  2. I doubt it. jk jk doin' the Monday routine. Housework. Hustling. I have a feeling I may be immobile soon later. Had a vision of a small winter garden and the dirt wrench got me. There are some motions I should avoid. Just a twinge. Experience tells me to get everything I can done before I sit for more than a minute or two.

  3. no like explosions, either. Mornin' All better today Made a pot of ArivacaBlend [dark/light roast] in observance of our anniversary. Hard to believe a school teacher has put up with me for 12 years .... and I am not the oldest kid in 1st grade kinda half a plan for dinner. Depends on what we can get at the [local] store She sez she's a rice type person. lol. That what she sez. Put a t-bone and a baked spud in front of her. Don't be stupid and try to take the bone away before she is done. She might bite. Maybe a bottle of fizzy cider to chase it down.

  4. Congratulations on 12 years, must be the sarong thing, or just the fact your willing to wear one is a thing by itself.

  6. They (the paper) give us credit for the photos anytime they use them. We take these to support our small school (2A) which got hardly any exposure at all before.

  7. Like the title suggests, I figured I’d test the waters to see if anyone out there would be interested in buying my 3 650’s. They are in great shape and I can get photos but they are in my storage so that wouldn’t be until someone commits. I love these speakers but it is a total waste having them just sitting in storage, which they’ve been doing about 2 years or so. Pricing them fairly at $1,600 + shipping for the three speakers. I live in Bothell WA, 98021, if someone wants to get a shipping estimate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Hi Dave, I hope my english will be good and understandable. To overcome the buzz you can try, if it is not already done, to connect your amp to the ground of the electrical circuit of the house on this jack. If this is not possible you can try an accessory like this Hum Block It, it does the same thing. Of course, the earth of the electrical installation must be good. If you are DIY and respecting the electrical regulations of your country you can do it yourself with a plug and a wire

  12. I got rid of Spotify Premium after 3 years or so and went to Amazon Music HD which sounded better to my ears...and that says a lot (having tinnitus). Spotify has best UI but Amazon sounded better...that won out.

  13. Tin cans are getting tougher to find now that coffee comes in plastic tubs. 😂 😂 Yea, I had to! lol Yup, there's @Emile right on que! lol He's got a valid point too. 😂

  14. Yeah ... as @Dave1290stated ... much safer bet to get Heresy's (or even RF7's). But if you can afford to loose $500, those McIntosh speakers might be fun.

  16. Watched a pair of those go at auction a while back for $300. I thought about it for 2 seconds max. Estate auction. Wanted the Mc amp and pre which went insanely high. Same dude bought it all. Poor guy is prolly using string and tin cans now trying to save up his money to repair it all. Just solve your horneyness and find an older pair of Heresy's! Just my $.02 worth.

  18. it would tend to increase the dispersion over part of its range . Say the oval is 6 inches high and 3 inches wide - then the horiaontal dipersion would be improved and things less beamy compared to the speaker's full diaphragm being used. As long as the cone can't hit the baffle, give it a try. Here;s an oval lens I tested years back on a 15 inch woofer (solrry for the wrong smoothing but relatively speaking it shows the effect) Note how close the "on" to 45 off horizontal axis traces are for the case with the oval lens vs no lens in the 1-2KHz region. Your slot would have its effect a bit more than an octave up vs the one in this picture. The use of those goes back at least to the time of G.A, Briggs and the R-J Enclosure. Later in BBC monitors. Currently JBL uses a modified oval slot in one line of their speakers. If the JBL slot were used to make a modern "R-J", it would look something like my crude mess below. The R-J vented its backwave through a slot. The first slot in the prototype was rectangular. The first production R-H had a lopsided "diamond" slot and the final slot was something like a lemon shape. In some cases, such a slot could be used to get a better directivity match to a tweeter horn/waveguide at crossover.

