  2. Appreciate that Paul! Same genre... supposedly but when you listen to this particular Marshall Tucker It's more than just country- rock or southern-rock. You'd have to listen to the whole thing. My favorite MTB record.

  3. i think too many people have already decided what they want to believe and search out whichever news source tickles their ears. People don’t want to know the truth, they want to have their opinions validated. Shameful that people cheat themselves in this way.

  4. Sadly, i’ve seen that numerous times including a teenage relative. When they turn off life support, it’s not gory, but it sure is horrifying just watching the monitors and watching the numbers move towards zero. hang in there Neil.

  9. Since we've still in virtual lock down and planted in front of the hifi, Benny decided he wants a pair of 'horns. I told him we needed to sell his La Scala IIs first, so here they are. Purchased in mid-2019 from a Heritage dealer, there are B-stock in cherry finish. There is a 1/4" scratch on the rear top (exaggerated in the photo) and one on top of the box (hidden) from clumsy mounting of the horns. On the inner side of each speaker, the clear coat shows as white until I dab lemon oil on them (last photo). Once that is done, they are as new. I assume that is why there are B-stock, but there is nothing B-stock in their audio performance. Other than that, they are as new from a cat-free, child-free and smoke-free home with no issues: $4000. I am south of Nashville Tennessee and while I cannot ship them, I do have the boxes and packing to make transport easier. Please feel free to arrange an audition before buying. Thanks and please email any questions. Mike

  10. Yes, and now we have FB and other social media to 'count on' to tell us more of what we want to hear. I have thought about this. Regardless if someone is pro this or anti that, they have the circle of friends and most believe that, since everyone who follow them on fb believe the same thing, then it has to be true. Fabricated news, photo shopped pictures, numbers that can't be supported, and people believe it.

  24. Mold and mildew after a hurricane in the hotter part of N. America where these primarily occur may not be avoidable. You can proactively take actions to personally avoid this virus: isolate at home as much as practicable, wear a mask when you absolutely have to go out (N95 works best), keep a good distance between yourself and others, wear disposable gloves too if/when required, wash your hands constantly, avoid touching your face, etc. Boost your immune system with Zinc lozenges, Vitamins C and D. 25. The great famine in China of 1959 through 1961 was reported by the Chinese Communist Party to have resulted in one million deaths. The actual number is approximately 45 million deaths. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Chinese_Famine This closely reflects Stalin's great lie on the number of deaths in the Ukraine in the early 1930's after he had the Soviet Union's communist party seize the food crops there and force collectivized farms. It resulted in the deaths of approximately 10 million Ukrainians as is called the Holodormor today. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor The numbers of those currently infected worldwide by the Wuhan Virus, including in the western world, are approximately 14 days behind as this is the average number of days that those infected commence showing symptoms and test positive. I used to do Numerical Simulation in a past life and these are the type of models used for projections of this virus today (also for Climate Models). The current death rate is an average of 4.8%. See: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/?utm_campaign=homeAdvegas1? WRT the WHO, for the first time ever it is being run by a non MD as Director General (Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus a member of the Communist Party of Ethiopia and former Foreign Minister of Ethiopia with a PHD in Community Health). He was supported by China and the African Union (for Director General in 2017 over the candidate from the UK) and has consistently mishandled the current pandemic, puppeting the Chinese Party's lies regarding the seriousness of this virus, going so far as to claim that human-to-human transmission was not possible early on . His previous claim to fame in this role was to appoint Robert Mugabe in 2017 as 'Goodwill Ambassador' for the WHO. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tedros_Adhanom Given the above, the US is reviewing their ongoing financial support of the WHO as of yesterday. This support amounts to approximately 23% of the WHO's $250,000,000 budget and reflects just the 'assessed' number. Canada contributes between 2 and 3%, Belgium 0.8% and China ~ 11.6% (kind of disportionate isn't it?). Private individuals, like the Gates foundation and others have also donated millions of their own foundation dollars to the WHO. 26. Ya have to share the joke, not everyone here was a member back then. A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw a spectacular gorgeous woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight toward his seat. As if his prayers were answered, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation, he blurted out, "Business trip or vacation?" She turned, smiled, and said, "Business. The Annual Sexual Education Convention in Chicago." He swallowed hard. Here was this most beautiful woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting for sex education! Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use my experience to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really," he said. "What myths are those?" "Well," she explained. "One popular myth is that African American men are the most well endowed, when in fact it's the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is the men of Jewish descent. We have, however, found that the best potential lover in all categories is the Southern Redneck." Suddenly, the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. "I'm sorry," she said. "I really shouldn't be discussing this with you. I don't even know your name." "It's Tonto," the man said, "Tonto Goldstein, but my friends call me Bubba!"

  27. In the late '70's I bought a motorcycle outside of France and cruised through Europe. Going through a small French village one morning I passed a group of schools kids being led down the road by a nun. Wonder what they thought of me, for I was singing "Illegal Smile" at the top of my lungs so I could hear my voice over the roar of the bike. Had the joy of seeing him at the Philadelphia Folk Festival the year after Woodstock. Saw him and Macy Gray singing together on TV once. What an odd, but wonderful pairing. Gonna miss you John.

