I would never insult Uncle Eddie in that way — at least Clark was offered a beer, backwash included. I was plain ol’ turned away -3 points

I was the original buyer of the those B2 networks straight from Dean. Besides the unobtanium Jupiter flat stack capacitors they also have the no-longer-available wax dipped/infused autoformers that Dean had made by Universal Transformer (ironically just a couple miles away from where I live, and a long time mfgr to Klipsch). Very good sounding networks if you're into believing that sort of thing has an impact. GLWS on the whole package Schu.2 points

Glad I got to watch and listen to EC up on the stage, talent like that can not be imitated. I'm banging-hard today... these guys started in the 90s if I'm not mistaken finished then also. They shook the foundation & shocked the chaperones when they performed! NSFW! or innocent ears there are four letter words in here. *There's a mean version of a Cactus tune in there also!2 points

Well my heart and trigger are wired uniquely I guess, #7 is my favorite on that one. Knew you'd get a kick out of the comment though. Like all my favorite records my best track has changed since I first got them!2 points

OK, I shipped out an amp that weighed 50 pounds roughly. I don't have the dimensions, but it was packed well. Would have been 150 fully insured. I ended up paying $65 fully insured. Just trying to aid others. What do you use for shipping? Maybe you have something better than this? Do tell.2 points

I've been saying for the past few years, Franklin is not a good coach or recruiter, because he's not a good coach, his staffing has been questionable, and the results are evident. He's stuck with a QB that has, and continues to make poor decisions and is at best, mid grade, but obviously, they can't recruit anything better, or they would be, or should be playing. Been a Pennstate fan since I was a child, but I call it like I see it, and they need to find a replacement coach, oh but they signed the bum to a 6 year extension last year. It pains me to say this, but I will be shocked if OSU doesn't run all over PSU, and after yesterdays game, they should be booted out of the top 20, and could lose another 3 games. This is 100% on Franklin, his recruits across the board, and his coaching staff.2 points

Have you read it before? I’m curious about your opinion. I hope you enjoy it. I forced myself to re-read that a few years ago. I still didn’t see why it is widely considered to be the great American novel; seems to be a bit of the emperor’s new clothes to me. To describe Melville as wordy is an understatement. A single sentence can consume more than a full page. I’m not saying it’s not good, or not worth reading (even more than once), I’m saying, IMO, it’s overrated.2 points

Glad you got around to saying that. Was going to. Replacement for mine is 5.98. Likely just to speak to a repair tech. just saw locally. My relay stopped clicking. Sorry for the slight Yammer I have in the morning. Just got a cup of coffee. Hope it will help. Good morning ... coffee.☕2 points

Don't waste your time playing with a $12 switch Just replace it and see if the problem goes away Black box repair method Still do the rest of the inspection and cleaning touching up a few cracked or lose solder joints can work miracles2 points
-
Clean the contacts on the switch Replace the relay Clean the speaker connectors Ensure the speaker wires are secure in the connectors, powered off Inspect the bottom of the board for bad solder joints, shorts Next would be check the pre amp section or have a tech check it Then move on to the amp section Weak transistors will sometimes fade in out2 points

I built them, used them happily for over 3 years, then decided to build Claude's Qpies. If it weren't for the aesthetics I would've kept them, guess I'm kind of superficial! They sounded great though, even without any additional EQing. As long as you are aware that they still won't be producing any sub bass, I say go for it! They are such an easy and cheap mod that if you're not satisfied, well you burn them and go back to stock.2 points
-
Indeed, better yet, get subs. Done. That's great... if you want subs. Suprise! A lot of people, like me, don't want subs. So get over it.2 points

are you calling Carl an Uncle Eddie? Remember that scene in Vacation where Eddie asks Clark if he wants a beer. Clark says yes so Eddie gives him the rest of the one he was already drinking and then gets a new one for himself.2 points

From the ad "Good receiver you have to put the balance knob in just the right place to get audio out of both speakers but it pumps out some power. This is in really good shape for a 80s receiver. Willing to consider offers. Thanks for looking"1 point

Hi Jeff, I saw the R8 reviewed, quite favorably, on YouTube. $1,449 on Amazon at this moment. When I am ready to drop more than a thousand dollars I was hoping to buy a Decware amp: either the entry SET $995 "Super Zen Triode" 2 watt wonder or the $1595 "Zen Triode Integrated" which produces about 6 watts. I admit I don't have the base knowledge or experience to justify my logic or reasoning. This may not be a "logical" purchase for me. Without the opportunity to hear these amps I am trying to collect input from some of you folks to help guide me, thank you. I find the simplicity of the Decware low power amps appealing. They offer a trial period; if you don't like it, send it back. Yeah, that's pretty good. But you can't get one of those until Fall of 2022. I want something now so I am going to take advantage of Amazon's extended holiday return period to audition a few of the low dollar amps I mentioned earlier. They do offer that R8 ... Hmmmm ... maybe I could ... it's push - pull. Why do I think I would prefer to try a SET amp? Why not? Hmmmm ... Thanks for the suggestion Jeff. I appreciate your help.1 point

I wouldn’t call that a “small” room. That said, I really think you need to get them on the short wall so you can sit further away. It might be a hassle, it in the end you’ll think it was worth the trouble. Shakey1 point

Blood and Fire by George R R Martin, the prequel to Song of Fire and Ice. Reads more like a history book or a Hollywood “treatment” than a novel. I’m sticking to it hoping it gets better.1 point

Hi Tarheel, I bought the P6 first and rolled some amps by it. I thought I was buying a front end for the ST-70 but the old iron didn't seem like it was keeping up with the P6. Hard to explain but it seemed to be missing snap - quickness. The $100 Teac chip amp sounded pretty good. It has low mid control but it is pretty bright through a mid horn. Also, on a song like Can You Hear Me Knocking - Sticky Fingers - when there is a big dynamic change (and is there ever!), it doesn't have the umph. That's at drinking volume. I wanted more. Then I got the P23+ because it had a big transformer and a big bank of capacitors. I figured that that what the digital amp and the Dyna were missing. They're probably missing much more but that's all I know. My world changed. I hope you like the pre as I do. it alone made a big difference in sound and enjoyment. As I said on a different thread, I heard the acoustic guitar on Link Wray's Rumble. Turns out it plays through the whole song on the P6 and a budget amp. ned1 point
