FINALLY got some time to unzip this new Rory Gallagher 50th Anniversary tri-fold. Sides A&B are never before released out takes. The out takes are nicely done and tight renditions of some great stuff. The other two lp's are also great. It's tight, clean and very nicely done imo. $60? Yup, I'd do it again!6 points

I used to own a cassette tape (original, no copy) of the soundtrack of Bird. Must be somewhere on the attic now. I remember reading the tiny print of it, telling that the jazz music of the movie was re-recorded with modern techniques and present day musicians. But it appears to have been even more complex, says Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_(1988_film)#Music I would love to see that movie again, but it is hard to find on blu-ray.4 points

Oh you need one of those clear audio rigs. Anything less and we will/we will mock you...3 points

Next year I plan to buy maybe a new turntable . Let's see, I noticed today from the German company "CLEAR AUDIO" a tangential TT that I find quite interesting...The TT is called " Jubilee " ...Available in different designs. I don't know yet whether it will be one of those. Actually, I love the classics of Micro Seiki so much that it could also be a new old and completely revised Micro Seiki. This one is the bigger brother from mine ... I'm still very happy with mine, but after good 40 years I think about it once in a while to get a new or another TT.3 points

Our facility has a contract with the city to staff their recycling drop off sites. One person is a regular staff and the rest are our clients we support (developmental disabilities mostly). We drop off our old computer parts, dead and broken gear. One my coworkers, who came here from Russia, always looks to see what anyone else has dropped off. He has brought back a lot of great stuff, often just out of warranty, so a company is getting rid of it, etc. Got a mint condition Intel server, minus the drives. A few Macbooks... some Dell laptops. He brought back three Dell Workstations, dual cpu sockets. I got one and he took another. We ordered four Xeons (12 core) and two more CPU fan/heatsinks... cost us about $100. My son had memory which he sent me. Short story is I now have a computer with 12 cores/24 threads, and 64 gig of ram.You can't even hear it running., and it will handle way more than I can throw at it.3 points

Hi I will also put my 5 cents in as I have built almost the same project but in two separate blocks. Tweeter is B&C de10 with Dave small eliptrack, squawker is B&C DCM50 with fastlane 400 horn and woofer is crites 1526c. Crossover for now is upgraded Crites(with duelund) but it is temporary due to long waiting time for ALK. Currently, I stuck with crossover because crites and ALK allows for maximum 12db attenuation and it seems it isn't enough... With best regards, Andrew.3 points

Interesting evening. My "Pod" turned out to be an 10' circle on the blacktop in a parking lot next to the Marathon Oil Company's Civic Center in Findlay, Oh. Pod cost was $100 so it was actually $15 each. About 15 "Pods" total were put down for those worried about Covid. The rest of the crowd paid $13 each to stand behind the bicycle fence behind us for 2 hours while we sat in our lawn chairs. Total attending? Like 200 people total. Albert put on a great show and I had the opportunity to chat w/him a bit after. Great guy! Taught some of the farmers just a bit about the blues. Summer concert series finale for the town. 45 minutes away so that worked too!3 points

Based on the original question, the Answer is NO, You didn't get screwed according to ALL the answers you got. Crites got a great reputation on this Forum over several years and it's pretty crappy on your part to try and tear it down publicly here. You should be ashamed of yourself. All responses here are from HONEST people, not "fanboys." No one who knows Michael and his Late Dad, Bob, has EVER had a problem dealing with them. They are, perhaps, slow to update their web site, but who isn't? So stop beating the dead horse, enjoy your brand new networks with good Poly Caps, and quit wasting our frikkin' TIME! Over and out.3 points

Different woman, this photo is a resistance fighter, I believe in the battle for Paris, age 19-21. A woman of the French resistance movement who is a member of a patrol routing out Germans snipers still left in areas of Paris France on August 29, 1944. She is carrying a German Schmeisser submachine gun or MP40. Pinterest Simone Segouin who went under the name Nicole Minet was 18 years old at the time of the invasion of France. A French Resistance fighter and a member of the Francs-Tireurs et Partisans (FTP) group, Nicole captured 25 German prisoners during the fall of Chartres, this was witnessed by both American troops and journalists. After the liberation of Paris where Nicole also fought, she was promoted to lieutenant and awarded the Croix de Guerre. Pinterest3 points

I agree entirely. and to those saying that Crites advertises sonic caps. They do. For THEIR crossovers3 points

Oh crap! That just broke my heart because I didn't know until now! Although I did have a hard time reaching him the last time we spoke in December, but he said he was "on the mend." I'm saddened beyond belief at the moment. Bob and I spoke on the phone at length, several times, toward the end of 2020. We laughed and talked about our USAF experiences, music and other things we had in common. He is a great guy and our hobby is wounded with the loss of his expertise. I know I am....sigh3 points

Price is fair and the builder did a good job. I'm guessing the Sonicaps were unavailable in the required value, so a proper substitute was used (Klipsch probably did this all the time). Any good business has a second and/or third source available for parts. The brand of capacitor does not matter at all. As long as all the parameters and the type of dielectric is the same (which it is). Neither does the low tolerance if they are measured and hand selected for their Accurate Value, it's just as good or better. As long as it SOUNDS good when used in the speakers it was designed for..........................Don't worry, be happy. Otherwise, it's just "bitchin' bout nuthin"3 points

No new receiver, yet.... I may be getting another laptop ... for $10. My wife calls me frugal -- I say "cheap". I'll have to take a drive to Yuma for it. A reconditioned unit from a friend. I don't care about old/new... I don't use my "computer" for much more than communications device, photo processing and streaming music. It will a nice time, to visit friends. Make big smoke, tell bigger stories and have some laughs. That will happen mid Oct, when they get back from the PNW... Still thinking I'll be able to get a receiver local. From a shop in Tucson. The stereo hospital referred old clients to a "new" guy... I assume he has some older stuff left behind...2 points

The ad states that the owner "use to restore vintage equipment". A very interesting choice of words ..... "restore". It brings to mind the episode where the Three Stooges were the plumbers.2 points

I agree with this. Tell me if I am wrong.............but if you look at the schematic, I believe only C1 matters anyhow as the other caps are in shunt positions and not directly in the signal path. I have used Dayton caps and they are not quite as revealing as Sonic caps. But for $300 you did not get ripped off. The networks look nicely built. Replace the C1 caps if you feel the sound is not up to snuff. I doubt the others matter at all.2 points

My Flagship Pre-Amp has arrived today from its repair and service. I have owned it for 5 years now and it was the first time I had problems. The cost of repair was just under 200 €. I´m very happy that I can now return the borrowed English Camtech preamplifier to my friend. The Camtech plays well but doesn´t have the class of my Marantz.2 points
