  1. "Semi-auto assault type rifles" Most if not all what your describing is all the same calibers as standard guns, the big difference is some are made to look like a military gun. What ? Because they look like a military gun ? Most pistols, and rifles and quite a few shotguns are semi- auto already, so which ones are you talking about, the ones that look like a military gun ? It don't make sense, full auto, it's already illegal. Don't do guns it seems, or you would know this and not make a statement like i quoted, anyone who knows even a little about guns knows that makes no sense. . .

  9. I’ve had this one for a while, it was mostly just sitting and looking pretty. I’m now using it for a dedicated vinyl system, powering ’83 Heresys. I'd forgotten how much I like this amp, and how great it sounds with Heresys.

  11. Have to give the 2019 Heisman photo credit to my youngest daughter on this one. Had me scratching my head til Christmas. She wouldn't tell me who she was with til Christmas. Nope, not Joe Burrow but another Heisman winner. As a photog you just do NOT get into that event. Figured it was thru her Master's program then found out. Typical kid!

  12. Satuday right? Chillin now with "The Long Run." Survivin so far! French doors are open. Is that a block party or do we all have to have Heineken's and glassy eyes? 😂 Me thinks @JohnJ must be watching his "boys" play a real tough competitor in Wake Forest. 17-0 with 10 minutes left in the first half. Seriously? I'm thinkin 41-7 for a final. They're soft as marshmallow's... 😂 🤣 😂

  15. No it isn't. That is a pervasive myth which is also bait. Do some serious research on what they were thinking. Yes, they knew exactly what they were doing. We did not have much of a standing army at the time, and an armed citizenry would help fend off foreign powers against the fledgling nation (well regulated militia). At the time it would also help fend off any hostiles including natives. It was never meant in the context of using arms against their own government. George Washington led an army to quell the Whiskey Rebellion, read up on that. Follow your own advice: Nothing in the amendment mentions "to protect themselves against the US government."

  16. That's fully auto, you said semi-auto, you have to have a special license for that, in other words you have to go way out of your way to do it legally, mostly by a collector and the percentage of these who make the news for a bad reason is very very small. Most of the people who have these also have many other guns, and have for a long time. I have a bunch of guns, my first was at 12 years old, many I have are semi-auto, it's not the average gun owner you have to worry about it's the people who get one or two and have mental problems or bad intent to begin with, I had to apply and pass a federal background check for some of mine, well since they made it the law many years ago anyway. Illegal well you can buy a cannon or a bomb or just rent a truck if you are set to cause trouble. You would be shocked what $200 worth of simple ingredients can make, don't worry about someone shooting people, they can take out the whole building if they want, worry about that instead of a gun, it's quite a bit more destructive. Most gun owners don't bother with the paperwork for something like that and they rarely get used except around friends of to show off and make a video. BIG difference between the two, full auto or semi, unless your a gunsmith you can change them. But the big question is who would risk going to prison to have something like that illegally, well usually the person who does not respect the law and is up to no good, not your average gun enthusiast that's for sure. No gun I have is worth going to prison for, I'm an average enthusiast. Don't go by the BS on the news or in talking points, they have a agenda and mostly have no idea what they are even talking about as far as what guns are what and what they do, it plain to see by their statements/arguments. It's funny sometimes because it makes no sense when I hear some of this. If someone is up to no good, they will find an illegal gun, or just use a different method, they surely would not go through the trouble to follow the law. And if the limit is one, that is plenty enough if you have bad intentions. It's the people who use them who should be held responsible if anything bad happens. It's not the gun but the operator, I could buy some chemicals and do away with more than I could with a truckload of bullets and guns, it's the individuals intent not his choice of how and why to do it as the problem. 51 years owning a gun/guns and have never even came close harming someone, or ever wanted to, I have no bad intent so the weapon used is irregardless. . .

  22. That’s another benefit of sniped bids. I put in what it’s worth to me, the sniping service, with 5 seconds remaining, uses just enough of my max bid to outbid the high bid. As you say, if someone values it more than I do, I get an “outbid notice.” All that can happen at 3:00AM, while I’m fast asleep. Using sniped bids, I avoid the temptation to increase my max bid during the last minute bidding frenzy, and I get my much needed beauty sleep.

  23. At times, fewer and fewer these days, I put in a bid for what I am willing to spend, then dont look at the add again. If I get it fine, if not, it was worth more to someone else than it was to me. They send an "outbid" notice and I just say darn! I used to check in for the last few minutes and get sucked into upping my bid. That shipped sailed.

  33. New sub-project. This is some of the wood for the risers i will make. They´ll be only around 10cm high, but it´s enough to raise the 1.5s to roughly ear-level on my computer desk. Parts on the left already received some oil.

  34. While it is true that I've helped quite a few Klipsch forum members (and others) to dial-in their loudspeakers using REW measurements and DSP crossovers, it is not true that I take money to do it. I just wanted to clarify that point. I am aware that there are people that apparently take money to do this sort of thing, but I'm also aware that those individuals either work for companies that make the DSP hardware, or are freelancing DSP experts that use more expensive and powerful signal processing applications (and computing resources including PCs) running for-profit DSP applications like Acourate, and JRiver, etc.). My niche is currently in using commonly available DSP crossovers running IIR (i.e., "PEQ") filters to achieve the same audible results--at considerably lower cost to the owner. And while FIR filters used in those higher priced applications can provide even lower phase growth than IIR filters available in off-the-shelf DSP crossovers, I have found that there is a subjective breakpoint in attaining loudspeaker phase flatness that doesn't require FIR filtering for horn-loaded loudspeakers, such as Jubilees, MEHs (such as Danley Synergies), MWM-based and KPT-1515-based loudspeaker stacks, La Scalas, Belles, and Khorns. Additionally, I've found that many hybrid horn-loaded HF/direct radiating bass (such as Cornwall, Forte, Chorus, Heresy, and the balance of the bookshelf and floor-standing Klipsch home theater loudspeakers) respond to the same techniques to a degree such that the need for FIR filtering is either non-existent or low enough to preclude its use. 36. After I built it, I detailed the wood with bondo. It took quite a while as I'd shine a light across the surface looking for pits, filling and sanding them. When I had it to where I thought it was basically perfect, or as perfect as I could get it, I brought it to a friends body shop. They primed it then did an automotive black basecoat with a clear coat topping. @JL Sargent has it now.
