  1. This is a forum whose primary purpose is the sharing of information. That is what I've done. As mentioned previously, I've met them in person. They are die-hard Klipsch fans. I enjoyed my conversation with them as I typically do with others that share my interest in audio and Klipsch speakers. I think they do great work, like that they are bringing old Klipsch speakers back to life, and hope that they do well enough to keep their business going. I shared their photos here because of their outstanding work and figured others here would also enjoy seeing them (if not owning them). I'd have to assume I was correct because as of today this thread has been viewed over 14,000 times. 🙂

  4. The dollar amount wasn't revealed yet, but I'm sure it's more than a billion. I like him, but I'm not sure about the owner also having a team in the series that he owns? He owns the track, IndyCar series, and IMS Productions. He did say they will utilize the facility for more than racing. The Stones were there a few years ago, maybe a bunch of concerts!

  6. i don’t have access to photos unless they’re on my phone. probably in a box in a storage container. would love to post one that was taken showing only my and my st bernard's silhouettes as we were sharing a popsicle. Just like me, Thor did what we wanted. He wasn’t disciplined. Jumped through the front window screen when he saw the mailman approaching the front door, alerted me when the smoke from the neighbor’s fireplace was in our yard. He bit through a power cord and just shook his head when the shock came. Laid on the patio and ate the stucco off the house. First day i met my mother in law, (we didn’t meet under the best of situations so i definitely had to win her over). she comes to the house and Thor runs though the mud and puts his muddy paws on her chest -- ruining her expensive silk blouse. She looked at me and said, “You owe me a new blouse.” I made her a grandmother instead.

  8. that's the object. We are concentrating "hemp" oils the Everclear dissolved. RSO is a folk remedy for cancer. We are taking a multifaceted attack to the problem. If nothing else, it relieves side effects of conventional treatment... radiation, chemo.... Everclear is a food safe solvent

  9. Yes. The 348/409 (center photo), as well as the 427 variant of that engine, can be easily recognized by the unusual valve covers. The small block has the exhaust ports of the two center cylinders in each bank close together, whereas the 396/427 big block has the exhaust ports evenly spaced.

Other than that ‘all things in moderation’. đŸ„ I’ll sent you a five lb bag of the good stuff (Dutch Or German licorice) in exchange for a few of your hand writing samples. Only requirement is that you have to consume it all in five contiguous days, or less. Also, you’ve got to wait until I have you heavily insured with me as sole beneficiary. Double indemnity if you have the big one. I of course, will pay the cost of shipping too.😉 Wb

  15. Not exactly sure, but I think the "My friends and I , saved all our cash, to buy a 409, to take to the track...." engine was a punched out 283?? Either way...if they DID "take it to the track", it probably blew on the third run at the strip!...unless they were VERY LUCKY! Heads just DID NOT want to stay on that damned thing when you got really serious about using the throttle!! ME?, I would really like someday to throw a 460 Chevy truck motor outta an old dump truck or whatever...and into a 1950's Studebaker pick-up! I mean, it ain't no hot rod engine as is, but it makes a crapload of torque!...at fairily low RPMs! I could pull just about anything around with it with little real strain on it! I could easily see myself in something like this with that engine under the hood:

  16. Studebakers were special. I love the Avant design. It's a real shame they left so early. That Packard looks cool enough to me. Never needed a car to be a chick magnet anyway...hehe lol. That's what being a drummer was for.

  18. when my sister worked in an ER, they played a joke on the cardiologist on call. some guy comes into the ER and they page the cardiologist. he arrives in the ER, goes in to exam the guy and comes out, quite upset and says, “He has a banana stuck up his butt.” ER staff says “bananas are high in potassium and too much potassium is bad for your heart, so we thought this could turn into a cardiology issue." She also told of this mean doctor that was rather short. He went on a rant one day and my sister held her hand a few inches above his head and said, “You must be at least this tall to work in the ER." She and I are the only ones left in the family with a healthy sense of humor.

  24. That should be Buffalo Airways out of Hay River, NWT. May explain why the landing gear didn't fully deploy. They fly some pretty old planes, or did, when I used to fly up way north from just the north. Best Canadian made reality tv series show on the Weather Channel here is 'Highway Through Hell'. It may have a different name here in the USA (with the not made here syndrome) though. For more HTH info, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_Thru_Hell Wb

  27. The 265 became 283 in 1957 which became 327 in 1962 which became 350 in 1967 which became 400 in 1970, with minor variations in displacement at various times during that period. The current LS V8s were influenced by the early small block V8 but they are not direct descendants. The 409 was a truck engine derived from the 348. It was completely different from the legendary small block or the later big blocks.

