  3. More guitarists, this one has a booklet inside of it. Recall Leslie West? He wasn't round when this was put together in 2011, good for him! A bit better than Pat's above, just some good ol' rock & roll.

  7. I just turn up those twin 18's and go with it. Not nearly as violent for the old guy. The chair looks interesting but finding a beautiful blonde to ride with me is the tough part. Sat down w/a friend in Nashville who only drinks Gran Patron Platinum. I'd never heard of it but that night while he was playin his cigar box I found out. We were both dazed and TOTALLY confused but had a lot of laffs. His wife? Not so much.

  8. Got some more in from my splurge earlier last month. Had to get some that weren't KC. Liked this guy's tunes since... since he covered "Born Under a Bad Sign" that and a couple others from Crash & Burn were on the list at that exemplary FM 95Q The Album Station. There is another, a # 2 I'll keep my eyes peeled for. Heck he even covers a UFO tune here... maybe theirs was a cover too!

  12. One of the sportswriters I know just cranked this out. Who knows? When the AP college football rankings are released later today, there is a chance the Big Ten will have five teams ranked in the top 12. And that has ever been done in the conference's rich history since the poll began in 1936, to my knowledge. Penn State (5-0) and Iowa (5-0) should be at No. 3 and 4, respectively. (They meet Saturday in Iowa City). Ohio State (4-1) will jump from No. 11 to No. 8 in all probability since No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 10 Florida each lost. Behind the Buckeyes closely will be Michigan (5-0) and Michigan State (5-0). The Wolverines likely will make the biggest jump in the polls this week from their No. 14 spot after whipping Wisconsin 38-17. Pollsters will be careful to keep Oregon, upset 31-24 at Stanford in overtime, one slot ahead of the Buckeyes. Cincinnati, meanwhile, may jump past Oklahoma to No. 5, after winning at Notre Dame and suddenly appears to have a great chance at becoming the first Group-of-Five team to make the College Football Playoff.

  13. Shop vacs = work. I just fire up the blower. Works great on your car interior too! Get rid of the junk, roll the windows down and have at it. Found $20 one day that flew out from under my seat. 😂

  14. Will they ever do another show/tour? Doubtful, I think. Session and solo work of course but to ever "do it" again? Geez Louise... I just can't visualize Joe in a hoveround... BUT I can tell you this much he'd have a blast running thru a crowd on one. 😂

  17. mornin' all Kinda fresh this AM and I'm not moving too good yet. I need to bask in the sun.... It is around 45`F. Windows are half open. It might be 65` in the house... maybe. Prolly close to 55`. I visited Liliput Friday. Went to the school for a minute. I was a head taller than anyone in the place.... and that was staff. Most of the kids were waist high. Granddaughter was all excited to see me. That made my day. I guess I need to buy a shop vac. The old one served me well for many years of regular use. It has been making noises [bearings] for years... 10 or so....I've been shooting Tri-Flow in it. Tri-Flow is basically WD40 with teflon in it...good stuff. Anyway, I was going to use the vac yesterday. Turned it on and all I got was a short groan out of it. No magic smoke. No sparks. No excitement. Thinking about jumping the switch... just to see. The motor doesn't even try. Acts like it's not getting any juice. Hardly worth the effort when I can buy one for less than $100. .

  18. Yeah, seems like I would also need to get some MCMs to explore the pro sound and the pro amps. For now, I recently went to 2" horns (2380 copies) and very large JBL D405 drivers, totally blown away. Never going back to the small stuff.

  26. I don't think the Node is the end all be all. It is just one alternative besides a PC, Mac or a host of other streaming options. Yes it has built in Dacs but I didn't think the Dacs in my Node 2I sounded as good as my stand alone Dac. But you can easily connect straight from the Node to a preamp if you prefer. The convenience of the Nodes are that they are fairly small and wirelessly connect to the Internet. Bluos has an easy to use interface and mine never has any dropouts. I stream from my MacBookPro computer to my KEF LS500 Ws all the time and I think that works great too but the MacBook is much larger than the Node and the LS50 Ws have built in amps, a Dac and DSP. Many ways to access music. The Node is just one way that sounds pretty good to my ears. But... I still like vinyl so wtf do I know???

