  1. Piglets! Born on the farm this morning.. Tons of time and effort into this one. We'll keep at least one male and female for cross breeding with our other stock and then the rest will be raised for the table.

  4. Today, since the completion of my RF7 MK II, I saw a live concert for the very first time and really experienced it live at 95 dB sound pressure. David Gilmour`s concert "Live in Pompeii" I got goose bumps after the other. It was an incredible experience

  6. I have fun with stuff. It's what I do. I like Chicago and spin what I have. But there is background. Butters in South Park (demented comedy/parody) sings that song so it brings back memories of those episodes too. All of our lives we have had fun with tunes and changed the words around. We all have a little Weird Al in us. And sappy love songs just demand levity.

  10. Just got the Xilica in, but itโ€™s going to sit right there for a few weeks. My wife was just diagnosed with some bad stuff inside her that needs to be removed now! She goes in for surgery this coming Tuesday. We are praying the doctors get it all. So sheโ€™ll be my priority for a while until she gets back on her feet. Until then Iโ€™ll buy some new crossover parts for my brother in laws KPT-904โ€™s and work on them when I have some downtime. If anyone has a minute, please say a prayer for her if you think about it.

  13. Felt like some Santana after Sunday lunch So I started off with Abraxas And followed that album up with Caravanserai A little bit of info about the Abraxas cover I found on the internet The album cover features the 1961 painting 'Annunciation', by Mati Klarwein. Carlos Santana saw a reproduction of the Annunciation in a magazine and wanted it for the cover of his all time best selling Abraxas album. The way it was painted was in fact a provocation of the traditional Biblical meaning of Annunciation. A winged and tattooed Gabriel is depicted astride a conga drum, pointing heavenwards to a Hebrew Aleph symbol (signifying beginning), with a dark-skinned and naked Mary surrounded by images of fertility. 'Drums were always used to announce something,' Mati said. 'They were a medium of communication in Africa.' To the left are three Wodaabe Charm Dancers, perhaps representing the Three Kings, and an image of Mati himself.

  17. Alrighty @MicroMara, did get to listen to Gregory Porter the other night. Got that "Nat & Me" bookmarked and that voice of his is pure velvety smooth! Does he always have that cap thing on in every picture of him? So my brother dropped in for a couple of days, time to fire up the ultrasonic again! He's going to make a larger hand-off happen he says "soon" Those crates won't fit in his Corolla with the twelve and "close to eight" year olds with him. Brought some more Cs plus Crimsons first... a first pressing in good shape. Here's an inkling of what I'll be enjoying soon. Chester & Lester?? = Atkins & Paul

  18. Exactly...25 feels lovely after the last few months up here, and come November, 25 will feel frigid for a few days until we adjust. Meanwhile in the summer, we'll still have 90+ days with high humidity and lots of thunderstorms. Actually looking forward to that adjustment

  22. This thread has been quiet for almost a week, so I will throw in my two cents. I have been working on a set of 12โ€ wings for this project and have made some decent progress. I have one setup complete enough to begin testing soon. I took a slightly different design approach to the wings. My goal was to match the esthetic of the La Scala bass bin. Whether or not I have achieved this visually and more importantly sonically remains to be seen. I worked with plywood for these wings, which I generally donโ€™t do for assemblies like this, so that was new. Overall I think the ply is a good material, but it did not like some of the extreme angles I was cutting. This is not surprising, and any issues would be covered by veneer in the final product. I also built a glueing jig to aid in assembly, and to promote uniformity/repeatability between the assemblies. Of course the first waveguide half I glued came out slightly out of level. The jig worked very well once my base panel was properly leveled/flattened. I probably need to make some more adjustments to the jig to get it just right. I may try a different core ply too, just to see if it likes the angles a little better. If all goes well I hope to be testing this assembly in room this next week. I will be using my current tube amp to power the heils and a spare receiver to power the bass bins. The receiver on the bass bins is not ideal, but it is all I have right now. I would like to find a good inexpensive amp for the bass bins. I would really like to build an amp for the bass bins, but that will have to wait as I am backed up on projects right now. Somehow this one made its way to the top.

