  1. Sold my Khorns 13 years ago but now I have some again thanks to the “alert” thread here in the Garage Sale section. They are KBR 1979 vintage.

  3. I think that is called whistling. What makes you think that is how it was done? Was there a documentary?

  4. This will take me to when I hit the sack tonight. Now that I've had to turn it down I can still be pleased that the sound pressure, the nuances of every stanza are kept intact by my Klipsch. ^^ Super Clean Recording ^^

  8. I know what you are talking about, but you will have to prove that the pros did it that way for the soundtracks. A real whistler can do amazing things. Now, as for the controversy, my hypothesis is that the Englishman may have whistled it for the cover version, while Andressoni whistled the film version.

  9. Put a hinge on the end of a couple of 2 by fours, and attach handles to the outsides of the boards. Easy, cheap, and effective instant whip percussion.

  10. The Whistler...😍have been whistling themes since subject arose here. Worth imitating the bullwhip crack with this useless elm wood lying around. She kept the whip.. 😥

  11. This is the extent of what I have found. There seems to be a controversy over the actual artist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Good,_the_Bad_and_the_Ugly_(soundtrack) https://slippedisc.com/2017/03/the-man-who-whistled-up-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/

  12. Hit the ground runnin' this AM. Had laundry to run, the fluffy cumulus clouds are looking a little heavy. Went to the dump. I needed to go earlier this week, but we don't like going there when it's sloppy mud. stopped at the market on my way back. Vine ripened tomatoes! Bought 2. Ate one while I was talking to the gal selling them. Ate a pepper, too. Someone wanted to know if they were hot. No. She gave me the pepper and another tomato. She was here in the early 70's... left and came back We had some laughs.... the "good ol' days". Before pavement

  13. My main regret is that there was never a saved recording produced for the film "For a Few Dollars More," it also uses whistling and to me is a better overall soundtrack.

  14. Turn your hands so they oppose each other at 90 degrees, put them together, put the "outside" of your thumbs together. Blow between the gaps of your thumbs and raise/lower the fingers of one hand to make the unique whistling noise that was used for this music The trumpet part finishes it off very nicely and gravel-ly!

  18. He spent this July claiming his coaching staff was much better after losing two assistants to Ohio State. He ripped Urban Meyer and then he picked his team to win the Big Ten. But now the second-highest paid coach in the nation has lost three consecutive lopsided games to Power-five opponents dating to last season - 62-39 to Ohio State, 41-15 to Florida in the Peach Bowl and 35-14 to Wisconsin on Saturday (after wins over Middle Tenn State and Army). And Wolverine fans just had to love seeing his Downy Fabric Softener commercials on the Fox Sports telecast during Saturday’s loss. But I do understand why Jim Harbaugh got that particular endorsement. In big games, his team really is Downy soft. by Jeff Snook USA Today Pass the pepper please.

  19. Thanks @oldtimer simple deductive reasoning. We all imitated it perfectly in unison the first time we saw it. Used our hands like that and blew through them. @billybob you don't do that at the theater do you?

  20. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! It's a completely different thing and like when my hands grew and I could not do it anymore it could be individual to each guy. In the woods or big pastures you could tell who was who by the sound of that "signal" Strategically used by us as ten year olds. Tsk, tsk, tsk

  23. A good whistler uses diaphragm control and tongue and lip movements for vibrato, no hands needed.

  24. Sure glad she didn't use that on me... thanks

  25. Because when my hands could do that at 8-12 years old we did that all of the time around here. The same exact sound way before any of us ever saw that Spaghetti Western on a rainy Saturday in B&W!! Two Mules For Sister Sarah was a great one too, except that few flute notes throughout the film is aggravating to me!

  27. Where's he going? I mean seriously sports fans??? Wisconsin just keeps putting points on the board. 35 now. Geez. Nov 30th up North the fans may start leaving after halftime instead of mid-way thru the 3rd quarter like they did last time we visited up there. @JohnJ Now THAT's salting the wound brother! 😂

  32. that's one thing I really miss living in the desert. I can go to the lake and catch 9in bluegill. Those fillet. That's the best I can do. There is another lake. I guess it's about 75 miles and you have to pay to use it... StatePark. You can get catfish and crappie in addition to gills.

  34. from What About the Morgans? PETA stand for People Eating Tasty Animals topless? I'm for equality... Unfortunately, most who will take advantage are the ones who really don't have the "physique" for it. the weather models have come to some form of agreement. Both say we are going to get some rain. How much is a mere matter of magnitude. One calls for 1/2 -3/4in. The other calls for 2 or 3inches. 3 inches of widespread rain will cause some inconveniences. This storm is sposed to go into next week. They say that we might get some rain starting tomorrow... and here ain't Tucson. That 45 miles away. 5 miles makes a difference.

  37. Kimbers don't exist anymore. Sledgehammers are junk - the steel laminate plates slide. Thetas don't come in 1.5uF. Arizona Blue is a hermetically sealed, oil filled, paper and polyester film and foil. I use a lot of them.

  41. Well I veneered the outside of mine and before I put the veneer on I put some screws in the joints also. That eliminated all fluctuation of side walls. Before I cloud make side walls move with just my hands. Now I can put knee and both hands on other side and not hardly make them move. Wished I had video it but I didn't. I can video the way they are now if someone wants video a stock pair flexing. I know before they flexed pretty easily mine are from 1980.

  42. Heading into my late 50's and have been dealing with worsening 'Tinnitus' for the last few years. Have heard abundant horror stories regarding dozens of different hearing aid appliances. Very seldom is there a 'success' story, yours sounds like one of the few I've heard. Would it be improper to ask the make and model of your appliances?