  27. Now spinning: With my better reiceiver and cd player one can really hear its age... Ed.: Just saw it out of the corner of my eye; there is a new recording, bigger orchestra, the way it was sopposedly planned for the movie, two discs.

  28. One of the most important parts of a preamp is the volume control. When you go from an ALPs pot to something like a transformer or LED attenuator the difference is not subtle. Stepped attenuators with silver contacts are very good too.

  31. Jason, that’s really not like him at all. I can’t imagine what might have happened but I think the best solution is to either try to get in there personally or send someone, being very understanding that some thing odd may have occurred. That’s all I can think of. 18 months is really unacceptable, so something is definitely wrong here. PM me if you like.

  32. Not exactly what you asked, but similar. I’m using RB-61II as front height speakers with La Scalas & Heresys in a 5.1.2. They work well in that role. But I doubt they’d be better than RS7s.

  33. Damn man those speakers aren't even that old!! I've seen / owned 30+ year old speakers in better shape... sad. Still a decent deal I guess if they were still the original price I'd be clicking buy it now right now, at $3800 I think I'll pass, would rather spend a little more than that for something minty.

  34. Changed capacitors do not scare him off. What concerns him is terrible work by previous techs. The secret to dealing with Casper is to deal with him on a face-to-face basis and to form a relationship with him. He is seriously overwhelmed with work in the last year or so and where he normally would take 3 to 6 weeks to complete a unit, his work load is now typically between 8 to 12 weeks. and, I would recommend that if you don’t know about his work or his shop that you not make negative comments about him. I have had at least 20 to 25 very positive experiences with him. Never had an issue.

  35. I’m surprised that a single 12” sub can keep up with the output of a pair of lascalas. My vote is for a couple of 15” subs. That’ll git er done. 2nd choice is a good vinyl front end. Shakey

  40. I just want to add that this album sounds amazing: no hiss, no rumble, excellent bass and highs. It's kind of fantastic to listen to it through the Leben CS300 and 1972 Heresy speakers.

  41. In the past couple of years, my wife has bought some vinyl records for me, as a present. But this week, a first: she bought a vinyl (double) album for herself: Bart Peeters, De Kat Zat op de Krant. He's a gifted, multitalented person and hugely popular in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. My wife's a fan, and she has most of his music, if not all, on CDs. So I asked her, why spinning vinyl this time? After pausing and reflecting somewhat, she said she liked the warmth of the sound, the tactile experience, the nostalgic, cosiness of it. I'm teasing her about the fact that she ordered a signed album and she secretely has a crush on him! 🤣

  42. I thought that was pretty whiny, too. He claims that he’s embarrassed because the whole world has seen his infant wiener. Big frickin’ deal! We’re guys. We don’t care who sees our genitals. Some of us, the ones with very poor judgement, send pictures of our tackle to women, and maybe even to some men. Jay Leno even had a pose during a joke to represent a guy “showing off”. He would stand with his hands on his hips, with his elbows back and a proud/smug look on his face, and would turn first a bit to one side, then a bit to the other side. The meaning was clear to everyone, but it was not rude, merely a bit risqué. BTW, I use the term “tackle”, rather than the more common “junk”, because that term seems really disrespectful to some of the most popular, sometimes even kissable, parts of our anatomy. It’s equipment to do a job, e.g. tackle, and hopefully it does that job well. Junk, on the other hand, is usually ugly and undependable. And no geriatric comments about that last sentence, please.

  43. As I was typing my "to stay on topic" post, you quoted my post about being lucky not hearing differences. I felt my post was off topic, so I created another one "on topic" with a recent experience. It was not a response to you. I should have just edited my post, but man I really need to get my post count up. Some people post like 300 times a day!

  44. As Front Height, not Surround. Older pic, but have been running this configuration for a couple of years now. Not quite the same effect as the true ceiling mount Atmos setup I have in my dedicated home cinema, but for my family room, it works great. Yeah, Chorus II are not exactly Heritage, but are Extended Heritage in theory. I think the surround channels would be more problematic with timbre match though. Most of the content that I listen to in this space utilizes the RP-160M's for added ambiance and channel separation. Especially enjoying Dolby Atmos Music, but admittedly is less effective in my setup when providing a discrete lossless channel. For me, in my space, I am very satisfied and wouldn't have it any other way.