  28. Sorry, double post...for some weird reason! Anyway...I gotta get off of here and do my "Today's Sunday afternoon chore of" putting a UBR Gen II stock on a Ruger SR-762...and time's a wasting! Gotta be at the range early in the morning to finish-up the iron-sight zero at 200...then throw the scope on it tomorrow afternoon...zeroing it on Tuesday morning at the range! Beto is history...and I have things to do now!...while he basks in his own whiney stupidity! 😉

  29. My Lark VIII had a "2-speed automatic" with overdrive option...one helluva passing gear, too! Just an oil-bath air cleaner atop a 2 bbl, though! It was still good for a solid 90+ mph top speed though!...just took it awhile to get there, the couple of times I did it! It was a mechanically-sound vehicle the whole time I had it...no engine problems at all! It just purred right along! One mechanical issue though...the right front spindle broke...it was a weird thing....I had been parking it in the same spot for almost a year in the college parking lot...and it had no hubcaps on it...somebody must have knocked the spindle grease cap off somehow...and there I was...freezing rain...with a CAR LOAD of people wandering around outside of town looking for a "free" poor specimen of a tree to decorate for Chrismas...and all of a sudden I heard some squeaking, then a "SNAP"! Off to the ditch alongside the road went my right front wheel and tire...GEEZ! SO, I hollered at everybody in the car to get as far over to the left side as possible...because we were in trouble...I let the car coast to a stop...everybody got out...there was a closed country store about 100 yards ahead on my right...so three of my passengers sat on the left rear fender...and I slowly got to the store and got it parked, and slid a concrete block under the right front remainder of the spindle. We the finally caught a ride back to town! Two days later I was in a wrecking yard with the entire right front spindle in my hands...looking for the only Studebaker the wrecking yard owner said he had...and 1957 President....which I PRAYED had a right front spindle which would work...and thankfully, it did...SORTA! the only difference was that its tie-rod end was reverse threaded to the one on my Lark VII...so all I had to do was put the original tie-rod end of the Lark onto it...and it was a perfect match after that! I had a bit of time so I checked out that 57 President...it had a hump in its dashboard with rolling numbers in it...and NO SPEEDOMETER....the rolling numbers were the speedo! Later on, I found out that Studebaker did that for ONLY one year model on the President, then went back to an analog dial speedo....due to customer complaints...that they had to actually READ the numbers which took their attention off the road ahead...instead of using their peripheral vision to tell where the needle on an analog speedometer was! More on this later...but...one other thing, that President had a GOlden-line V-8, too...larger than mine...with no carb, but a box thingie instead...which I found out was a single point fuel injection unit from the factory!!! Just like those used on the early Vettes! GO FIGURE!! So...back to the speedometer...those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it....back in the 1980's one or more of the Japanese car makers went to a digital speedometer in the dash, and did away with the analog dial version...and again, it lasted for about one year...same buyer complaints...GO FIGURE! đŸ€Ł

  32. Brian Eno "Before and after science", I have this album since the 70's. I had the small table included in the wallet displayed on the walls of my teenager's room: what good memories 😋 My version is a French pressing, note the internal pocket with the advertising of the records of a great French singer: Mr Serge Reggiani https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serge_Reggiani 😎

  33. If you are talking the real deal made from Glycyrrhizinic acid (i.e.the real McCoy); mine too. Love the damn Dutch made stuff, it's addictive. Just got to be very careful of the amount of daily consumption. It can cause your Potassium level to plummet and blood pressure to sky-rocket. Trust me that is not good. Wb

  41. Your right it should be done more. They were all rescues but the Chihuahua was a different kind of rescue, our daughter is a hospice nurse and an old lady who had her died, none of the family wanted the dog so our daughter took her and we ended up with her because the two dogs got along so well, but she really is a good dog. Anyone can walk in sit down and she will jump in there lap and be happy, we think the old lady must have held her all the time ?

  42. Classé doesn't seem to get that much attention on the Klipsch forums which is a shame. I've mentioned it many times that Classé is among my very favorite solid-state amplifiers. Performance-wise, Classé doesn't take a back seat to any of the brands mentioned above and may actually be preferable in some (maybe all) cases. Some mention the tube-like qualities and I have to agree -- the smoothness of this amp approaches tubes. While I still prefer tubes, I've wondered to myself what I'd miss if I just went solid-state for the convenience. The answer -- I could live very happily with Classé. Classé is a great match for Klipsch Heritage. The great thing about Classé is the value you get, especially when buying used. I currently own two of their amplifiers. While I use tubes for two-channel, I use a multi-channel Classé amp for home theater. $1000 is a GREAT price for this model and a better value than what I paid for my own Classé multi-channel amp! This amp can be configured for 6, 5, 4 and 3-channels. If I didn't already have my other Classé amplifiers, I would buy this in a heartbeat!

  43. Welcome to the forum. Tom @kuisis might be a useful resource. He has two circa 50s Khorns, plus he’s a nice guy . . . . for a Penguins lover. 😉 I've taken the liberty of attaching photos of one of Tom's Khorns. The photos were taken prior to his purchase. Note the thickness of the Tophat top. It's similar to yours. IIRC, this was not purchased as a Decorator.

  44. The pink stuff will do nothing but help the sound. Open-back speakers, particularly in a wall, where the resonant "cabinet" is as huge as a 2x4 wall, have a distinctively hollow sound to them. Open up a speaker cabinet - notice the insulation? Even in that small a space, there has to be dampening material to compensate for driver reverbation. In a wall, it's even more critical. There's a reason why Triad is lauded for their in-wall speakers - they build enclosed in-wall speakers (some ported, some not) that deliver consistent sound quality no matter where they're installed. You may not like the tone of a Triad speaker, but you know exactly how it will sound before you ever plant it in a wall or ceiling.
