  3. I have no idea what cannabis has to do with the price of tea in china. But probably more than what it has in common with the quote that you quoted me. That being said thanks for the information. Im not that interested in that topic. But I did find some of that interesting ๐Ÿ‘ Man I don't even think In ten years on this forum I have ever posted the word cannabis. Dude your asking the wrong guy. I don't know anything about cannabis studies. Sorry

  13. === similar to my situation. Our Lennox was built in 1985, still runs extremely strong, and cold. The A-coil was replaced about 12 years ago under a home warranty when we bought the house. Been flawless since. Have had more than one knowledgeable person(s) see the unit and comment โ€œpray it keeps on going, they make nothing close to that quality these daysโ€. Iโ€™ll ride this bugger until there are no options left to keep it going, SEER ratings be damned. Iโ€™ll trade a few extra $ a month in electricity vs. $8K for a new unit. โ€” one another note, there is a HVAC company in our area touting Daiken products. Offers are full 12 year warranty, parts/labor โ€”

  14. Vaping had not been being DONE long enough for the long term health risks to be known! But I'll tell you ONE FACT!! NO Human has ever died from smoking too much cannabis! None!! Name One Death 100% attributable to smoking too much cannabis! Can't, right? Medical scientists ran a meta-study comparing chronic tobacco smokers to chronic cannabis smokers looking for increased rates of lung cancers in cannabis smokers as we KNOW happens in tobacco smokers, and you know what they found? Not only did the cannabis smokers NOT have a higher incidence of lung can cers than even the general population, but a slightly LOWER rates of lung cancers than even the general population!! And WE KNOW WHY NOW TOO! THC actually induces cancer cells to undergo a normal cellular process called apoptosis or CELL SUICIDE!! So tell me all the factual things YOU know about cannabis! I know LOTS!! Not only am I am RN I'm also a Cannabis Nurse! John Kuthe...

  22. Wait a minute, I thought every red blooded American did a little speeding every once in a while. Can't you always get by with 5 over and 99% of the time get by with 10 over? I don't know how that happened but I didn't say that. BUT my wife does not like me to drive so I don't unless I have to, don't enjoy it anymore anyway. She says I sight see to much as I drive and do tend to drive with other traffic which means speeding usually. And she does the standard 5 over and it's worked well so far, especially since most cars are passing her. Your right I probably tend to drive to fast, now that I think about it. Now if I had a fun car to drive it would be a different thing, but now for me I just want to get there, I'm past the sports car thing, had many over the years, I was into little 2 seater convertibles.

  25. I'm new to the forum and looking for information/advice. I just picked up a pair of 1985 Cornwall II at a garage sale, cheap! They need some TLC, but the cabinets are in good shape. Still have the serial # and inspection certificate on the back. And, amazingly, the paper woofers are intact! So . . . general question about your experience with the model, how much they might be worth, and if there is a replacement woofer since they probably won't last much longer. Would like to replace them without negating the value of the speaker as an intact original. Thanks for any help and advice! JA

  26. We've been discussing this. Specifically @garyrc @Mallette and several others immediatly recognized the situation and suggested adding a sub. I suggested speakers with bigger woofers. Gary the others may be right on this. I've been listening all weekend to the RP-600M with a 15" sealed sub in a 2.1 setup. I have to tell you the sound was impressive compared to the RF-83's which are my current mains. The characteristic sound was very close between the two speakers. To rule out the power advantage the Marantz 6011 125 wpc has over the Yamaha with 80 wpc I ran the 6011 in Eco mode, which means the power gets choked to 40 wpc. The 600M didn't seem to care, they still sounded big and dynamic. Another place I was wrong is now that I am doing critical listening there is no question the sub added depth to everything I listened to which was TV to some horn oriented jazz via Youtube. If those 160's are even close in sound to my 600M then the speakers are not the problem. My next step is to pull the 15" sub and then add the 10" Paradigm in a 2.1 and do some more listening. This time with the classical genre @Man in the Box suggested.

