  1. Been werkin on a little project to hang tomorrow. Got a cell msg from my framer this morning. "Good morning Dave - Just wanted to let you know that i got your last (and final) frame order done last evening. Your music room should look really good by now! Thanks much for the business Linda" So, I stopped in this afternoon and said "Seriously? My final frame order?" She and the owner started laffin their rears off and told me they were joking when THEY sent the msg. I then told them I was bringing in about 50 signed baseball cards I wanted framed individually. I kinda went outta the box on this one so we'll see what ya all think. Bwa ha ha! I actually thunked on this one. I had NO idea how to do it. 😂 "

  8. There is a huge difference if the Russian Zaar Putin invades Ukraine and leads a war or if a 18 year old boy from a broken home simply shoots innocent children.

  10. At the side of our house is our bathroom, directly in front of it is a paddock where the mares graze with their foals. Below our property is a horse breeder with over 80 stables. He is the biggest horse breeder in our county.

  14. I must admit that it is difficult for me to stop smoking. I have been doing this since I was 16. Good, I buy for more than 15 years no more ready packs, because these are much too expensive in Germany. In addition, they have no good taste, as far as you can talk about taste at all. I therefore prefer to fill my cigarettes myself with a small plugging machine. For this I then use good filter sleeves and a very light tobacco without additives. Since I do this, I no longer have a smoker's cough in the morning. Of course ...you now say, let it be with the smoking....I know that it is not good anyway.

  15. Never smoked cigarettes til I was 45. I decided to make some changes where I worked so hit the night shift taking in the big picture. Had a couple great cigars I found while I was in Tampa a few months earlier so burned those then hit a menthol from one of the supervisors and it was down hill from there. I've quit about 4 times and just about ready to make it 5. I just lay them down and forget about them. A week later I'm done for a few years. About ready to do that again. Life's simple but I somehow always make it more complex. Imagine that! 😂

  24. Could help. Didn't "they" deem PE, Art and Band classes unnecessary and an exorbitant cost a while back? I'll leave that there to stew. Any more from me on this current event wouldn't help "them" adopt their own $$$$ findings on the big shootings in the past. "They" want another option. (teardrop - sad face smiley)

  27. ... when I worrked at the RV factory, if you didn't smoke while on break, you were susceptable to being tasked with something... because you weren't "on break" ---- I roll my own cigs. Have for 30 years, steady, and on and off before that. It was economically motivated.... now, I can't stand the taste of pre-rolled/packs of cigs. I don't use a machine. Mine are hand rolled. The Border Patrol's eyes always light up when they look in my ash tray of my car.... [yeah, the car is that old... it has a lighter, too]... until they notice all the butts are hand rolled. Oh... with the brand of tobacco i use... light tobacco refers to color, not nicotine content

  28. I was horrified to read today that a spree killer killed at least 23 children and adults at a Texas elementary school. We had such a tragedy at a German school years ago. I will never understand something like that. As Siegmund Freud says, "in every human beeing there is a criminal", the question is only what must happen in a human beeing to perform such an act.

  29. It's another topic for another day, in another thread, but I find it fascinating that the drivers could get out of the driver factory without testing. You obviously test for a reason, and apparently "bad drivers" pop up at some frequency (1 out of 100, 1,000, 10,000?). "Acid test" was part of a book title, isn't it more of a "litmus test"? (Pink/Blue, pass/fail)

  30. We also do an acid test break in. In production. As every compression driver is 100 percent tested. This is get it to natural state but not fully broken in. It helps us maintain consistency in the drivers freq and imp response. In other words, bad drivers tend to stand out very easily in the test.

  31. I just recapped Chorus II and Forte II's and use electrolytes for the caps parallel to the woofers per Roy's advice. Glad that you like the sound of the KLFs and they were already gone through so you are good to go. Sit back and enjoy.

  32. Got it. I'll leave the caps as is.

I present to you a track from 1969 This band had no guitarist but 2 keyboard players and generally played on the same bill as Van Der Graaf and Genesis And they hold the honour of being the first band to be signed to the Mad Hatter Record label The theme then and now has many similarities Rare Bird

  37. Hey guys, My boss asked me to install his Forte II in his office, so we can watch movies there, problem is I have no Idea how to. I managed two get some sound out of one of the speakers with an amplifier, and connecting the amplifier to my computer. But The problem is that I only have one wire connected to the amplifier. Some of the wires have been cut as well, so I was hoping that someone in here can help me out. Thank you in advance

  38. Thanks, Tom. Agree with your assessment about "not always crisp". Erin mentioned it wasn't meant to be an "interview", but just a casual chat between enthusiasts. That being said - it does seem like a missed opportunity to discuss more technical concepts re speaker design from one of the best in the industry. I'm super impressed with Erin's guest list so far - I just wish the channel could expand to covering more technical concepts.

  39. I used to know some people who claimed they had many many years of experience (30 +, etc), the problem for these people is they stop learning after the first year or less, then they have 30 + years of "working in the same job".

  40. Why do you want to change caps if you said this? "I think they are a wonderful speaker with the mods done. The bass is not to over bearing but punchy enough for me. Highs are smooth and almost silk feel." The 80 uf should be paralleled with the Daytons to equal 97uf per the schematic. Per Roy, the Chorus and Fortes can use electrolytics parallel to the woofers. Others claim to hear a difference, but I will go with the person who designed the networks.

  41. Something that seems to be overlooked in many of the comments here: Heritage Series speakers, and maybe other lines and even other brands of speakers, are not “fresh out of the box” when they leave the factory, since they likely have had a brief test before leaving the driver factory and another test (brief or not) after being installed in the speaker, as part of the final quality control check. Chief Bonehead explained how Klipsch drivers are run in before the speakers leave the factory, which takes care of much of the initial part of break-in. The customer only experiences the last part of it, which is why it seems to be barely noticeable, or even unnoticeable, to some of the commenters in this thread.

  46. I was looking for the video sent from Apollo 8 on Christmas Eve where they read from Genesis. It is on YouTube of course. But also there are several 10 and 11 hour videos from the SELENE probe. You can find info on the project on Wikipedia. Specifically, on YouTube are videos created from shorter sessions. Use the slider and you can advance to several earth-rises and earth-sets as seen from the forward-looking camera and aft-looking camera. Just so beautiful.