  28. If this is considered *too political* please say so, and I'll refrain. There have been quite a few posts here about China's numbers being kept low by the Communist Party. Some other authoritarian states are doing the same. This is probably accurate. Time will tell... or not. However, can we rely on the numbers of so-called free, open, democratic countries, of which the US is the role-model? I'd say: be careful with that. 1) The people of the US seem to be blinded by the media mis-reporting the facts and by false narrative (see quote above) 2) In my country, Belgium, the government only counted the dead in hospitals. We've reached +2000 now. But yesterday, it became clear that the numbers of the dead in 'resting homes for the elderly' were not included. There, almost 700 deads occurred. These numbers were hidden from the public (they say they weren't reported) and the caretakers were not provided with masks and safety clothing, no testing was done up to yesterday. The government was forced to publish these numbers, only after numerous accounts by caretakers of horrible situations (in some homes up to 40% of the population was covid-positive) were published in the press. Belgian politicians would have preferred to 'hide these numbers under the carpet'. (Note: the average price for staying in a home like that is €1900 per month). 3) My government meekly follows the instructions and the norms of the WHO, whose official standpoint is that wearing a mask is useless. The WHO has been criticized here in this forum, and I would love to learn more about the arguments for that, because here in Belgium, we are unaware of this, and independent journalists don't report on this.

  29. With all the quarantine time, I've actually have been getting my track car back together. I am almost done, waiting on a few things, but soon I will put it on the dyno and tune it. Had to cover half the oil cooler on the street... First bath in probably a couple years. I cut up a perfectly good hood. Waiting on a replacement louver for the passenger side. Also waiting for another Recaro seat for the passenger side. This is just wastegate spring (7 PSI spring) which is about 5.5 PSI tapering to 4, with low timing. One of the things I am waiting to arrive are the pins, so I can finish wiring up my electronic boost controller into the AEM ECU. This video is also at 8k ft above sea level. I am only going to run 8-10 PSI as this car is already fun where it's at. Next is that I will need to upgrade the clutch and get the damage fixed from my last track mishap...

  34. Have had both the KLF-30’s and CF’4 ver.1’s at the same time. I do not have the 30’s anymore if that says something. I had the KLF-30’s at one time for a number of years prior to the CF-4’s. I did like the legends for home theater but not for music. They did not present a full sound like the Epics do. And the CF-4’s have a subwoofer bass sound to them, I recently had to check to see if my 115r sub was on (it was not) when I was playing my CF-4’s.

  36. Eyes checked...good point, only the dmv recently. She said man you got good eyes. That's close as I've been for years. As to Steroids...I think if you take any you should well understand their use and pro and con. I take what's considered a small amount, and even that is not full time. A large then tapered dose, sometimes minor maintenance in between. I'm the kind of guy that only uses the minimum of most things, except electricity.

  37. hard, but effective drug. have taken it many times for my Asthma flare-ups. Prednisone saved me from shoulder surgery. I was about five days away from the surgery date and my asthma went nuts. doctor gave me some prednisone and two days later, for the first time in a year, i could lift my arm above my waist. A year of chronic inflammation was gone. called the surgeon and canceled the surgery. He was going to shave off some of the bones to make more room.

  39. Got a set of these in yesterday and here are my initial listening impressions and have not measured anything yet. Restoring a set of KPT-456's with the 1132 Klipsch driver running the 506 horn. Decided to put the new N314X-8 on a ZXPC 10 x 18 horn using the 1.4" to 2" adapter PE sells (which by the way was a very nice casting) and take a set of KP-450 HF crossovers from another restoration project to use with them. These things are really light compared to other drivers of similar output used here. Female vocals and all types of percussion magic was my first impression and keep in mind the 456's with the 1132's were on a purpose designed setup. These N314X's were on a cobbled together thing just so I could hear them. The detail is really nice and while listening to some Sheffield big band music just sitting there blown away with the sound. Hugely detailed and clean compared to the 1132's on the 506 horn. I also tried these on the 904 two way factory Klipsch crossovers and they were superb there and all the 510 horn with the DE-75 driver sour notes and crackle instead of cymbals was gone and replaced with great sound. I have had a couple of songs where there were some strident sounds but I am leaning towards the music being the problem. These same songs also do not sound all that great on the S-MWM's either. The KP-450 and 456 crossovers cross at 650hz and the 904's at 900hz. On either crossover and crossover point the drum snap and horn blat and classical music to rock all sounded really nice with the N314X ZXPC horn setup.. This is the best sound out of a set of 904LF type bass bin + an HF horn I have had in this shop and these are not dialed in with a crossover built just for them nor bi-amped with a Xilica so I have no idea what their true potential is. Today I try them with the S-MWM. Don't know how low these N314X's would safely crossover so I will probably set the xilica to 650hz instead of 450 where it is now with the 1132 drivers. If what I expect happens today I will be pulling the 1132's off the S-MWM's and sticking the N314X's on there and ordering another set to experiment with. I don't have a lot of time to fool with this right now but next week hopefully I can get down to some actual measurements. I will fiddle with the crossover point too as I would like to get it down to around 500hz and since I will never go anywhere close to full output I expect I can get away with that. I bust a set of diaphragms up they can be replaced so that would be irritating but worth doing just to see.

  40. Major SCORE for that price! I have 2 (loved the 1st one so much, I bought a spare) I paid about 250.00 each for mine. The 115 is underappreciated because everyone chases the 117. With Klipsch, the 115 is plenty. My Chorus will vibrate CD's out of their storage rack at 1/3 volume 😃
