  4. The original and overall theme for Caravanserai - is the eternal cycle of reincarnation, every soul going into and out of life And I think it carries on to the next to the next two albums and adding - souls drifting apart and traveling away Liner notes Carlos already mentioned the following in the liner notes of the rematered edition of their third album : "We were beginning to disintegrate in terms of differences in taste. It's like anything. What used to be honey becomes vinagar. We started to drift apart, because Gregg and Neal Schon already had eyes to do the Journey thing. I think they'd had enough of rhytms or Latin or African, and they wanted to do more of their kind of rock'n'roll".

  8. Think I'll stick with Carlos for the rest of the afternoon! Mellow, excellent guitar and nothing top40 about it AT ALL! This one's cover is still pretty foil but before it got aged sure it was magnificent! What's inside still is!

  10. In the early 70s all the stars got infatuated with gurus. At least it was all about Love back then. It's hatred that they most embody so well now-a-days

  12. Cool, Schon follows Santana in my records. And if you'd pull the above video up at youtube and expand the first post under it? You would see that Neil Schon and Jan Hammer were a part of the show on the above Santana LP. Had this one since my 20s.

  15. I've been busy during COVID working on my small listening space. It is in a building out behind my house with 240V power, heat & a/c, internet and phone. I will probably post more photos if there is interest, but thought y'all might like a couple of teasers. There is supposed to be a large TV on the bracket (you probably guessed that) but I don't have one yet. Ceiling detail: The foreground center ceiling panel is attic access.

  19. I find the adaptation of John Coltran's " a love Supreme " well done. I don't like the other tunes that much. It goes very much in the direction of Free Fusion Jazz Rock that is directed to John Mc LoughlinĀ“s style. I was afraid of that already.

  25. Yes things are real slow. Here, FB, Audicircle, Steve Hoffman Forums, and Wimkin. Repeating same old news over and over or nothing at all. Boring........ Just made a run to the ABC store for supplies. Ketel One half gallon and a flyer.....Jim Beam Repeal bourbon (non cold filtered). The lady waiting on me said it was decent so I got a small bottle (5th). We will see. The high lite of the week will be weekly luncheon with the guys on Friday and then my concealed carry class Sunday. Life in the real slow lane.........

  26. I gave up on Ebay bidding even with bid snipping. One time and one time only have I won a bid that I benefited from. Most of the time it was buy it now. That one time I won was with my 79 Cornwalls that I still own today. Luckily they were local, the description read Klipsch speakers with blown twitters. I offered him $650.00 to cancel auction, he declined and I ended up winning them for around $575.00.

  27. Quiet Today. Hope every one is doing alright in the plague ridden anarchy, w/fires, hurricane in the SE, and the remnants of it raining like h@ll here all morning too. Sorting stuff filling up the dumpster (our govt issued 3.5 ft tall about 60 gal trash cans with wheels) running the dehumidifier all day today I guess! Showered at six, might change clothes and go up in the attic to categorize, remove or keep whatever's up there. At least one of the fake Christmas trees is going, then have to dust off the stereo boxes and bring them down.

  32. A nice bike, like the Klipsch ladder, is a slippery slope that is even more fun to ride. This summer I sold my 2013 Trek 3700 for a little more than it cost me five years ago due the Covid shortage on new bikes. I had picked up a 2018 Norco Storm 1 last fall for $550 (about half the cost of new, and a pretty fair price) and initially thought I would keep both bikes but the improvements in technology made the decision to part easy. 29 inch wheels(clearance and smooth rolling), hydraulic brakes(sure and accurate stops), lockout shocks(for road use) and at least a 9-speed cassette(always a better, faster, or easier gear) are minimum requirements now. A dropper post is sweet too for changing elevations. It all makes sense once you get back on the seat. Which will probably be a pain in the butt until you find the right one. Too soft and you lose power, too hard and you lose the will to go on, lol. Would love to find a carbon fibre full suspension on the used market some day. I would expect to pay a couple grand for one. But man would you ever fly on a lighter bike. I might even consider trading my LSI Splits for the right bike. Have to cross that bridge when I come to it. Either way the wind will always be in my face.

  37. Wow. That is much better than not seriously happy, or seriously miserable with the outcome. Kudos to you who took the plunge and became one of my many "victims." This is what PWK called me when I first met him. LOL. Enjoy the music and all the bass/midrange detail you can possibly squeeze out of those old boxes!!

  39. Well, two of them have stories for sure, thanks for asking. The radio was built by my grandfather, so my grandmother told me. I never knew him, and she's been gone 41 years. She knew how much I loved stuff like that, and even though I was a just a boy she knew I'd hang on to it. The headphones came with it. It has a single 4-pin tube in it. The terminals on the left are ANT and GND, and the terminals on the top right are for headphones, and the remaining four on the right are for A and B battery connections. The leftmost knob is a giant variable capacitor, the middle one is a rheostat, and the rightmost knob is a giant coil-within-a-coil mechanism. The tube has what appears to be a tubular diode or something attached, perhaps as a detector? I dunno. I've never powered it up, though I have the supplies to do so. The whiskey bottle was the "medicinal whiskey" from my parents kitchen cabinet in the house where I grew up. When mom died in 2018, we were cleaning out the house and I found the bottle. It was empty, lol. I kept it. In this photo there isn't, but now there is a protective pad (doily?) on top of the KHorn that this stuff is resting on. The coffee cup speaks for itself. Stolen from PWK. I'm not much of a decorator, but these things remind me of family and of home. The floor is concrete with a rug on it, but I'm seriously considering a laminate wood floor with the rug on THAT, just to give it a more comfy feel. Still working on the other two walls - more lights to hang and foam to put up.

  40. Mike, Both pair of La Scalas have textured surface and the pair of Heresy slant monitors have fiberglass. A friend is doing them for me, but if I were doing it myself, I would remove the trim, Bondo the hell out of the surface and wide belt them. I will try ta attach a picture of the veneer my daughter picked out. Putting grills on all speakers and slant grills on La Scala Bass Bins. Roger
