140 driver.2 points

That's a tough call. Those H's you have sure are purty, but the F's look very clean other than the passive on one which may be stained or bleached from UV. Sound wise, the Forte's are the clear winner from the low end to the top, but the H's are more placement versatile like mentioned above. I don't know if I would turn loose of those H's without a more substantial upgrade to say a Chorus or Chorus II and not in black. And as good as your H's look, you're probably not but 300-400 dollars away from going to a Chorus or possible Chorus II money wise1 point
