  4. Unzipped a couple more re-masters tonight to lift my depressed a$$. Maybe it's cabin fever! hahaha Picked up The Tedeschi Trucks "Everybody's Talkin" album and since I'm a fan that went down first. Released as their second album in 2012 and their first live album I was amazed once again. A 3-disc album in which, everything is crystal clear and just freakin amazing. Darn good in every way and if I had 3 thumbs they'd all be up! Writing for Allmusic, critic Thom Jurek wrote "It's an unusual live record because its balance of sonic precision and stage-born kinetics is perfect—this band transitions seamlessly between R&B, blues, rock, gospel, and jazz. These performances never succumb to mere jam band clichés... Don't know the dude but he's spot on imo!

  5. Since my wife and I both work with folks with disabilities and often compromised immune systems, we are not attending church, we've been watching the live stream service from the diocese. I realized that by watching online I can fall asleep in the comfort of my own home instead of sitting in a pew and falling over... embarrassing everyone. 😴

  6. Cheers! A little yes trivia: Wakeman played the organ at St. Martin's church in Vevey on "Parallels" and "Awaken" while the rest of the band played in the recording studio

  7. Bought the grandson a 1/32 slot car set, 42 feet of track. Two 4x8 sheets on top the unused pool table, painted tan over green base like a road course, came out nice. All this came together since Tuesday - ordered set, delivered yesterday, table prepared and ready. Now - I wonder if it’s prudent to have the little bugger come spend the nite/day? I just heard KC and the biggest surrounding 4 counties will issue a mandatory lockdown beginning a Tuesday, essential travel only.

  10. Yeah, you're definitely right. Bowie was one of the most intelligent musicians. An incredible musical and personal range. Never could have been predicted. I think I somehow own between 25 and 30 David Bowie albums. I have Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars as a live album. Got to check them all out, very good idea from you. And thanx for the musical and sound impression on your video, even with my Grado SR 325e Headphone it sound very impressive ...I enjoyed it very much @Full Range

  14. Yikes! I’ve been wondering why Italy has been hit so hard with covid 19. Just read that it could be a consequence of applied TDS. Early in this episode Pres Trump placed restrictions on travelers coming to America from China and the action was denounced as ‘racist’ rather than prudent. In Italy the gov’t embraced the former notion and reactively chose intentionally to ‘not’ be ‘racist’ (seriously). They intentionally did not place any restrictions on travelers coming in from China to ‘not’ be like Trump. The highlight of this was in Florence where the mayor declared a “Hug a Chinese Day”. Of course China applauded their response and Italy followed their ill chosen policies and now Italians are dying daily in triple digits. I’ll say it again........ this is a mean viral pathogen that cares nothing about politics.

  19. Close the door, put out the light. You know they won't be home tonight. The snow falls hard and don't you know? The winds of Thor are blowing cold. They're wearing steel that's bright and true They carry news that must get through. They choose the path where no-one goes. They hold no quarter. Walking side by side with death, The devil mocks their every step The snow drives back the foot that's slow, The dogs of doom are howling more They carry news that must get through, To build a dream for me and you They choose the path where no-one goes. They hold no quarter. They ask no quarter. The pain, the pain without quarter. They ask no quarter. The dogs of doom are howling more!

  24. Perhaps, it is a good time to explore the "old" toilet seat with bidet options, for when the rolls get slim. https://www.amazon.com/Self-Cleaning-Retractable-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Attachment/dp/B085ZLQCWZ/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=bidet+toilet+seat&qid=1584908355&sr=8-29

  26. Adidas on my feet for several decades. Unfortunately, the models that I like dropped down in quality, so it seems New Balance in the future for me. Tried Nike before, but they are too narrow for me. Shoes - the best leather and comfort that I can afford. Avoiding synthetics, can not wear it.

  31. I remember a brief visit to a colleague in accounting who was NOT an audiophile but had a pretty good stereo setup nonetheless. I can't recall exactly what he had, but his receiver did have bass and treble controls. So he walks up to it and cranks the bass control all the way up as far as it can go. As he does this does this, he points out to me that most of his guests walk up to his stereo and do precisely that while saying "Listen to that Bass." I laughed and pointed out that his observation about the general public was accurate, while their listening preferences were NOT when they preferred this type of gross exaggeration of Bass. Now we have subwoofers to do that instead of cranking up that 100 Hz. "headache bass!!"

  32. I received my ALK Universal Economy Crossovers this past week and they definitely make a difference in my Type B Cornscalas. What I found is a tighter more pronounced bass and better definition of the highs. I adjusted the Squaker connection from 6 to 9 per Al's advice and it immediately smoothed out the midrange. I'm really happy with the purchase and these should hold me off buying something else until after my retirement.

  35. Basically, "bi-amping" without some sort of active crossover only allows one to adjust high and low levels independently. People who do this usually want to jack up the bass, it seems.
