  1. Below freezing at night to over 70F in the afternoon? That’s wild. Imagine having to work outdoors on night shift, wearing your winter coat and getting home in time to see people in light jackets or even no jackets heading off to work. That would frost my arse, so to speak.

  4. I was getting a new license once and the lady at the DMV was acting peculiar. They had my photo in the computer from my previous license. I finally asked her if something was wrong. she gets her supervisor and is convinced that I was not who I was saying that I was. she said I didn't look anything like the photo that they have on file. fortunately, her boss wasn't buying her story. Poetic justice I guess ... before I was of drinking age, I had a fake ID ... NOT one with my photo either. I go to the store to buy some beer and arrogantly go to the cashier thet I went to school with. She knew it wasn't me. She calls her manager and tells him that I have a fake ID. he looks and tells her that it is good. She says "I know him, this isn't him." the manager said, "yes it is, look at the eyes, they're the same." She was pissed and I got my beer.

  5. Ya see that movie Dave? Cannot hear that song without thinking Samuel L Jackson & his quote of Ezekiel 25:17! And the disco kid with another pretty lady too. Now that movie was audacious when it came out! Been a Floydian weekend, and I'm feeling it now, never would have when this song came out. Just thinkin' ...

  7. Long ago I "thought" about pictures with ppl I knew. Then I thought "why" so never got in any. Quality was terrible. Today, I think it's funny w/the new fb crowd and technology. Gotta get a pic yet I've never asked and won't. Today Joe Walsh and many others have expanded on that idea. Yup, for an extra $200-300 per ticket you can get that "meet and great" ticket and you're fb pic. We laffed and laffed one day over that. Like fishin in a stocked pond and ya don't even need bait. Ya get a "How ya doin!" IF she's good lookin. One after another. Calls it everyone's retirement fund. lolol Smile! You high man??? Open your eyes now and smile. 😂 😂

  9. Dishwasher. DISHWASHER! We don’t need no stinkin’ dishwasher. Just me and the wife - why do I need to run water and a heating element for an hour and a half to wash a few dishes? We don’t. Finish the meal, spend all of ten minutes at the sink, put ‘em away. Although I’ve never figured out why it takes her ten minutes to wash dishes - 😉

  10. Yeah Gary....how far we have fallen talking about dish washers! At least it's not speakers being broken in or broken down😉 If I ever get another camera I'll join you gents over at Right This Minute. Though I do go to bed before most of you guys get started.

  14. That was a major disappointment. Sparty MUST beat Hoosiers Tuesday and steal a game from Michigan. Winning one against Wolverines is unlikely. Winning both against U of M is not happening.

  15. Photo Time. The tweeter and squawker lenses appear identical on both speakers. Only the woofers look different. And that’s mostly the printed logo. I’ll have to start pulling parts to get to the bottom of this. Sorry the photos are rotated. Hope nobody gets vertigo.

  22. Since I don't have vaulted ceilings, I think I'd better stay with the in-ceiling speakers that I can aim. I like the idea of the separate woofer and traditional horn tweeter arrangement though.

  24. I agree completely with this. My good system makes bad recordings sound bad, which makes me question the whole journey. A listen to a great recording puts it all back into perspective.

  25. Thank you, Sir! As much as I would love to have a 504 in the wheel house, had a hard time just coming off 150 bucks for a set of K77 from Jim LOL. With Hot Rod season approaching quickly, the 504 is low on the priority list ATM. ...it is the thought that counts and much appreciated friend

  26. You just need to find a favourite, fairly dynamic, well-recorded tune that you really like but don’t play that often. Whenever your system starts sounding like just another stereo, pop that tune on/in and turn up the volume. Sometimes it’s necessary to remind yourself what your system can do, and why you like it so much better than those ordinary ones.

  31. Hello everyone, I am considering selling my 1980's Belles in nice condition. There is a couple pieces of veneer pieces missing but if the future buyer is good at veneer, they might prefer doing it them selves?. The fabric in excellent condition and they sound amazing. They have new Type A crossovers and horn to driver gaskets. I'm deciding if I should replaced the veneer or sell as is. What is the average selling price of these speakers? I've seen prices from $2,000 up to $4500 on Ebay? I'm moving to a much smaller place. The placement would be horrible so it doesn't make sense keeping them. I've already sold my LaScalas. I plan on replacing them with some RB-75's or something similar. They are located in Las Vegas, NV.

  39. Great pic. I love baseball. Played for 12 years. 20 months ago I had a complete shoulder rebuild on my throwing arm. Doc said to stay away from really throwing anything for 12-18 months. I recently joined a gym and have been throwing a basketball actually (when nobody's around) and I'm thrilled that is seems to be working great...still have the aim 😄 and the strength is building also. I went outside earlier and threw snowballs for about an hour, felt wonderful. Half court shot, throwing a basketball......3 out of 10.

  40. So how was this done? That is simple. First make a box for the K-402 horn (the big one). The foot print should be about an inch or two larger than the foot print for the Jubilee bass bins. This will allow you to bolt a panel (sheet of 1/2 inch plywood) to each side of the "tweeter box" and not have it rattle against the bass bin. Second, make a platform for the bass to elevate it a couple of inches. Attach carpet underneath so the bins can slide on the floor. Third, the front grill is actually the difficult part. I made mine with a gentle curve that follows the front edges of the bass bin cabinet (take a birds eye view from the top) and is a few inches deep overall. The sides are straight and extend a few inches beyond the width of the cabinet (with the attached side panels). Again, the front piece (grill) is wider enough so it does not touch the side panels. It simply rests (hangs) on the top of the tweeter box. Go to Joann's Fabrics (with your significant other) and find a light cloth with a bit of stretch. The choice of cloth can help blend the structure to match the wall or decor. I did a mock up with black cloth and it was just too much for a small room. Remember, I did not want the first reaction when entering the room to be "OMG there huge speakers over there". Staple the cloth to the front grill piece and do this so the staples are hidden from the front and sides . In my case there is wood trim attached over row of staples to hide them. I put this trim in the back so the grill would not look like a picture frame. In my case I also attached/bent a piece of maple (1/4 inch stock with tung oil finish) to add a finished look to it. I hope this inspires some to take a look at the Jubilee and seriously consider them for their own home without getting bent out of shape by raw, industrial cosmetics. The construction is fairly simple and can be done any average DIYer. Good luck, -Tom
