My uncle heard the heresys I rebuilt and was floored with how good they sounded. He wanted a pair so I set off to find something for him. I came across an old beat up pair for Tangent 400s and figured they’d be worth refinishing, they are essentially a heresy ii after all. I added 1/8 inch Baltic birch (thinking this might be dual purpose by adding stiffness to the cabinet) on the sides and top. I had to wood fill some gaps from the side on the rear of the speaker. Cut a 45 degree around the whole face and then painted it with exohyde from parts express with a textured roller. Still in the process of oiling it with boiled linseed. Maybe a few more coats while I decide on which caps to use on the crossovers. Suggestions welcome.3 points

Native to the Philippines and parts of Asia. There are also purple sweet potatoes grown in Hawaii and elsewhere, not to be confused with the yams (ube).3 points

Well, this morning I was able to get him in almost immediately to the vet. They think that everything is being triggered by a really bad inner ear infection. They gave him a steroid shot, an antibiotic shot, and a anti-nausea injection. As soon as we got home, he seems much improved. They also sent away for a culture of his ear infection so we know we are treating it correctly. They feel his head movements, balance, and eyesight issues are all caused by this infection, which I guess is great news. After putting one dog down only five days ago, it’s amazing how fast my heart sunk seeing Pita like this over the weekend. Thank you everyone so much for the continued prayers and support. 🤗Placed an order today for a pair of Cornwall IVs in black ash, I have wanted a pair sense I first heard them in the early 80s! Retiring later this year and thought it would be a good way to start my new journey.2 points

Second Moderna today. So far still alive, yet I have this feeling that I am one day closer to death---thanks Pink Floyd. Long term side effects include eventual death, I'll let you know when that happens so the anti-vaxxers can say I told you so, if they are still alive.2 points

Would have tried that when I was a kid just because it looks so cool! Purple ice Cream!2 points

Yams ice cream, and it's purple, very purple, now that's compleatly different.2 points

That was easy with a single jumper. Does the 396 actually have that in the crossover? I didn't see it mentioned in the literature.2 points

Laurie, Sorry for your loss. I grew up just outside DC, near Bethesda, Kensington to be exact. Impressive list of speakers with serial numbers You might want to put a generic location for people on this board such as: Eastern Shore, DC burbs, Balto County, Western Maryland etc. With some patience, you should be able to sell everything on this board. Since they are new in Box You might want to look up the prices for new new and ask 50% The Belles are no longer sold, so new LaScalas might be a good comparison. Others on this board buy and sell frequently and may have their own thoughts on pricing. The older "Heritage" models you have are back in style, which is to your benefit. Terms, I always ask (demand) buyer pick up and cash. In the middle of the day. For high dollar items it's always good to have a friend with you. Personally, I would be wary of anyone that hasn't been posting on the board until your ad. Good luck with your sale.....2 points

Your right beauty is in the Eye of the beholder, But this was an add selling an amp, It in no ways asks, nor needs anyone's negative comments about their OPINION of what the amp looks like. If you don't like it, Move along and keep your ill informed comments too yourself. Its called curtesy, Seems some folks have no concept of the word or use there of.2 points

Thanks guys, I certainly will. I don't even have fancy electronics but I'm still looking forward to hear them from my mid-tier Onkyo home theater receiver. The Cornwalls will be displacing R-28 towers and a pair of 12SW subs. I may use the towers as rear surrounds for theater listening and I may still use the subs (though in a different location, as they won't fit in their current location, along with the Cornwalls). I'm feeding the A/V receiver with a Schiit Modius DAC through its "CD input" analog input. I feel like it sounds better but I don't know about the integrity of its analog signal path. Causing me to take my own hearing with a grain of salt haha. Honestly even when I do upgrade from Onkyo I dont have current plans to get a set of amp/dac separates. I've been eyeing the Marantz SR6015\7015 and the Denon X3700/X4700. I've been hoping for measuremnts before I bought either Marantz as last years models did not measure near as well as the comparably priced Denons.2 points