  20. ast night you said I was cold, untouchable A lonely piece of action from another town I just want to be free, I'm happy to be lonely Can't you stay away? Just leave me alone with my thoughts Just a runaway, just a runaway, I'm saving myself Strung out below a necklace of carnival lights Cold moan, held on the crest of the night I'm too tired to fight So now we're passing strangers, at single tables Still trying to get over, still trying to write love songs for passing strangers All those passing strangers And the twinkling lies, all those twinkling lies Sparkle with the wet ink on the paper Oh I remember Toronto when mylo went down And we sat and we cried on the phone I never felt so alone He was the first of our own Some of us go down in a blaze of obscurity Some of us go down in a haze of publicity The price of infamy, the edge of insanity Another holiday inn, another temporary home And an interviewer threatened me with a microphone 'talk to me, won't you tell me your stories.' So I talked about conscience and I talked about pain And he looked out the window and it started to rain I thought maybe I've already gone crazy So I reached for a bottle and he reached for the door And I picked up the sleeping pills crushed on the floor Inviting me to a casual obscenity It would be incredible if we could retrace all the times that we lived here All the collisions Wasted, I've never been so wasted I've never been this far out before Perimeter walk There's a presence here I feel could have been ancient, I could have been mystical There's a presence A childhood, my childhood My childhood, childhood A misplaced childhood My childhood, a misplaced childhood Give it back to me, give it back to me A childhood, that childhood, that childhood, that childhood, that childhood Oh please give it back to me I saw a war widow in a launderette Washing the memories from her husband's clothes She had medals pinned to a threadbare greatcoat A lump in her throat with cemetery eyes I see convoys curbcrawling west german autobahns Trying to pick up a war They're going to even the score Oh... I can't take any more I see black flags on factories Soup ladies poised on the lips of the poor I see children with vacant stares, destined for rape in the alleyways Does anybody care, I can't take any more! Should we say goodbye? Hey I see priests, politicians? The heroes in black plastic body-bags under nations' flags I see children pleading with outstretched hands, drenched in napalm, this is no vietnam I can't take any more, should we say goodbye How can we justify? They call us civilised!

  22. I made some small baffles to hold some eminence apt50 drivers and horns to replace my LaScala tweeters. I placed them on the back of the cabinets to align them with the k55 mids. Seriously better. While the alignment between the bass and mids would also make a difference, it is more apparent when done with the mid and tweeter. More detail at the crossover point, better imaging, less harsh and fatiguing. Cost is minimal . If you try with new tweeters/horns, you can leave originals in place while you try the new ones. Bruce

  23. Hey Carl @CECAA850 give this a look. I like the way the store owner handles her hard to get stock. Want a taste something -- open a bottle. She gets three bottles of Pappy 15 each year and opens one to give free samples. These guys, i believe are from Austin, TX and one of them is a level three bourbon sommelier. This isn’t a video about which taste best -- it’s more how liquor store do things that piss off their customers (like hiding the good stuff for their favorite customers).

  32. That's exactly why I stopped shooting. Initially you got a few bucks, film and mileage for the away games. The downside of that was you had to use your own gear Then the cost of news print started going thru the roof so they eliminated the film and mileage and gave you a lil extra for each print. Ummmm, ok, I got some nice perks, Indy, Mid-Ohio and Muirfield credentials. Throw in some OSU sports and Indians/Browns stuff KINDA made it all even out. Thing was the regulars photogs got the wkends off, which was great for them until they got bored sitting home with the wife on wkends. THEN the digital gear came on board. A stringer didn't have a chance! EVERYone w/a digital was shooting over your shoulder and havin a blast looking at the "film back" to see if they got the shot. THEN it even hit the weddings w/Uncle Tom and friends shooting over my shoulder. Yup,, you line em up and put everyone in the wedding party thru their paces in the formals. Didn't make a dime w/everyone else shooting. Done, nope, no mas! Next up? The camera's in cell phones!

  33. The dollar amount wasn't revealed yet, but I'm sure it's more than a billion. I like him, but I'm not sure about the owner also having a team in the series that he owns? He owns the track, IndyCar series, and IMS Productions. He did say they will utilize the facility for more than racing. The Stones were there a few years ago, maybe a bunch of concerts!

  34. That was just silly any way you put it as anybody with reasonable automotive skills knows all it takes is a camshaft swap and sometimes intake and exhaust flow work to turn a 350 cubic inch engine into a fire breathing monster capable of outperforming even the largest cubic inch motors of the time, cubic inches make a difference of course but its not everything involved in making horsepower or torque.

  35. I'd opt to do it digitally as soon as I could. In order to best do it as in the pics you should absorb any and all reflections off the top surface (at least) and especially prevent diffraction off the edges of that surface. I see that (as shown) as being trading one can of worms for another.

  38. Is one closer to a side wall than the other? I've experienced the same thing when one is. If not, I would swap the left and right speaker wires and run the white noise again. Does the difference in sounds seem to stay with the same speaker or does it seem to switch?

  39. I'll reinforce what Bubo said; don't purchase any old piece of gear without it having been recapped (or w/intention of DIY). That means at least every electrolytic. A friend just finished a recap/refurb of a Kenwood KA-7300, and let me run it for a few days (nice dual-mono design). I could be happy with this piece (I'm not giving up my Don Allens, though). I checked some reviews of this integrated, and one of the complaints was noise floor. Bullshit. This thing was dead quiet with my La Scalas. The problem is people are commenting on stock units. My friend said the sound quality was night and day after servicing. Refurb is a must.

  40. Brian Eno "Before and after science", I have this album since the 70's. I had the small table included in the wallet displayed on the walls of my teenager's room: what good memories 😋 My version is a French pressing, note the internal pocket with the advertising of the records of a great French singer: Mr Serge Reggiani https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serge_Reggiani 😎
