Last week I did another DVD-Audio disc search. Spent hours looking at bands I'd never heard of, reading reviews of the recordings mostly in any format other than DVD-A and bought 2. The first is truly a gem! Its the Klipsch Tape Reissues, Vol II. The Joe Holland Band is recorded live. The DVD-A version is breathtakingly real. Ear Candy for a jazz lover! It's dynamic. The cymbals are perfection. Skin drum heads. Air sounds with the clarinet. All those evenings in bars listening to the real thing quickly come to mind, especially parts of Naw'lins. Sit back with your favorite evening beverage and enjoy!6 points

One year when we grew alot of tomatoes I decided to make sauce. I never did it from whole peeled tomatoes only so I thought just cook it down ? Well what I did not know was if you cook it long enough until most of the juce/water is removed to about the consistency of a good sauce it gets really strong. It was good but very strong in flavor, a little more and i would have made tomato paste. It was good but almost concentrated. .4 points

Thinking Oysters? Oh must be talking about the ones on either side of the back bone, nice. The chicken neck spaghetti sauce was derived from cooking the necks until the meat left the bones with little help. He described it to me as a delicacy, peasant dish that was not well known. Slow cooking of the sauce essential. Sister came close to cooking his recipes. I have tried over time. Another is his Muscatouli Italian sausage... Going to eat breakfast now.😊4 points

Up for sale are a pair of Oiled Oak Belles, 1987. Not sequential S/N, but close (sequential weeks?). In good shape. Crossovers replaced with ALK's. Second owner, I have had them for about 15 years. Well cared for. The pictures show the story. The speaker wires in the pics I will keep; I just didn't disconnect them. $2250.00 for the pair. Also for sale is a custom oiled oak subwoofer enclosure. This was created to complement the oak Belle look. It originally held Velodyne a 12" subwoofer. I subsequently put a cosmetically challenged R115SW in the enclosure. The sub functions as it should. The exterior had nicked edges and a damaged screen, There are 4 drawers remotes, etc. $500.00 OBO for the sub and enclosure. Any Interest?3 points

Here's a trick my wife the canning guru uses when working with whole tomatoes.....Wash and core the tomatoes, place in freezer bags and freeze thoroughly. When ready to use, thaw the bags in the sink, and the tomatoes will give up a lot of liquid, and be easy to peel.3 points

Apparently he was wrong, your still alive. My grandfather lived to be 90 eating that every morning cooked in lard and smoking cigarettes. That said it was a cheeseburger fatty, so what the cardiologist will probably eat perfect, exercise and die from something to do with stress from his bills from his younger wife.3 points

looks like a cardiologist’s dream. when my kid was about six years old and in the hospital, my wife & I went out to breakfast one morning. when we returned the doctor asked what we ate. I said eggs, sausage, and hash browns. He abruptly said, “You’re not going to live to see 40.”3 points

Dudes! All mediums have major drawbacks. And that's just the start. Then there is the whole recording process, or lack thereof. And that's just one aspect of this hobby. The real problem is that this hobby has too many fussbudgets involved in it. Music, at the end of the day, attracts us because of what it imparts... ...feeling. So let the feeling flow, put aside the fiddly bits for awhile , drop the needle, cue up the tape, click on the zeros and ones, or grab the nearest instrument, and when your eyes close focus on the feelings. Hell, I've never felt happier than when I'm badly and unconsciously whistling to myself a tune or even just some odd notes. It's all good brothers and sisters! Yup. That's right. Follow the Thebes philosophy and we may never need argue over audio again. But then again...3 points

Along with the chicken's neck (which my Dad and I fought over) we also chewed and sucked on the feet. That was a very long time ago. Sound's yucky now but food was short and it tasted good. Nine in the family-nothing was wasted.2 points

Don't know if was right or not but I put them in boiling water for about 10 seconds then on a tray to cool, the peelings just slid off after that. I cooked about 25 and did what you said with the rest in freezer bags to use later. There was to much liquid with the fresh ones, freezing first could have helped. That was part of why I cooked the sauce so long which made it strong. I never canned any, just froe gallon bags and added to sauce at different times. Even now when making sauce I start with a gallon of sauce and a gallon of whole tomatoes, I like the pieces and thickness of the whole tomatoes. I need to remember that2 points

Rebuilt a pair of Chorus I for another member a few years back. Toyed with the idea of using the mid horn from the II but was working on a budget. It would have been nice to try since we built the cabinets from scratch. I too prefer the front ports to the rear passive, but would assume the the tractrix horn would be an improvement. Sounded very nice when done.2 points

Well I ended up not buying it because it didn't do exactly what I wanted it to do. It does allow you to use your phone as a remote through the PlayFi app....but that's it. You can't use the Amazon Music app to navigate the site like you can with Spotify. Basically, you can use it as a remote with your playlists but that's it......can't look for new/old music, artist info etc. The guy that was helping me out enlightened me that what I need/want is something like 'Roon'. Unfortunately Amazon music does not have a deal with Roon.....yet. Hopefully it will happen soon. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk2 points

The wait is OVER! I now know what I have! Turntable looks great, runs but needs a new drive belt for sure then we'll give it a test run and see what happens. Hmmmm, I think I owe the UPS store that was used a BIG solid. Picked these up @ auction for $55. The auctioneer said they had the original boxes which was a plus as did the Thorens TD-160. Welllll, the turntable did but the speakers didn't so I must have begged well when I talked to them about shipping. Shipping? Well that's ANOTHER story but factored into the big picture I made out like a bandit. Shipped Tuesday and arrived here today. I posted the speaker pics a week ago in the Vinyl Record Spinning thread but had no clue since no tag pics. We all kinda had ideas what they were. MAYBE! We were ALL wrong! Sweet old pair of KG4's. I mean Klipsch for $55? Ya just CAN'T walk away from that! Yet to test run but no reservations, especially when the old guy that owned it had a stylus guard on the cartridge. Should be sweet for that lil college girlie of mine! Now WHERE is that stinking cat??? She's not gettin these! NOW where do I put them? Ugh!2 points
