  9. So let me say @MicroMara your upgrade to Luxury Class Mercedes sound happened with that pretty little gold colored cart? The Audio-Technica? Check and see if it's one of their better fine line (Shibata) cut needles. Hi @MeloManiac that tt was pricey when I got my first component stereo system. I went with one of their belt drive tts that drove me nuts until I got the Yamaha direct drive. Is that the stock replacement cart on yours that has the good full sound? If so it is probably an A-T also. Those two companies stuck together back around that time. Y'all might be catching on to what I fell into knowledge about in the early eighties.

  10. The ebay auction on e-bay Germany has ended at 9.03 pm. My old vinyl friend was auctioned by a German buyer , although many europeans had bid. He was sold for $ 1,092. I am quite satisfied with this result.

  18. ... waiting for the frost to melt. I'm seeing a distiller in Tucson got a whiskey listed in the top 100 by a ,, this is where I wonder about credibility, wine judging organization. Or is this the same that rates alcohol in general? Our peace and quiet was disrupted by the sharpest sonic boom I have every heard. It sounded like an explosion ... too near. Was almost a crack type sound. Leads me to think the atmospheric conditions were just right or the plane was at a low/er altitude... IDK

  21. Hi, Speaking of turntable, I had a beautiful English Linn Sondek LP12, then in 1981 I replaced it with a large turntable designed by a master of the vinyl world: Pierre Lurné (for example he made the T3 and T5 arms for Goldmund, and the famous Audioméca turntables and Lurné arms). I ran this MINIMUM Turntable for 25 years, but today, this turntable and in a cupboard in my garage, one day I would have to reassemble it and restart it after a nice restoration. This turntable was one of the first heavy turntables (around 120lb) and if you are observant you will see that many turntables from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s are inspired by this icon. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of my MINIMUM turntable running and there is no photo on the net. I contacted Vinylengine to give them a scan of this 1980 article from the Audiophile magazine to include it in their database: the article is visible under Pierre Lurné / Audioméca Look there and tell me if you can read this article from MINIMUM http://6bm8.lab.free.fr/Documentations/Revues/Audiophile/1977-1988/18/MINIMUM/MINIMUM.html

  23. I was wondering if there is any interest in an industrial home theater? I have 2 KP-250’s, 2 LaScala split industrial speakers with aluminum edging and the fiberglass matting, and 2 CP-1 industrial Cornwall. I have had a major hospital stay and won’t be able to get pictures till this weekend. I was thinking 4,000 is a fair price. Would like to sell as a group. Thanks Tom.

  24. A buddy of mine reached out to me on these and I passed since I already have the Forte. Full disclosure, I know him, and he is a local buyer and seller. He generally specializes in ADS speakers though. I have done business with him in the past, and It was nothing but positive. A SUPER stand-up guy. I’m not getting anything out of it, I would just like them to end up with somebody who really loves Klipsch. This is one of the most extraordinary pair I have ever seen. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ele/d/mission-viejo-klipsch-quartet-speakers/7421888531.html

  25. I purchased a pair of the a55g-2's to replace my original a55g's. For me the original a55g's were a significant upgrade to the forty year old k55v's that came with my Cornwalls. In my system the a55g-2's are a big step up in resolution over the first version. At the same time there is an ease to the music which makes everything flow more naturally. IMHO this is a really nice upgrade.

  26. I did that in the past as well, anytime I spun a record I made a new pic, allready deleted lot´s pics in my attachments , because it´s limited up to 150 mB and there are many pics that I can´t erase because they´re needed for my other technical topics

  29. Players opting out of bowl games https://www.si.com/college/mississippistate/football/mississippi-state-football-head-coach-mike-leach-player-opt-outs-texas-tech-liberty-bowl-charles-cross "You've got an obligation to the place that helped build and develop you and finish it out in the bowl," he said. "That's part of it. You owe it to your team, you owe it to your fans, you owe it to your coaches and it’s the most bizarre thing in the world to me." I tend to agree with him. Are bowl games not important? Insignificant to the program? You want to finish out the year with a win

  32. “but that boxy “stuffy nose” bass sound was still there, obnoxious as ever.” I think part of what you’re hearing is purely the sound of horn loaded bass from a LS. Dont expect LS bass to sound warm or full. They have what I would call a “lean” bass sound. Snappy, forcefull, powerful.....sure, but they will never have the same bass tonality as a bass reflex or sealed box system. Not even the same as a K horn. Even when you tame the side wall resonance & try anything else you like, you can’t change the basic sound signature of the cabinet design. Just my 2 cents worth after spending time with Klipsch heritage & other famous vintage brands that shall remain nameless on this forum.

  36. To make a long story short, the sonic difference with the same pickups between the Micro Seiki DQX 500 and the DQX 1000 is the same as a mid-range Mercedes Benz to the absolute luxury class.

  37. Looks pretty sittin here. Snagged a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue last week to go with a full bottle of Green and an open bottle of Green. I'm a hoarder you guys know that! 😂 Ohio is having their annual drawings for the high dollar bourbon now. 1 bottle per person IF you're lucky enough to get drawn for one after you register for the drawing. Hopefully I'll get an email soon telling me I won and where to pick it up and pay for it. Fat chance! Remember "Drink responsibly" hahaha

  38. If you have the room and can find a pair of Chorus, that would be a nice upgrade from the Kg4. I’ve had a few pair of Kg4 and really liked them. The Chorus is definitely a big level up though.

  39. There's no shortage of people, haters and fans alike, that have poked fun at Hamilton's clothing. Aside from being one of the best of all time F1 racers, he also fancies himself a clothing designer, and at one time, a rap artist. While his success inside the F1 arena has deservedly earned him a "Knighthood", a la Sir Jackie.... His ventures into Clothing Design and Rap Music have, how do we say..... fallen short of his expectation. Personally, after seeing him in that first all purple clown suit with matching socks, about 2 years ago, I thought, "Do street pimps still wear that shyt."
