  1. Heard one of my early favorites mentioned in another thread recently. @BigStewMan yep their shows sounded better than average, what they played was straight up rock-n-roll and they did a couple encores for you too! When this LP came out the year after I saw them first we all thought it sounded very much like the actual show we had seen. This was one that had to be replaced, gotta play it every now and then! They were good until they were bad, saw the first couple of stanzas of their first song downtown ten years ago when they put stages all over for the SpeedStreet Festival, had to walk away and listen to Kenny somebody doing country a few blocks away that sounded better!

  4. Definitely in my top 3 of this band’s releases and the parting of ways for the bands frontman What a brilliant album and I don’t use that word all that often when describing an album Artist - Marillion Title - Clutching At Straws Thanks Mike 🤟

  5. When i drink vodka i like to chase it down with tequila so it doesn't taste like crap. By the way, ignore the salt and lime with tequila shots thing. A freshly sliced orange works much better.

  6. Show and tell never happened but the few who did see it liked it. It was a lot of trouble to do and I have not made up my mind if I am interested in making more. This was donated to the Klipsch museum with the instructions to auction it off and keep the funds. I have no idea what their plans are but it is theirs and might be the only set I do.

  10. She is an American car, She isn't legal so she can't go far. She got her mind stuck up in second gear, Where she going ain't exactly clear. Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home. Low mileage without a pink slip, Clean upholstery and it ain't been ripped. She stripped her gears only late last night, I don't think that thing was oiling right. Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home. She shakes and shimmies all over the road, She's always happy when she carry a load. Another lonesome automobile, Something bout the way she makes me feel. Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home. ....... hang tight! ** ! Believe that should play the whole LP, think they were smokin when they made this one. Listen to "Heaven, Hell or Houston" and think of the first "Grinch" tv show. It sounds like the Grinch whipped that chihuahua all the way to TX

  13. I doubt my ears are able to pick up any of the more subtle audio tones and frequencies generated by the LS-s, but I also had some concern about “reflected” sound when I located my HF drivers to the top of the cabinet, especially since I have glass toppers on them. To address my concern, I cut my MAHL stands at a slight angle at the top where the lens mounts to allow for a slight upward tilt of the driver. I also placed an ultra-mini “rock garden” in front of the stands rather than an acoustic mat to further break up any reflected sound waves off the tops of my ‘Scalas. Does this all work? Hard to say (see my opening sentence), but FWIW, the sound stage seems to be a bit “taller” with the tilted drivers, an effect I immediately appreciated. Note: for time alignment purposes, my HF drivers sit closer to the midway point of the cabinet because of the shorter Fastrac squawker horns in my LS-s. Thanks for reading - happy listening!

  15. Numbnuts at my abc store here (state manages liquor sales here) tell me there's a problem getting my Four Roses. Didn't care for the Jeffersons very well though it did the trick and was kinda interesting. They just got the small batch back in stock but none of the Good Single Barrel I like sippin'. hmmm... City-limits just about straddle the state line now so found it on the computer south of the border, I counted 16 of them on the shelf! Ha.

  16. Well she's heavy into hallmark movies tonight, got the game recording will watch later... from a little earlier than that last super kegger LP I put up and this tune starts out beautifully before they start jamming! I know I'm lucky to have heard this played live one of the times that I saw them.

  20. OK, let's get back to the speakers One of my neighbor's had a set of these KI-362's. Auditioned them and they are absolutely AWESOME! Sorry, never went to "low volume," but I am sure @Westcoastdrums is "spot on."

  21. Hijack here. I lived across Cherry Ave from Lakewood way back. We used to watch movies at the Lakewood drive-in from the railroad cars on tracks right next to it. Then the theatre sold and new owners turned it into a porn drive-in. (what could go wrong?) So we watched porn from the railroad cars. Then the city saw a bunch of kids watching porn from railroad cars and shut down the drive-in. It never recovered. I did though! Fun memories!

  23. i miss hearing another language around the house. For me it was Portuguese; but that generation has passed away and those of us that remain only spoke English (we knew enough Portuguese to know what was for dinner and if we were in trouble). My Mom and Dad both died when i was eight; so i lived with other relatives; but my Grandparents and Aunts & Uncles spoke Portuguese amongst each other.

  24. Negative. Not saying that it’s a bad thing, just not something that i do. Never was one of those lime and salt and a shot guys. I’ll do a shot; but all i need is the tequila. Now this Avion 44 Extra Anejo cost me $150 for a bottle so I think i shall sip on it instead of doing shots.

  26. tough call - on the real cheap (like $24 on sale) and with a somewhat "V" shaped response, the Monoprice "Retro" (which appear toi be a Superlux product) can be pretty good. I don't like my Fostex T20RPMKII much - inefficient and with cavity resonance. I often use re-capped ancient 2-way Stanton Dynaphase 60 with a JLH circuit Chi-fi amp (great amp). My Schiit Vali 2 blew up with high Z heapjhones (funky Koss 250ohm) on a drum track. Phillips SHP9500 are decent headphones, open back, low clamping force and run around $75 new. Go over to head-fi - super best audio friends and head-fi and see whats currently happening. Amazon's reviews and feedback can be useful too. With a portable player, I have some Zagg wood cup cans which sound pretty good and can be found new for around $25 shipped.

  34. Hi Dave, I hope my english will be good and understandable. To overcome the buzz you can try, if it is not already done, to connect your amp to the ground of the electrical circuit of the house on this jack. If this is not possible you can try an accessory like this Hum Block It, it does the same thing. Of course, the earth of the electrical installation must be good. If you are DIY and respecting the electrical regulations of your country you can do it yourself with a plug and a wire

He drove a ways to cut my trip some, and I got to score excellent Boudin and Cracklin! Oh and a stuffed chicken that we had for dinner tonight. #cajunfoodrules Rick

  38. I made some small baffles to hold some eminence apt50 drivers and horns to replace my LaScala tweeters. I placed them on the back of the cabinets to align them with the k55 mids. Seriously better. While the alignment between the bass and mids would also make a difference, it is more apparent when done with the mid and tweeter. More detail at the crossover point, better imaging, less harsh and fatiguing. Cost is minimal . If you try with new tweeters/horns, you can leave originals in place while you try the new ones. Bruce

  39. I just got them home two days ago and have not done a thing to them. I'm using regular 14 gauge copper speaker wire and everything is stock with the Khorns. I haven't even thought about any upgrades and I am just enjoying them for now. Upgrades will come later when I determine what they will be. I will be treating the room in the coming months as that has been my plan for a while now. Charlie