I had planned to get out and do some things today, but I powered up the system and sat down to eat brunch, and then started listening at quite a bit higher volume than I usually do. The music really came alive, and I stayed and heard more, and more, and now it's only a couple of hours until suppertime. Oh well, sometimes doing what you like is more important than doing what you should. I didn't need to go out. BTW, I'm really enjoying Radio Paradise, from Paradise, California, near San Diego, on Net Radio. They play a pretty eclectic mix of music, and the sound quality is quite high. The mix of familiar and unfamiliar music is north pleasant and informative, which is good. I hear music I'm familiar with, and music I'd like to know more about. The nameless DJs don't mention who they are, but they do speak a bit about the music they played in the last arc, as they sometimes call a session/set.2 points

Do you know the warm progress under the stars? Do you know we exist? Have you forgotten the keys to the kingdom? Have you been born yet, and are you alive? Let's reinvent the gods, all the myths of the ages Celebrate symbols from deep elder forests Have you forgotten the lessons of the ancient war? We need great golden copulations. The fathers are cackling in trees of the forest Our mother is dead in the sea Do you know we are being lead to slaughters by placid admirals and that fat slow generals are getting obscene on young blood? Do you know we are ruled by T.V.? The moon is a dry blood beast Guerrilla bands are rolling numbers in the next block of green vine amassing for warfare on innocent herdsman who are just dying O great creator of being, grant us one more hour to perform our art and perfect our lives The moths & atheists are doubly divine and dying We live, we die and death not ends it. Journey we more into the Nightmare Cling to life our passioned flower Cling to C..ts & c..ks of despair We got our final vision by clap Columbus's groin got filled with green death I touched her thigh and death smiled. We have assembled inside this ancient insane theatre To propagate our lust for life flee the swarming wisdom of the streets The barns are stormed The windows kept And only one of all the rest will dance & save us With the divine mockery of words. Music inflames temperament. When the true King's murderers are allowed to roam free a 1000 Magicians arise in the land Where are the feasts we are promised? Where is the wine, The new wine, dying on the vine?2 points

`How the hell would you know ? I would pit this amps sound against anything 1K and below......................Its not a beauty queen but it sure sounds beautiful. Which is what audio is supposed to be about !!!!!!!!2 points

Part of the project would include replacing both woofers, as they seem old and a bit worse for wear. The spot on the front of the cabinet appears to be dirt and not damage, so I'm not worried about that particularly. The Eminence Delta Pro 12-A has proven itself to be a great replacement woofer at less than $150, that can handle gobs of power.2 points

Is this an easy process? I am thinking about getting the Klipsch KPT-396 and it has a curved baked in as well.1 point

YIKES! Since I've been taking immunosuppressants I've been like the proverbial "Canary in a Coal Mine" But even as a kid yea bees, wasps their pain starts immediately then goes away quickly. Hornets? never got stung by one of them until I was halfway through my thirties. I've had where they got me (three of them at once) throb with pain for a few hours even a decade later. Spiders sting for a second then like a pulled muscle that hurts the next morning, their pain starts a few days later when their poison is messing with your muscle. Whenever I've seen one since my Z-Rock days I can hear "Die mfr Die" in my memories before I spread them out! Scraping then priming that window I spent too much time in that bush before he bit me and died. Back to normal now, treated it similar to a snake bite and it worked for me.1 point

Installing the jumper was easy. Figuring out where to put it was what Bob did and shared. There was no jumper or mention of a jumper in the 100s till I sent Bob one of mine and he figured out how to do it. I haven't had the crossovers out of my 396's but if they do indeed have the X curve built in and someone figures out how to defeat it, I'd pull mine and do it.1 point

Yes., rather than the taxi from Africa, I'd rather ride on the bullet train from Tokyo to Los Angeles, as Shirley Manson of Garbage sang. Stinky boots? Have you got python boots that won't come off, and now you have Stink Foot, as Frank Zappa sang? Good rock music really does cover everything!1 point

The world on fire. Taxi from Africa. The grand hotel. He was drunk. A big party last night. Back, going back in all directions. Sleeping these insane hours. I'll never wake up in a good mood again. I'm sick of these stinky boots.1 point

Rear surrounds don't get a lot of sound sent to them. The 400s should work great for you. I actually eliminated my rear surrounds because I sat so close to them.1 point

Yeah the cascade of closings has gone everywhere now it seems. Sitting out here on the farm life goes on pretty much as normal so I don't keep fully up to date on all this nonsense.1 point
