  3. She wouldn't get too fat here @dirtmudd The buy one get one free Edy's Butter Pecan & Double Fudge Chocolate from last month are gone now. But it was cold fried chicken for breakfast the rest heated up for dinner, The oven heats this place up nicely, wish it could help with the humidity! My little bird is thawing, got my Neeses sausage ready for the stuffing and the sausage/cheese/bisquick balls. Yes there will be green bean casserole. No pie this year, got some green apples for an apple crisp! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you nuts!

  4. I've been looking around at used cars and SUVs The prices really are up, way up. Last place I visited, the salesman started telling me the prices are too high for the vehicles..... a first Grand Marquise was always the one that got away but I occasionally check on them and ran across this gem It's just waiting for the right buyer If I had a barn, I would already be ordering the wrap around curtains and roll out bar and bed https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=60540&maxPrice=20000&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50000&sortType=MILEAGE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d362#listing=280886940/NONE

  6. Picked this up since it was their first studio album released in 1983. Pretty nice album. The Hurting is the debut studio album by British new wave band Tears for Fears, released on 7 March 1983. The album peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart in its second week of release, and was certified Gold by the BPI within three weeks of release. It reached Platinum status in January 1985. The album also entered the Top 40 in several other countries including Canada, Germany and Australia. The Hurting is a loose concept album focusing on themes of child abuse, psychological trauma and depression. Despite its morbid subject matter, the album was a huge commercial success and contains Tears for Fears' first three hit singles – "Mad World", "Change", and "Pale Shelter" – all of which reached the top five in the UK and the Top 40 internationally. It also contains a new version of the band's first single, "Suffer the Children", which had originally been released in 1981, while the album version of "Pale Shelter" is also a new recording.

  13. LF is traveling to a family reunion so I have an early seating at the bar at Henry's Restaurant. Since I will be alone I asked to sit in the bar area.....same menu just less formal. Cold and windy this morning. LF is backing out of her tennis match so we will have breakfast at The Toastery near the beach. Crab cakes benedict with potatoes for me. She will have the same replacing the yummy potatoes with fruit. So there you have it....one of you guys alert the press!

  15. Thanks and good points. I may clean them up, put all new velcro stickers on so they are all 'restored' (to my level of skill/interest) together and run with them off for the most part as seeing the 3 separate components inside make them look a bit more unique and cool. Great points. My office mates are few, so I'm not terribly worried about them, but we used to have xmas parties that would pack the place and I would not trust that all attendees would show the same restraint or know not to touch them. Just checked and the screws all seem to be snug without being overtightened (wood around the screw doesn't seem to push in). The neoprene weatherstripping is an awesome hack on the airtight seal. I hope to not open them for a bit, but when I do, that sounds like a fantastic way to fix or at least double down on prevention. Ahh, I saw some pictures in my searching where people were access from places other than the back. Thank you, I appreciate it. It's been fun and informative so far. Separately, this weekend I somewhat finished one of the speakers (leaving the other undone for comparison). I sanded it, cleaned it up with mineral spirits, let it dry, then applied a diluted (with mineral spirits) cognac colored Varathane, then wiped it down with a microfiber towel. The stain came out far darker/redder than anticipated originally, but I actually love it now and can't wait to do it to the other speaker (after getting a few better pictures). Here are some pics for those that like to see that sort of thing:

  17. @Mossy bottom When I heard about her w/him it really made me wonder what she was all about. Riding his fame, wanting to be his latest flame? Just all of it with her. Sure I know she's genuine but really? He's in pretty bad shape from what I've read but she's always around him, which I think is a good thing. Sure it's all about her but it's just refreshing to hear them come together once again with his guys in the orchestra. One of those bittersweet moments perhaps. It's a nice ride and was over before I knew it.

  18. This is one of those "You're nuts but I gotta albums!" I'm really glad I did too because it's pretty magical just like I thought it would be. Sure it's Gaga but Tony Bennett too? Great one to pick up if ya want those Klipsch of yours to truly shine! Fantastic orchestra with that big sound and just a fun album. Posting the goodies below but I'd certainly buy it again! Love for Sale is the second and final collaborative album by American singers Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, released on September 30, 2021, by Columbia and Interscope Records. It is the sixty-first (final) studio album of Bennett's career, and Gaga's seventh. Following Cheek to Cheek (2014), the duo's first collaborative album, Love for Sale was recorded between 2018 and early 2020, consisting of their renditions of various jazz standards by American composer Cole Porter, to whom the record is a tribute.

  23. They just moved further north! I met my dad(Marvel) down in Murphy NC yesterday and picked up his LS. The nonprofit agency I work for was donating some servers and desktops to his work so we had this totally unsuspicious equipment swap in the parking lot after lunch. It was great to hang out and catch up over lunch before heading back up the Nantahala gorge towards home. The LS are settling into their new home. last night we managed to get them hooked up and listened to some music on YouTube before heading to bed. This morning when I woke up the two younger boys were playing Minecraft and it sounded great. The 8 year-old wanted to be included for scale. “I could almost live inside these” I’m looking forward to really running these through their paces over the coming weeks. Already, I can tell they are a bit more effortless than my H1’s that they are displacing. A huge thanks to Marvel for passing these down to me and the kids. Cheers, Josh

  29. Those older station wagons would qualify as a utility vehicle now-a-days. Talk about cubic feet! If it was sound and closer I'd take a look! >$10k doesn't hardly get jack this year.

  30. You haven't even mentioned a gain knob. The perfect integrated amp would have a separate gain knob for the amplifier but none exist that I am aware of. Sounds stupid but strap a HINT6 to some Klipschorns and you can hear the noise floor pretty obviously. If you get that same setup but in separates form you have a gain knob, yet it's almost the same thing, the preamp is literally identical.

  32. You want efficiency in your sandwich lube. One of the grandkids when little did not like the idea of mayo, we told her it was sandwich sauce and she was good for another 1.5 years until she grew up a little and realize what happened.

  33. On a roll and unzipped another one. This group just never stops... Fresh Aire 7 was the seventh album in new age musical group Mannheim Steamroller's Fresh Aire series. The album was originally released in 1990 and peaked at #77 on the Billboard album chart in December of that year. Its theme is based on the number seven. The album won a Grammy Award for best New Age album in 1991.

  37. Think I may have posted this before but I was needing it again today. Ole Shakey in Manhattan in 1970 shines on this lp. Acoustic and in his prime vocally and it was just a stripped down version and he kills it Amaizng how good it really sounds.

  41. They are unicorns. Even the singles are missing links. I contacted the seller and went out to empty the work van to make room and was immediately overcome with a sinking feeling. Sure enough when I measured my basement entrance it came up short. And just when I thought I’d found the perfect home for my spare K-33s. I don’t think you could buy the lumber to DIY these for that price. There ought to be a bylaw against building single family dwellings that won’t accommodate MWM doubles.

  42. For those of you that may have missed the new Jubilees at the open house at Audio Video Therapy in Nashua, NH -- they will continue to be on display (and demo) there for the next couple of weeks. I auditioned them and found the soundstage to be quite impressive (not to mention the dynamics).
