I'm 54 and my girlfriend is 55. It really bothers me when she talks about getting too old to do things. Of late she's in a mad dash to finish all these house projects because she won't be able to do them again later. She and I were starting a beautiful love afair when we were 16. But a tragedy happened that seperated us that was neither our fault. But we paid the price for 37-years. Now we're together again.5 points

Hello, Been a member for a few years but seldom write. Thought I would share storey. My brother and I are big Klipsch and McIntosh attics and live in Ontario Canada. He bought a khorn in Parry Sound Ontario about 3-4 years ago and is in very good condition. I found a khorn on an auction site 2 years ago in London Ontario. I won the khorn and drove the 4 hrs to pick it up when I got it home and cleaned up etc., it was built in 1957, serial #1183 I called my brother to inquire about buying his to pair them up which would give me 2 pair of khorns. Brother agreed and I asked some details about the speaker Well low and behold it also is a 1957 and get this.....serial #1182!!!!!!!! Matching serial #’s from 1957, bought some 60 years after manufacture and found separated by an 8 hour drive Kinda cool Regards, MacMan5 points

Loneliness is a feeling. Feelings are totally legitimate. Tomorrow you will be not as blue. It will be a new day. Good fortune...4 points

it's strictly emotional fatigue --re-focus your thoughts , to the better aspects of life , that make you into a stronger person , which you are no doubt , a great intellectual mind , and a person who can self criticize but also who can see that it is just a passage in time - it is also the right time to meet with your neighbors , get a kid to cut your grass ,and start making ties with people around you -and life will be more enjoyable as we all need each other , and strangers can become the best of friends4 points

Some guy... cough, cough... Mike sent me one that sounds great. Have yet to hear it all in one sitting but that could be possible now. Didn't say he wanted tree-fitty but hinted I'd need more soon Been trying to get stuff done but my real brother is here helping out..... it seems to be taking longer, but good to have him around for a while.4 points

I'm closer to 72 y/o than 71. I get overwhelmed sometimes as well. Lost both parents, two sets of in laws, my wife, my best male and female friends and there are situations when I was part of a group and I'm the lone survivor. Sometime a twinge of survivors guilt but that's life and I'm still plugging on. Not the stamina I once had but I still am looking ahead to see what venture is next. The bones creak when I get up and down but never any severe health problems. I still have my teeth, hair, and pretty good hearing and when I recall what my wife went through, a juvenile diabetic, who survived three organ transplants, and major heart surgery..............3 points

Yes! Seriously if you knew or (worse) watched what was done during surgery you’d baby that arena until all was healed. You gotta keep in mind that if you re-injure a recent surgery that it can be tougher to correct the 2nd time around and it may not heal as completely if you’d let it fully heal in the 1st place. This is easier said than done...... plan ahead for these needs. Chores, mobility aides, food shopping and preparation. If you live alone you might even benefit from a stint in a rehabilitation facility before being discharged home. So, yeah. There’s more to come. Plan on it. Plan for it. Getting old sucks...... it always has.3 points

Let me tell you a humorous story. When I was nine years old, I got adopted. One night at dinner with the new family there is something that looks similar to that. I asked "what is this?" Beef stew was the answer. I said, "But, it's not red." Beef stew is brown is the reply that I got. "No ... all food must be red" and out comes the ketchup. It wasn't ketchup that made me think food should be red ... it's my Portuguese heritage ... everything was made with tomato sauce. My cousins laugh when I tell this story because they know that their Mom (who I lived with for awhile after my folks died) put tomato sauce in everything. But, that does look good .. I'd eat it ... especially if you had some biscuits to go with it. I remember being a kid and my mom threatening to give me and my dad a bowl of ketchup and a loaf of bread for dinner ... I was so excited.3 points

From the 1975 pressing that I have Voices seem a little louder and come to the fore Some instrumental parts are levelled out and tamed in the mixing - so missing some rawness of the original Vinyl is pretty quiet Still very enjoyable3 points

@dtel, if you are referring to the Bug-A-Salt, YEP, it really does work and it is fun too! I'm still perfecting my on-the-wing skills on wasps and other bugs while they are flying!2 points

I have always lived alone. This is the first time that I've ever actually felt alone. Everyone's stock answer to that is, "It beats the alternative." What's the other quote? "If I'd known that I was going to live this long I'd have taken better care of myself."2 points

Find the nest and use Raid wasp and hornet killer. They die instantly. With the narrow spray you can practice hitting them in the air. That's what I do. JJK2 points

This may “sound” strange, but take a film capacitor and tap with your fingernail. Test several. Pick the most musical sounding.2 points

They are fun, the problem comes in when you think your getting pretty good, then it get's painful somehow. It's kind of like riding a horse, it's fun but that evening you realize you used muscles not used in a long time. Please don't I am having enough trouble not getting fatter as it is, and with some things i have no willpower.2 points

NEVER used my heater in Huntington Beach. Did turn on the A/C occasionally just to break the heat in the house some. But, one can easily live there and never use either.2 points
