  1. No. I too was making light of the photo, not criticizing your funny remark. As you know, nuance available through spoken words is lost in the keyboard.

  6. Going back in time again More great and memorable Prog from a supergroup of the 70s Some say it’s the first supergroup in rock history A brilliant album that was a beacon for up and coming artists to follow ( I’m looking at you Jordan Rudess of Dream Theatre ) Some brilliant interplay with drums and keyboards Artist - Emerson Lake & Palmer Title - Tarkus Album ID - https://www.discogs.com/Emerson-Lake-Palmer-Tarkus/release/3813684

Jeeze the cover looks like my patio, except for the urethane caulk leftover I put in it twenty years ago when the chipmunks f'd up a lot here

  15. Scott and I finally met up last weekend, so that I could pick up the E-V ELX118 subs. He drove closer to me, so he saved me a long drive as well. He was right that they are big 26" x 22.6" x 20" each. I finally got a chance to play today, added some bass to my La Scala, now I need to buy an amp to give them more power. My first experience with passive subs, so I will need to do some experimenting. Thank you Scott for the generous offerings to the Forum!

  17. @dirtmudd KRAUTROCK Unlimited Edition is a compilation album by the band Can. Released in 1976 as a double album, it was an expanded version of the 1974 LP Limited Edition on United Artists Records which, as the name suggests, was a limited release of 15,000 copies (tracks 14–19 were added). The album collects unreleased music from throughout the band's history from 1968 until 1976, and both the band's major singers (Damo Suzuki and Malcolm Mooney) are featured. The cover photos were taken among the Elgin Marbles in the Duveen Gallery of the British Museum.

  19. Remember when it came out and I didn't even like the title track. When something lands on your doorstep so to speak and is in M condition you might as well try it out! I'll play it every now and then, since there is no 95Q anymore I've got my own analog catalog. Could maybe go a month or so non-stop without repeating now, I never imagined that! What is usually a folded album cover with an lp on either side is a larger thicker single type. With a cardboard sleeve then a thick paper one on each lp... ok... I love Rumors and the older one with the very similar cover. Think Black Magic Woman is their very best record, and it's a more blues based R&R! That figures... with my tastes!

  34. Wow, this thread moves and grows really quickly. Anyway, in memory of Diana Rigg, here are her first and last appearances on The Avengers. There was always a sexual tension between John Steed and Mrs. Emma Peel, but her husband was absent and presumed dead, and we never found out if that tension between our heroes was ever resolved. As Emma leaves, her replacement, Tara King, arrives.

  35. Cleaning out my basement and some things just have to go. It's amazing how many interconnects and speaker wire I've accumulated over the years..... I've managed to sell all the gear I'm gonna sell....for now. This forum has been really good to me. Free KG speakers just come and pick them up and they're yours. They need work but nothing out of the ordinary considering their age. 1. KG 3.2 Cosmetically they're in good shape. Probably need crossovers but they do work as is. 2. KG 4.2/Black Cosmetically a little rough but nothing a sanding and some paint can't take care of. Probably need crossovers and one woofer. 3. KG 4.2/Light Oak Cosmetically in pretty good shape. Probably need crossovers and one woofer. I was combining one good speaker from each pair of 4.2's to make a working set. They're FREE.....come and get em! I'll drive a reasonable distance to meet you if neccessary. Located in Powers Lake, WI (near Lake Geneva) between Chicago and Milwaukee. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  39. I have always tried to have the same 3 Speakers for the Front Sound Stage. When I bought the RF82 II's I was using the Synergy F20 because it's large and it did sound ok but I wasn't real Happy. Crutchfield had One RF 82II left and I Grabbed it. Now using it as My Center with my New Marantz. Made a Big Difference as I like 4 & 5 Channel Music. For 5 Channel Music a Big Center makes all the difference because a lot of music come through the Center. I also like the sound of this Marantz over the Denon. I'm not using any Sound processing but I do like the sound better. Get a Big Center, it's worth it.

  40. The Primaluna amps offer a lot for their money. Impeccable build quality, autobias circuit, tube freedom, point to point wiring. They are doing it properly! I am currently playing with the Primaluna evo 400 separates on the Klipsch cornwall's. Incredible sound quality. You must hear this ...

  41. Get Ready is the RIAA Platinum-certified second studio album by American blues rock band Rare Earth. It was released on September 30, 1969 by Motown Records. The album spawned one hit single, an 21 : 30 minutes edited version of "Get Ready", which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1970. Well I was 8 years old at that time.

  42. This is a bad photo, but the stained-glass window is fake. I built it, even incorporating a piece of plexi-glas I found in mom&dad's basement. It has an LED panel behind it that is dimmable. I haven't built the circuit yet, but the idea is to have a light sensor on the outside of the workshop near the attic vent that detects the level of light, then the circuit translates that into a dimming voltage for the panel. That way the stained glass window shows the proper light level that is really outside.

  44. It’s a great amp and after a long history of being in the solid state world I took a dive into it. I am very pleased with its sound. I will say that I enjoyed good solid state prior to jumping into this amp (McIntosh MHA headphone/integrated Pioneer SC 09TX, SX 1050, SX 1280, NAD). I have listened to the primaLuna Luna amp through the new Hersey IV and KLF 20s. Currently I have them hooked up with the KLF 20s. This combination provides a very nice clear and crisp open sound With the deep bottom end. Some may find the sound of the amp to be a little bit brighter than the solid state amps I mentioned. Some might say more “airy” or whatever adjective. The mid range through the amp sounds very pleasing, and the bass is very present. I will say the whole debate for me on solid state vs tubes is pretty silly bc honestly I love the sound of my McIntosh amp and I’m still longing to repurchase a pioneer SX amp that I mistakenly got rid of. Lesson learned. I don’t like to run this amp with a heat wave of 100 plus degrees, as my house has a hard enough time keeping cool up with the A/C. It’s good to have the solid state amp instead of the small heater (Evo 400) in these conditions. One thing worth mentioning is the amp has an input for preamp or home theater , and you can use a “Bypass”. Unfortunately, I found it wasn’t that quiet (however note I use very efficient speakers). I use my Mcintosh amp as a digital preamp for the Evo. The aux inputs are much quieter I’ve found. The reason being is that the bypass input has the gain set to unity so you can use whatever preamps volume instead of the primaluna volume. But believe it or not it got quieter over time. Basically There was a slight hum that could be heard through my highly efficient speakers. I’ve found that overall it’s provides a slightly wider sound stage than my very good McIntosh solid state. I did hook the Evo 400 up to friends heresy IIs, and I must mention that I didn’t like the sound of the combination. The Heresy II can sound A bit harsh and thin in my opinion through this, with no subs. It’s unbelievable how different the Heresy IVs sound vs the old Heresy II. In a nutshell, this Evo 400 sounds very good. It’s basically the best sounding thing in my setup. edit: I did compare the headphone stage vs the McIntosh Headphone/integrated amp. I found it to be a close tie. The McIntosh headphone amp is just super warm, super quiet, and provides the bass. The Primaluna has a very excellent headphone amp. But Best in the world as claimed by Kevin Deal in his videos? I don’t think so. The solid state just provides a super quiet clean sound. But the tube provides a nice crisp detail sound that has more emphasis in the higher frequencies. And during quiet passages, you know you’re listening to a tube amp.
