  5. I got a pair of used La Scalas back in 2006, and joined this forum a few months later. The upgrades started soon after that... Now, in 2019, I’ve got a system beyond my dreams. In the beginning, I didn’t even know some of this stuff existed, but I’m glad to have it. As well, the connections I’ve made here have allowed me to save thousands, so no regrets there, plus it’s always great to make new friends. The sound is now so satisfying that I don’t know what I’d buy next. I wander into our few high-end shops and wander out again, with my wallet still in my pocket. It’s time to just listen and appreciate what I have, and how it can present music to me so well. Thanks, Klipsch, and thanks, Klipsch Forum!

  6. Let’s just say that if people started posting generalizations about living in the South or rural america the idea of who is being delicate would shift very quickly.

  9. FINALLY the last couple plays outta the tub! About 2 inches left but "eh, who cares." In all, I only found two that were warped and un-playable but that's to be expected I guess. They were all pretty much as he said, "played and recorded, then put away" so I'm thankful for that. I did pull a few as doubles because I know how much I've played the ones I have. A nice find and priced right. Just wish I had more time to spend initially before they were picked thru by others. It worked though! Saved this one for last cause all of mine are ugh! Back to my regular programming! Ha... NOW to put them away somehow! Ugh!

  12. anyone notice, in that sound byte from MitchMcConnell yesterday he is standing in front of a field of marijuana .... err "hemp" neighbors will be subject to WillyBob celebrating IndependenceDay. I will be here by myself.... me and the stereo.Well, after the parade. Wife is "marching". Not sure whether she is repping her school, the water co-op or both. THE road thru town will be obstructed for a few minutes. Not a big parade. Anyone can participate, I think. A friend from MT came down, a couple years ago. Was nearly the lead vehicle in the Vet'sDay parade.

  13. The Cornscalla is a fantastic speaker, the pair I built (Type C) easily out did the 2 previous pairs of Cornwalls that I have owned. I even preferred them to my old KHorns. I know the forum member that purchased my CSs was VERY happy with how they sounded!

  14. I have seen the benefits of the Loki. It’s not just an eq. It has 2db of Gain if I recall. It gives some spin on the ball as they say, that’s a good thing. The ability to pull down or boost up arenas is super helpful.

  15. Yep, I stopped that a long time ago, don't even have it anymore, I use leaves and pine straw for mulch, it's the best thing for plants in the long run. It's why the dirt is so good in a heavily wooded area, plenty of decomposed leaves and branches, nature knows best.

  16. I used to focus on building the most impressive system I could afford so that I could show off for normies. The problem was that everyone I had over couldn't care less and were never actually impressed. They thought it was neat that I had big speakers, but none of my friends or guests are audiophiles and as such won't sit for a proper listening session. So I scrapped it and tweaked my goals. I've spent the last few years pursuing really good sound reproduction that can be used for both movies and music, rather than best for XYZ budget in one discipline or the other. As a result, I've got some really nice gear that sounds really good together, handles both types of media well, and is used DAILY. I spend my time now on finding new music or movies to enjoy on the system. I could use some room treatments and maybe some additional time with REW, but overall the system sounds good and makes me happy. I don't find myself wondering about what another piece might sound like or if my system is shitty compared to other guys on the forum. I care a little bit, but generally don't.

  17. Just a hangin kinda day around here. Hotter than balls outside sooo... BUT I wasn't totally worthless and did get a few spinning. First up a lil James Gang prior to Joe's joining them in '67. Jimmy Fox and the boy's put out some good tunes by themselves but when Joe joined them they took off. It clicked! The rest is history. Bumped into him when Joe opened for Petty in Cbus. I guess it was a couple years ago and we had a few laffs. Just some more old guys watchin the youngin's TRY to get their groove on! HA! Then we go w/the ladies from 1985 and yea I should have taken it up another couple notches. Would have saved getting up and movin! lol Sept 28th up in Toledo w/Joan Jett should be interesting sooo who knows? They ALWAYS kick some A$$ when they're out cruisin around. Was gonna call it a nite BUT spied this in the tub w/my wittle eye... May as well cook it too while I'm sittin here!

  20. What do you all consider to be a five star album, where most every song is very good or excellent, AND the recording is audiophile quality as well? I'll start: Band On The Run, Paul McCartney, released 1973 (This recording is good enough to demo your system.) There are certainly others, but this album came to mind first.

  21. My name is Gary...and I have a problem. I rarely check in the site anymore because I always find something I want to go buy. I have plenty of good equipment. I listen regularly. I also want a luxman, parasound, schiit freya and vidar monoblocks or the new class A monoblocks. McIntosh ... plus maybe a mohican cd player. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

  22. When I lived in Memphis ('75-'80), I tried to get Sam Phillips to sell me a 1 inch 8 track Ampex they still had. He wouldn't sell, which was probably a good thing for me. The first studio I recorded at used Scully 4 track machines.

  26. Some of these stories are like a repeat of my life. I was into music long before ever joining Klipsch Forums. My Phase linear and Onkyo 504 amps kept kicking out on my infinity RSiiiB speakers and it was damn aggravating to say the least. So I went on a seek and destroy mission and happened on the forums. I did not know what a forum was, I had never posted a single line on the net, barely knew how to use a pc. That was in 2004, I learned my speakers were the issue dropping down to below 2 ohms and tripping safety. I promptly sold the infinity that I loved and had lusted after for many years. I bought Cornwalls and was blown away so much so I bought Herseys, placed on top ran in parallel Willie Nelson was standing in my room playing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" Even my Dad was impressed. Then I get the invite to Gary MD's House for a listen to K-Horns and Tubes.....................I went home opened the rabbit hole and dove in head first, I went on a mission that has spanned all these years. I have had I would bet 50+ different amps, Several Pre-Amps, Countless source components, Every speaker in the heritage line SEVERAL times over, except Chorus, Fortee and Jubilee. I have just now 15 years later & untold thousands of $$ decided its time to set back and enjoy / Listen. As many here I have made friends and gained untold amounts of knowledge. "What a Long Strange Trip it's Been" Though worth It IMHO.....................

  33. Those top-loader La Scalas are from the mid-Seventies or earlier. My 1974 LSes are like that. If you want handles for easy moving, one member posted a good method. He mounted a pair of handles on the back side, out of sight. Then he attached a pair of rollers to the lower back, with the wheels a fraction of an inch above the floor. To move the speakers, he just tilts them back until the wheels make contact with the floor, then he easily rolls them away.

  34. I came here almost 8 years ago. Just asking for some set up help with my new to me Best Buy Icon speakers. Those didn't last long after the RF7II buying frenzy I saw in here. And then I discovered that 8 letter word "Heritage" and got the bug again. Stumbled upon a deal on some Belle's and have been content ever since......NO MORE SPEAKERS! I would like to hear some tube gear someday, but I know that would just open up another rabbit hole...
