  7. .... o O (Coffee good) but getting there (this morning) caught me off-guard.... I mean, the weather is perfect... somehow I overslept, had 30 minutes to get to work, made a modified 1 1/2 instead of 2 cup's... then the cat kept messin' with me, doing that thing like - where's mine... so I grabbed his bowl off the counter, (boom) it stuck me, cat's don't drink coffee... and luckily I returned the coffee pot to the maker, got the cat food for the cat... then got me a good full cup of coffee... and the rest is History !

  11. Agenda for the day go to the store. Almost out of drugs. Tobacco and coffee beans. Wonder what we have for a selection. They're all good. I'm not crazy about dark roasts and tend to steer away from FrenchRoast and CapeHorn. CapeHorn is a DARK roast and if you are in the mood, is excellent Have to get the wife to the airport tomorrow AM.... We need to be out of the house at 5AM.She changes planes in Dallas.... to a regional carrier. I suggested she get assistance getting from A - B there. Only an hour between flights. Last time I was there, faced a similar deal. And I was most happy for being escorted. If I had been a healthy young OJ Simpson, I would not have made the connection. wife asked if I wanted her to bring anything back... "No. Anything I want would be too big, heavy or electronics". do ya think the airlines would be OK toting a pair of KHorns?

  12. Speaking of the group Heilung, this piece, to be played on ones main system, at volume for the full effect. The bass impact from the drums, should make your speakers come alive in a very joyful way. 👍

  14. Just reading a story on my news feed about a local lad and his amazing guitar https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-16/australian-wins-global-guitarist-award-with-unique-sound/11603362 Redland Bay is about 20 kms from me 🖖 In short A Queenslander could soon be seen alongside guitar greats like Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, and Slash after taking out a global guitar award with his unique sound. Redland Bay resident Dylan Reavey was recently awarded the 2019 Guitarist of the Year in London. The competition, run by music magazine Music Radar, saw hundreds of guitarists enter their best performances from around the globe.

  21. The HIII sounds much better than the HII. The upgrade kit was designed to take the II to the III. If they still have them, the part number for the kit is 1006972 You get a new tweeter, new mid/squawker driver, new woofer, and of course the crossover. The kit used to run $300 per speaker.

  25. I would bet some day there will be a shortage of boudains, since so many of those parts have been removed. Depending on the college campus or city we could get in trouble for even putting a label on either, Boudain dysphoria. .

  26. The food at the wedding was great, all locally made by a friend of the groom, plus an open bar, there were a few casualties by the end of the night. The place is called Acadian Village, 32 acres of cabins from the 1800's. http://acadianvillage.org/ The little church in the village, the wedding party about to go in. The next pic is a little ways down the path the place for the reception, it was cool which was good because inside was crowded and the tables outside were full also. Very nice wedding.

  29. Interesting....this from 2009; a thread with a post by "khorn51": "I have a few old khorns ( call it 7 ) and the best sounding stock twetter to me is theJensen RP-302 used on my 51. I thik they only used it on some 51's. I dont know why klipsch stoped using it might have been cost and very few recodings back then used the high info this tweeter could put out. The university tweeter is ok sounding but I would pick the t35 over it, but theres not that big of a diffrence. I use the orig crossovers in most of my 50's Khorns and have found all them still up to spec. Te old large can caps rarely leak or driff out of spec. If someone is making new crossovers that are the same specs as the 50's one thats news to me as the 60's and later are at diffrent points do the the metal mid horn bass slot ect. I like the way the older horns sound over newer ones. I have done a lot of a b using the top from my split lascals with new and stock a/ aa crossovers. the 51 is the smoothest sounding and my number one pic. If you have the trousonic 15's dump them and send them to me,I'll send you some new k33." and he later added this one: "R P 302’s can be really big $$ if the seller knows what it is. The ones Klipsch used were the gold ones with the bullet shaped cover with bracket for mounting to the mid horn.. looks just like this one in link below" http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hifilit.com/hifilit/Jensen/RP302-2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hifilit.com/hifilit/Jensen/Jensen.htm&usg=__Gj4hTpf7_Tr4iY3jGHV9mHCwmas=&h=813&w=1250&sz=179&hl=en&start=4&um=1&tbnid=MUiBUV88TNOi9M:&tbnh=98&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Djensen%2Brp%2B302%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26um%3D1 Here's a better link:

  30. Educated does not equal intelligent, only persistence. An advanced degree is admirable but does not guarantee intelegence nor common sense. That being said MDF has it's place in speaker construction as well as plywood and other materials.

  32. I am surprised no enquiring minds on here have jumped the gun on an H4 mod, yet... It would be no great feat to cut a rectangle for the port in the back of the cabinet and BAM... Roy’s your uncle! I was really leaning hard on the H3 conversion for my H2’s as well until this latest, greatest version came out. Now my horizon is cloudy on that. It is always time well spent, but all that cheese could go to better cables... LOL!

  34. Looks like "beautified" originals to me. That vertical strip is most likely there to conceal previous damage to the "peak" of the "roof" of the doghouse section of the bass horn lens. Whoever did the beautification of those basic LaScalas did a very good job of it, from what I can see. Congratulations!

  41. Small rooms have significant issues activating/filling up all the below-Schroeder-frequency room modes to even out the infrasonic and deep bass response due to the relative density of room modes as room dimensions decrease. So having multiple subwoofers will definitely allow the activation of all the deep bass room modes via placement of the subwoofers at the nodes and anti-nodes of those room modes. It also significantly decreases the required motion of the woofer diaphragms (square root of 2 reduction in maximum displacement for every doubling of the diaphragm area or horn mouth area of the subwoofers in-room). Geddes' and Toole's method of increasing the number of subwoofers in-room is a good approach. Your ears are younger than mine, and your listening room is quite a bit quieter (and no doubt due to your extensive acoustic treatments) so a lower noise floor is probably desirable in your case. My room, perhaps not so much, and only if my middle ears happen to be clearer than usual because there aren't threshold levels of offending pollen/mold spores in the air. Chris

  43. By the way, the Danley cinema MEH designs all have 90 x 60 degree coverage angles...and the Jericho horn (largest auditoriums) has a 90 x 40 degree coverage. This is almost twice the horizontal coverage of the SH-50, which in my experience, the real limitation of using SH-50s in a home theater application--the horizontal coverage of the SH-50 is a bit too narrow for anything but the narrowest of home theaters. 44. How do you identify which version of 402 you have? I bought mine used in 2017, but I think the seller had them for a year or less. That’s just a guess, though. It would be good to be sure.

  46. I came across a listing for the KG 5.5 speakers. I 'd never heard of this model before. I did some research. It appears they were produced between 1994 and 1996. User reviews are quite positive: they seem to have a lot of power (they are very loud), especially in the low frequencies, so you don't need a subwoofer. Some say they are the best speakers they ever had, while others say they are lacking in the midrange frequencies, esp. when compared to the Heritage Line. Agree? Looks like they are the precursor of the Reference line?

  47. I use one of these to attenuate the signal for the amplifier channels driving my K510s. It is very transparent, using a very nice ALPS 27 pot. Has both balanced and unbalanced connections. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXC9HHW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
