any of you remember how you felt the first time you were addressed as "Sir" as a sign of respect? I do. It was like a very polite gut kick. The first time I realized I was getting old/er.... than teenage. I was about 405 points

Feeling almost good enough to run my amp to Tucson. Bet they have some good bday presents for me there. 65 years old tomorrow..damn... never thought I'd last this long. Temp swing... oh yeah. Sposed to make 65`. Frost is starting to melt. Went out to uncover my garden...brrr Prolly 50 in the sun. I feel OK... just no gas. I'm good for a couple hours and need to rest.... sleep/nap. I was up a 0130... hungry. Had some toast with honey and butter. Getting time to eat breakfast. 3 or 4 eggs, toast or tortillas and some juice sounds good. Can't let wife do that for me. She tends to overcook eggs and a lot of other things. She will kill good shrimp. Cook 'em to rubber... same as eggs. Then wonder why she doesn't like them. She does great curries/Asian style... anything else, I tell her AuntRuby taught you wrong. A lot of it comes from trying to multi-task while preparing very fast cooking items. I do most of the cooking around here. How y'all doing with that storm? Came thru here w/o much more than a dip in temp. It rained east of us. Not far east... a mile or two east was wet/damp when we went out yesterday. We got zero precip.5 points

Morning Pete......warm here for January. May make it to 70 today. Fixed LF a Feta and black olive omelette and she is on her way to tennis. Watching some Motor Trend TV and finishing second cup. Jake resting! Powerball up to $277 million. Have one ticket and may buy another. You could cobble together a decent system for that.5 points

Nobody mentioned "fat"! Just no sharp edges. I checked my list of challenges and "horizontally" is not on there.4 points

Yep, it's past us now, some bad winds but the really hard rain didn't last long, 1.5" total, no problems. It's just with weather like this you never know when a tornado will pop up and it could be anywhere. Cooling off already, feels nice but still windy. Hope everything goes well for them, Congratulations.4 points

the only "fat photos" of me are at 4 years old I am horizontally challenged4 points

Most of us are proactive and put on at least 5 pounds per year to keep the wrinkle out and keep us looking young(ish) You obviously did not get that memo.4 points

This is what ~ $500,000 will buy you: https://www.paragonsns.com/product/wilson-audio-chronosonic-xvx/ I bet Chris would appreciate this: "Like the WAMM, the goal for XVX’s time-domain accuracy was to approach the theoretical ideal, with adjustment increments in the two-millionths-of-a-second range with greater ease and simplicity."4 points

Top of the morning to ya, grasshopper! Had my coffee @ 0400. Claude pointed out something pretty valuable to me a few days ago in a post. $500,000 a pair Wilson Audio speakers are bass reflex cabs. I was really surprised.4 points

The desert does have some pretty good temp swings. Been 30s to 60s and wet, wet, wet, again here. Still occasionally have an eighty foot oak that wasn't tended to in the heatwave/drought two decades ago that just fall down. Found a variant of my new southwest "Rain Song" recently. Hope you're getting better!4 points

Wake up lost in an empty town Wondering why no one else is around Look up to see a giant boy You’ve just become his brand new toy No escape, no place to hide Here where Time and Space collide You have entered the Twilight Zone Beyond this world strange things are known Use the key, unlock the door See what your fate might have in store Come explore your dreams’ creation Enter this world of imagination4 points

Too bad, good writer and really good drummer. He had some tough times for a guy with so much. There was a time after I saw 2112 tour that I was a mega fan. I still love that era Rush music, after......ehh.......RIP4 points

What's the diagnosis? Sorry if i missed it. Antibiotics means it ain't the flu. I hope you get to feeling better soon. 10 pounds off of 125? Yea that's a lot. Be like me losing 11 or 12 Last trip to Doc he said "let's not have you loose any more weight". i said Doc it ain't like I'm trying.4 points

Saw them warm up for Kiss in the early 70's and with 2112 became a hardcore fan. I'm lucky I guess in that I saw them 20+ times. For one concert the warm up band did not show up so Geddy came out and apologized and then asked if it would be okay if RUSH played both sets - 3.5 hours of music, they did have a break in the middle for 20 minutes. Professionals in every sense, I feel a personal loss with this. The most amazing talented band I ever saw, Heaven is an even better place now.4 points

They still make them, I had one a long time ago. So when needing something out in the bar i thought a car radio could handle a little more dampness than home audio electronics and I remembered the old Supertuners. Well I was surprised to find out the still make them but a 3rd version, pre-outs and all, put a Crown D 75 with it, works great. It even has a connector for the back to connect a cable to plug in any headphone, ipad or computer as the source, plus CD's.3 points

I showed my birth cert at the MVD, yesterday. They didn't believe it, either. ....actually I took the fancy, framed on the wall hospital cert.. They wanted the one registered with county recorder... it's here somewhere. I know. But when you move between times that you need it. There are lots of things I'm still looking for.3 points

I won't believe it until I see the birth certificate. And then I still won't believe it.3 points

Some of the passages sounded so spooky to me when I first heard that whole LP in the late 70s @Full Range At that point had not even seen the Exorcist, didn't until it came on tv later on. & Oldfield played every instrument on the LP? Good clock in his head and great mastering. The Record Store Day editions I've got are very nice too!3 points

Another great musician gone way too soon. He was the TOTAL package EVERY time he walked out on the stage and the entire world knew it! The REAL DEAL! MANY great drummers but damn he soooo took it to another level EVERY time!3 points

I'm new to Klipsch - not new to the game. I'm running a set of RP8000's and recently took delivery of an RP504C like yourself. Power is coming from my Marantz SR7013. I can guarantee something is amiss, because right now I'm running stereo only (pure direct) and the sound is epic. I mean 'Maxell Blown Away Guy' levels. It's fantastic. Great musical quality to the receiver as well. What's your source? I'm playing mostly Tidal masters or FLAC off USB, so quality is better than not. But anything I seem to throw at it is pretty impressive. Lots of things to consider when it's not going right, but maybe a tech from here can chime in? Best of luck.3 points

Back in the grooves now. Entirely predictable here, the other stuff will have to wait. One of my all time favorite bands lost their drummer Tuesday and it was announced a little while ago. Forty years ago I imagined firing up a stogie (extremely large doobie) when events good or bad happened, forever more. Things are different but side two of "Fly By Night" is still beautiful and comforting to me. Leaving off the first track from side B. Rest in Peace Mr. Peart.3 points
