I would like to thank you all very much for your condolences.I am listening to music from the YouTube spinning thread. Listening to music helps me to process the grief. The albums of Genesis Family Rarities Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 as well as Genesis " Friends and Relatives " which correspond to my state of mind. I never thought that these three albums would become so significant. Please do me a favour ...keep on spinning and having joy and fun in this thread from now on ....everything is said and mentioned now. Keep in touch Regards George

  3. George, prayers are going up for you and your family. Lost my mother last summer @ 96 and that I'll never forget. It's God's plan for all of us and we have to accept it even though we don't want to. Your Dad is in a much better place now. I'll be praying for you daily brother. May He lift you all up!

  4. I feel for you @MicroMara getting hit twice by fast-balls at once. Sorry for your loss George. Stay strong, sure you know that positive brain power and attitude can help with everything. Know that's difficult right now. You've got some really smart folks over there, keep us posted on your prognosis and how you are. You & yours are in my thoughts & prayers, maybe it's not their suspicion bud.

  20. Update: He's doing better. We found a similar flavor to his old food (pate' vs. flaked) and pureed it also like the old food. Then I picked up a few 10ml. syringes from my pharmacist (no needles) and started force feeding him a couple times a day. There was about as much resistance as expected. The good thing was last night and tonight he started licking the end of the syringe by himself without getting him to open his mouth. The only thing left if to get him to eat from his plate. But we'll get there.

  21. Yea I know all that, but back then there weren't people getting hurt physically, or their livelihood's & life's work being burned to the ground. Dude the hatred is palpable here now. It is sickening. It is towards the ones that value the Ten Commandments, the Constitution, the Golden Rule.... F - it, I'm getting a second shot and playing some tunes in a minute to close out the week! * & if you listen there is simple wisdom out there

  22. Many of his songs from the late 60s and onwards are political as were from many artists of that era And even although he is not an American citizen and can’t vote, he apparently like Sanders ?

  23. Somebody in my "foggy" years loved Neil and I've heard that and so much CSNY that I overloaded on it. That release is about his very best! Can use it sparingly now if I dutifully cast aside his recent hateful political commentary.

  25. unwinding in the doghouse. Streaming JeckBeck Live+. This little system isn't too bad to listen to. Doesn't take a lot to fill a 12 X 12 room....I guess. From the main listening position, it thumps pretty good. Nothin' exciting happening here. Sunny and warm. I almost feel sorry for the weather forecasters. They get excited about a few clouds and some wind. The astronomical events that they cover gives them something t talk about. My mind went into the gutter when I saw the "Man Lift" thread.... random association I watch tractor pulls on tv.... There is/was a tractor "named" Vi- Agri

  29. my definition of "fast food" is shrimp, fish, steak... Things that can come from the freezer and be ready to eat in 15min. I don't eat French Fries. I do make "oven fries". Sliced spud brushed with olive oil and some salt and pepper, in the oven @450` for 15 minutes or so... We buy olive oil by the gallon.... is it too early to think about Christmas/holiday/solstice lighting? reason I ask ... the ones I put up last season finally gave it up... burned out. They did good for 11 months in the branches of the trees. We had a lot of wind this year. That doesn't do them any good. Thinking of doing it different this year. Wrap the trunks and larger branches. See if we can avoid some the the stress of being tugged on when the tops blow....

  30. I went back and looked for your direct question.... and the direct answer to that is "no" (which I presume you know by now) With my old dbx BX-1 amp biamped with the McIntosh MC-2102 on top, and now the Crown K2's for each speaker.... I've probably gone toe to toe with anyone here with leaning into the volume. I was finishing the basement and had the Jubilee's upstairs screaming their lungs out. You'll be fine. I can get into more details if you wish (of having it pounding upstairs when CD changed to much hotter recording and it went from pounding to freaking thunderous.... to the point, I KEPT my -30 db hearing protection on to race up there to turn it off..... as I was dashing to system, I was curious to power usage.... the meters on the McIntosh 2102 (100 watts/channel) were pegged and not moving. It was violent loud.)

  31. Eggs in the morning are pure protein ,that's ok , eat as much as you want , and this will help the body muscles , but avoid the sausage and bacon as it raises the bad Cholesterol --replace it with cheddar and lean meat like chicken , fish , extra lean minced beef , roast beef , potatoes - later on by 1-2 hours ,and once you are active , you should eat meat sandwiches , but lay off the french fries , hot dogs and all these very salty ,fatty , full of preservatives foods , instead eat quality meat , chicken , pork , turkey , fish , steak , roast beef -salad , with cheese and vegetables - it's not how much you eat , that counts , but what you eat , and avoid fast food when you get older is best -

  33. eating light is not in my vocabulary... No problem with weight, except lack of... since I was 3. That's the last fat photo you'll find of me. Oh... we are getting locally grown heirloom tomatoes. finally. Was too warm in the early part of the season to get any in July. They won't set fruit when it gets too warm... which has been the theme for this summer. talking about a few more 100`+ days [in Tucson] before a break. 99` Wheeeeee!!!

  36. that's not so tough... ya have gravity working for ya. The pisser is having extra up there...especially if you had to lug it up. I see that there is a claim the CBD rich marijuana may be useful in lessening vulnerability to covid... Almost moving now. Fresh coffee and a light breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs, toast and sausage. Bread is making dumb question to egg eaters How many eggs do you consider a serving? I typically eat 3 or 4. Particularly scrambled. I got some funny looks when I went thru 2 orders of Eggs Benedict. Maybe because I am quite thin... I dunno

  37. I did some roofing (shingles) in 1972 when I got out of college to make some money for my pilgrimage to California. The roof would get so hot that I poured water from the cooler into my boots. That on top of 2 pairs of socks. My friend and fellow traveler for the pilgrimage was use to roofing and would wear low cut Keds and no socks and not complain. Guess you could call me tenderfoot.

  40. Last time I did any roofing, I had to pay a guy to get the #90 felt up to the roof. I could pick the rolls OK... getting them up the ladder ... No. There isn't enough of me to counter-balance the weight

  44. Hi-ya @grasshopper We have 40s at night regularly the past week or so, I would open up but our humidity goes up right around dusk to 60 - 80%. That's when I close up. I've had the fresh air through here the past week when it's in the 40% range. Changed the air filter... at (*@&ing $10 + a pop it gets changed quarterly only now but that 1500MPR cleans a lot out of the air. I only have to vacuum the ceiling fans once a year since using those. Woke up to 58 inside several days now and I can't see or smell that it tripped the heat on yet that's set at 60. It's on a two degree variance instead of the zero tolerance setup. I always smell the heat the first time it's used each year, like dust on the coils gets burned off or something. Busy few days and I'm beat. Elijah Craig to the rescue 1oz with an oz of water... I'm warmed up again and sure I'll sleep until six tomorrow!

  45. Made it back alive! Great time, great tunes. What we need is lighter speakers when we get older. Glad I have a flat bed available, so don't have to move them around too much!! Four LS sound great outdoors. The THTLP definitely kicked it up a notch. I'll post more later. I felt bad about the hijack of this thread until I saw the OP was Carl. backstage:

  47. Been a bit insane running this week. In and out for the most part. Glad to see @grasshopper is above ground and able to stick his head in. Couple auction runs this week for a couple deals. Had too! Cleanin out the garage is fun too. Might get this place a bit more organized by Christmas. Took a lil break this evening and relaxed. *** Side note... Does anyone besides @oldtimer know how many times they've had to get up to either flip or change an lp??? The thoughts I have at times when I immerse myself.... Just put Winwood "Arc of The Diver" on to finish up the evening.
