  3. Early afternoon here , warm, sunny , a little bit claudy but it doesn´t matter so far. It's getting to be time to get the pool ready for my teens, it's going to be a lot of work again. Draining 38,000 liters, cleaning the inside walls and the pool floor, connecting the pumps, refilling the pool. This always takes 3 days, but then we can use the pool until the end of September.

  4. Your painting reminded me of of a shot I took several years ago. I was working in rural SW China and would stay over in Hong Kong for a few days on my way home - dazzling city, especially in contrast with the remote areas of China.

  12. no harm in that. You might have made her day. An unexpected kindness can change one's whole day. one reason I don't go to the supermarket... it turn into a social event and that lady wearing the white pants. I couldn't tell you anything about her face... I only saw.... um... remember her [from] behind. I almost felt guilty for watching her so intently..We were crossing paths every aisle. Then we were headed out the door at the same time.... I let her out ahead of me ... and she went down the aisle my car was parked in... I went a different direction..... and didn't go shopping foe several months. Honest. I was about to ask her if she took in strays

  26. I've had a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum III since January running my Heresy 4's and don't hear any noise. Now, I have read that Rogue updated the CMIII to virtually eliminate the noise that existed on the CMII.

  29. A couple of vintage Jo Mora posters. The “Cowboy” one is an advertising piece from the 70s and may look familiar to any Byrds fan. The “Indian” one is from the 1930s I think.

  37. I get what he’s saying. Some speakers, especially monitors or slim towers can have pinpoint imaging. But who’s to say if that’s better? I will take realism that horns can create over exact imaging any day. I’ve had speakers with a deeper soundstage and more defined imaging. But LaScalas are some of the best Heritage speakers at that to me. It’s just not what they are best at.

  45. This is a job for Mr. Fourier. The ideal way to figure this out isn't guessing, it's a matter of finding which part of the timbre is missing or accentuated. Find a recording of say a solo Cello, preferably a sample with a single note held as long as possible. An instructional video or something along those lines might be what to look for. Even if the note played is only a measure you can put it on a loop in the recording software program. Pretty much all of these digital recording software programs have an FFT analyzer and this is what will help you find the missing pieces. Play the recording and view the timbre in the software via the FFT analyzer. Keep a screenshot of this profile. Now play the Cello through your system and use a mic to record the speaker output. Now run that through the same recording software with the FFT analyzer and compare the two. http://www.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/~simond/pub/2011/Chudy-Dixon-GfKl-2011.pdf