  28. Dave, I went to a ton of shows in the 70's and as many as I could in the 80's but Pink Floyd was never one of them๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข or Gilmour for that matter, just never was close enough or had the funds to make it happen. If you a have go to lp...that's one to have!!! My problem...to many go to records, and you play most of them! Cheers

  30. Gilmour just KILLS this and it's stuck! Maybe it's because I was row 10 center in Cleveland for the tour and enjoyed them so much! The walk down onto the floor of the old stadium was fantastic! My EX sister in law kept saying, "We're not down here. Are you sure you know where you're going?" Yes, I'm sure. Come on. After about the 3rd time I just stopped and told her to STFU and come on or go find another seat. I got this OMG appalled look from everyone! At that point in time, it made my life complete! My first rodeo? It's where I always sit or close. I HATE having a "go to" LP but... Yea, what a great show! lolol Wait, did I mention how great of an album this was? ๐Ÿ˜‚

  31. I don't think this is correct, unless something has changed since I last vaped about 5 years ago. I researched it quite a lot. The ingredients are propylene glycol, artificial flavors and nicotine. Propylene glycol is the same stuff they use in the fog machines at rock concerts. Not only has it been used for decades in this context, but it has been tested for short-term acute exposure in rats, etc. Based on the tests, there has been no cause for alarm. Of course, 30-year studies don't exist, so all we can do is speculate and argue about something we know nothing about in that regard. So, enjoy arguing about something you know nothing about... As for my experience, I would highly recommend it in lieu of smoking cigarettes. I smoked cigs for 30 years. It was really starting to take a toll on me. I refused/could not (you can choose) go cold turkey, so I tried vaping. It made a noticeable difference. Even though I vaped, the inflammation in my lungs was going away. I started breathing easier. The difference was clear. After a year of vaping, I gave it up. In the vaping context, you can control the nicotine levels. I tapered it down until it wasn't very strong. Then, in the fall when I got a bad cold and sore throat, I had to stop vaping for a few days. At that point, I just gave it up. It was easy to do. Vaping does have its problems, though. I noticed it gave me periodic mouth ulcers. In researching it, I found other people complaining of the same thing. The pro-vaping crowd blamed the ulcers on smoking cessation. They had some mild proof to back up their claims. Once I quit vaping, I no longer had the ulcers, so I think maybe it had something to do with vaping, as opposed to quitting cigs. It is possible 30 years of vaping might prove deadly. However, 1 year of vaping got me permanently off of cigs.

  34. When I was (??) maybe 7 years old? Old enough to leave Mom in the car to go play on the slide before the movie began. There are several other children doing same. I got in line for the slide and as I recall, there were literally a number of kids waiting. So we inched forward...stood, waited...inched forward...got to ladder...waited....walked up a run....waited... one of those things. As it happens, there was a "young girl" (ha, given my age at the time) anyway, there was a young girl in front of me on the ladder, so she was above me. No big deal. It also happens that she was wearing a dress. No big deal. As I was climbing the ladder behind (under) her, I looked up to keep a grasp on handles & footpads... well.... here I was, maybe 7 years old, looking up. Turns out she wasn't wearing ANYTHING under her dress. WHAT??? So yes, my eyes were corrupted at a very young age.... what made it memorable (or to be more accurate, NON-forgettable) is not only was she not wearing any undergarments..... turns out she had a full on case of diaper rash and I got a complete inspection (unintended) of it from about 18 inches away. I don't recall much more of that evening but I probably went running back to the car, crying or something. I was horrified at what the future was evidently going to have in store for me. Heck it's still probably the cause of all my nightmares.

  36. I have been given, by a group of forum members- a Juicy Music Audio Merlin preamp, an all tube preamp... My late wife and I enjoyed it during her last days, and I continue to enjoy it. It was an unbelievable gesture from folks on this forum. I recenlty recieved, from an unknown member, a couple BM-D750 drivers that I currently use on a pair of LaScalas, but will be used on horns paired with some MWM bass cabs. The generosity and, if I may be so bold as to say -- love, of members of this forum really is like no other forum. I can never thank them enough. I don't even know who some of them are, but they must know my sincere appreciation of their unbelievable generosity. Bruce

  37. Brisket in the smoker. This is the larger one I bought on sale. The smaller one turned out great, so much so that I might keep looking for smaller ones in the future. Todays is a 10 1/4 pounder. Both passed the flexibility test or they would not have been purchased.

  42. Don't mix Best Buy's entry level Reference with Reference Premier. Save up and get all Reference Premier if at all possible. That's just the nature of them, they're kind of one note wonders compared to other subs, they aren't going to dig super deep. You're going to get a ton of output around 50 hz or so but 20-25 probably not so much and it's not going to be super tight. Kinda gotta spend more to get what you're looking for, these are extreme entry level. Setup can be a factor too, I mean, doesn't really matter what subs you have, if you're sitting in a null and try to EQ your way out of it, it's going to sound horrid.