  23. SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD THANK YOU CORY HARRISON AND PADUCAH HOME THEATER The last pair ever made. From generously donated by Cory Harrison Klipsch Museum Founder's level Member. "If anybody is in the market for some Cornwall 3's, don't forget about the set that the Museum has. This is the last pair of CW3's that came down the line at Klipsch. The first ones were made in March 2006 which is quite a long time for a speaker to be in production plus there were 16 years prior to that where no Cornwalls were made at all, you'd have to go back to 1990 to find the last pair of the previous version. I felt like it was an "end of an era" situation and wanted to secure them. I also talked all the plant employees into signing them, given the situation. Anybody who was working there and was involved with Cornwall production signed the back of them. The only sad part is that I think Karen Joy's signature was missing, she sanded these things for years and years but retired shortly before all this happened. [I believe the Museum might be able to get Karen to come in and sign them]. These are beautiful speakers, one of a kind, something you can pass down to your grandkids. No other known Cornwall has a story like these. 100% of the sale price will go to the Museum." We are offering these one of a kind end of an era pair for $5,000. If you are attending Pilgrimage we can discount a respectable amount because we can save shipping and insurance costs. You can PM us here or send me an email at travis@klipschmuseum.org. 27. The ultrasonic plate washing machine did this quickly. I can order one from Hong Kong, under $ 200. Think that's a good price. And yes Gregory Porter is wearing He always wears this hat, even at a live concert, even on all record covers. It's like his trademark......I also love Clapton and JJ Cale and Chicagoยดs ..if you leave me now......

  30. Or is it only OK to like someone who spews views on different subjects that you like regardless of what others think of said views? If I didn't seperate the artist from their world view I'd probaby sell all my gear as it would never be used. I'd also quit watching all sporting events.

  31. Clearly we can, and should, enjoy sports, art, music, etc., irrespective of the politics of those involved. That said, when someone shoves their politics in our face, I feel entitled to dismiss their art, especially when I find those politics repugnant, as I do those of Nugent.

  34. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. USFL, XFL 1.0, AAF and now XFL 2.0 I think this league has a chance. Like the 24 second game clock and St Louis gets another try at a professional football team.

  35. Yes, they would. The next question is "what 2 inch-throat compression driver should I use?" and "how do I dial them in?", i.e., "what are you going to use for crossover filters...specifically are you planning on using good quality DSP crossover?". I've found that the K-510 will mimic K-402s on-axis as mentioned above, but will not have nearly the same apparent source width (ASW) as the K-402s. This difference drove me from using a tri-amped JuBelle to the K-402-MEH: Personally, I'd recommend K-402-MEHs to solve your issues (shown as the center loudspeaker in the photo just above) but this requires a fairly capable 2" compression driver and a pair of 12" or 15" woofers in each, as well as a good DSP crossover. You can have two-way or three-way K-402-MEHs. I'm presently using a three way version via a BMS 4592ND dual diaphragm compression driver, and tri-amping. The answer to this question is the Belle bass bin, shown above in the top picture with a K-510 midrange and a Beyma CP25 tweeter attached to cover the 8-20 kHz band (the 2" compression driver that I was using in the JuBelle chattered above 12 kHz pretty badly, so I added the Beyma tweeter and tri-amped). The K-402-MEH works very well with a BMS 4592ND dual diaphragm driver, or you can use something like a FaitalPRO HF20AT or HF2000 if going 2-way in order to have good clean response above 10 kHz. I agree. Chris

  45. I also find the combination of moving iron with a phono tube preamplifier particularly attractive. The musical emotions are more sensitive than with a transistor phono . I can also play MC via the transistor Phono, of course there are really great MC Cardridges, but I think the prices for them in Germany are sometimes outrageously high.
