  1. Ok I am a little surprised and happy. I got tired of the 6 bikes under the side patio, they were the kids and grandkids so I asked all of them if they wanted them and they did not. So I made a sign that said free bikes and went and put in on the side road which is about 500' away, we live on a corner. I did this yesterday, by last night 4 bikes were gone, the smaller ones for kids. Today the wife drove past the side and someone was loading up the last two bikes which for adults, so she picked up the sign. 6 less bikes in the way around here, I'm happy. I was hoping if someone needed a bike for a kid it would take little to get them working fine. A little air in the tires and some oil on the chains and they would be fine, or disassemble and repaint to make them look new. Just glad there gone, should have done this a year ago.

  2. Michael, I have an Outlaw 990 (non-HDMI) prepro in the factory box you can have. I bought it thinking I would get another multi-channel amp for the game room; never did. It's yours if you want. I did hook it up and it works fine. Manuals, remote, etc.

  5. That would be nice, but even someone wanting a bike to ride would be good enough, well them leaving here was good enough. Of the 6 two were adults and the last to to go, so some kids got a bike.

  6. This is the last Slade album in the collection but still in the 80s The band added some keyboards to the formula in this release but not everyone liked it But my take is that a band needs to move forward or they go stale so this is an underrated sleeper album that you need to listen to a few time to get the essence Artist - Slade Title - Rogues Gallery

  7. An amazing read but that is what David Bowie was. Amazing in every way. You NEVER knew what would happen at his shows. I saw every show he ever did and each one left you feeling different. A message or just Bowie? Totally strange assuming it was just him. Damn what a ride though. Thanks wb

  11. Someone mentioned YES? Got an original regular LP and a mfsl cd (mostly for the ride) and which do I go to the most? I've liked the Forte III sound since I got them. Hearing some of the big Heritage after that of course kinda ruined it for a little while, but there was a cure. That magical black box with the big driver, phase adjustment and adjustable hz cutoff points makes this record sing!!

  12. To make matters worse recordings have a lot of variations which makes deciding the best balance by ear a challenge as well since the tap options are acting somewhat like tone controls. miketn

  13. I saw him on the DiamondDogs tour. Sound system was bad. Not good "bad". The show was interesting. The crowd costumed. I hung with the cops... they were the most normal looking folks in the arena.

  21. Audio quest, you bring up a number of interesting points and you also remind me of a "difficulty" that I have when folks talk about Jubilees. Since you have listened to Jubilees (with the TAD drivers), you have a good idea of what Jubilees can do. They really are a very good Speaker and Roy Delgado should be commended. You have also probably read a number of posts that discuss the modifications that folks might do. The problem is (and hence my "difficulty") that folks may come away thinking that stock Jubilees are somehow deficient in their stock form. I am not beating up on my fellow Jubilee enthusiasts, but I will be blunt. Stock Jubilees are NOT deficient. For most folks, even in their stock form, they are probably the best speaker most will have ever heard. PERIOD!!! There are upgrades available for the DIYer. Even I have engaged in some and yes, there is an improvement. Does that mean I think the stock versions are inherently sub-standard. No, absolutely not. They are a great speaker. If you liked what you heard (with the TAD drivers), I am sure you will still like the stock Jubilees. If what you are asking is (my words): can any car be made to handle better by installing some expensive shocks and tires? Yes .... but it does not mean the stock car was somehow medicore. As far as the DSP crossovers go, there has been some dedicated work on improving the crossover settings and equalization on the Jubilee. I applaud these efforts. However, even using last year's technology (the Electrovoice Dx 38 with Roy's settings) the Jubilee will sound great. When I got/fabricated my Jubilees, I used a Behringer 2496 DCX (hardly high end stuff). You know what - it sounded great and I never felt that I was somehow "cheated". Part of my "difficulty" is that when folks read about all the modifications and details on setting up the DSP crossover, they come away thinking that the Jubilee is not plug-and-play. Nothing could be further from the truth. Get a used Electrovoice or Behringer if you want to save some money (or get something better) and start out with Roy's filter settings. They will sound wonderful (even with mid-priced amplifiers) In the future, if you want to get the fancy shocks and tires, then by all means go for it. However, please don't think you will be disappointed by stock version when it arrives on your door step. I am done ranting. I hope my comments are not taken as a knock on any of you who have gone the extra mile with what you have been able to do. It is important that folks thinking about getting Jubilees are not scared off by all the talk of "modifications". Good Luck, -Tom

  22. Anybody that has done any measurements knows the little bit of height those things add alone add will change the outcome of frequency response more than anything else, the rest is just babble such as reduces internal reflections, give me a break. If the cabinet vibrates its a cabinet issue, if the floor vibrates its the sound waves from the speaker itself causing this. if the surface is uneven see my first post or just add some carpet or similar material underneath, save some headache and money.

  29. If you're asking what I think you're asking, knock 2.5 dB off of the 402s and Bob's your uncle! The idea is to have the flattest resonse over the widest range so the fundamentals and harmonics of each instrument stay in proper relation to each other.

  36. It snowed last night... 8:00 am: I made a snowman. 8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman. 8:15 - So, I made a snow woman. 8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified snow women everywhere. 8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snow men instead. 8:22 - The transgender man..women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts. 8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and not to decorate snow figures with. 8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white. 8:31 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be covered up . 8:40 - The Police arrived saying someone had been offended. 8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role. 8:43 - The council equality officer arrived and threatened me with eviction. 8:45 - TV news crew from CBC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied "Snowballs" and am now called a sexist. 9:00 - I was on the News as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather. 9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services. 9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding for me to be arrested. By noon it all melted Moral: There is no moral to this story. It is what we have become, all because of snowflakes.

  37. Excellent use of the budget. @EvolutionX The Klipsch RP-600M were the Cnet Speaker of the Year for 2018. They have gotten rave reviews, including from me. I own a pair. Highly recommended. https://www.cnet.com/news/the-klipsch-reference-premiere-600m-is-the-audiophiliac-speaker-of-the-year/ Likewise not everyone has the budget for the flagship RC-64 III but the owners of the RP-504C give them highest praise short of the RC-64 III. I own the RC-64 III, I have not heard the RP-504C. I bought my 600M from Cory @MetropolisLakeOutfitters. Ask about B stock to save a little more money, mine are B-stock and they look and sound perfect. With the high quality 3.1 setup you can always add surround speakers later. Start with a quality L/C/R, especially the center speaker. If you need speaker stands get 24". Mine are 18" and they are too low.

  40. After de-nesting and de-webbing on the outside, the inside looked pretty good and very clean. The cone is not deteriorated at all and the suspension still seems flexible when I press on it. Again, I’m not sure but I may have replaced the woofer in 1987. Maybe those more experienced can tell by the pictures. Considering it’s 30 years later
