You're worried about a new needle and I'm sitting here looking at piles again? Guess it's about time to put some away and get a bit more organized. As if... 😂3 points

The Zone 2 and Zone 3 signal paths have several stipulations about inputs and signal types and sequences of button pressing operations. Functions can accidentally be disabled without realizing how or why.2 points

Playing CD while troubleshooting for subwoofer sound. Common error. Boring times...think I'll start a youtube music thread.2 points

@Full Range that is the most incredible music box I have ever heard! Of course we couldn't carry it out of grandma's room for everyone to hear like hers with some Brahms inside it.2 points

Some AVRs have so many inputs, outputs, DSP modes and remote Zones that you often need to sketch or visualize a flowchart in order to follow the signal path. Glad that you are having good tunes again!2 points

My klipsch promedia 2.1 thx computer speakers stopped working after I had turned off my pc for the night. I don't usually have the volume high and the subwoofer is usually kept at the same level. I tried unplugging and reconnecting the speakers, as well as resetting my computer and checking my computer settings. I hear the buzz from the subwoofer and the light on the control panel for the speakers work. I also tried connecting the speakers to different devices but it still doesn't work. I know the control panel works because I tried connecting my headphones to the control panel and it works. I'm not really sure what to do about my speakers. I bought my speakers in January of 2021 and they have been plugged in and used most of the time I had it except for maybe 2 months. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.1 point

Actually, who knows? Yes, "loose nut" and many pilot errors with modes not compatible with CD/DVD's. All-channel stereo seems to be the only thing that works Will "play" more with that. But did determine that the HDMI passthrough to zone-2 pre-out is BAD. Spend a day and a half on that So; switched to "zone-3," which of course ( ) does NOT take HDMI inputs. Therefore just using an RCA cable from my Oppo to the AVR. Haha, probably would have been easier just to go Oppo to preamp/Crown/KPT-904's (which I did try just to make sure the big speakers worked) Yes, still shopping for a new AVR. Looked at many, including a Yamaha RX-A2A ... Jeez; even that one does NOT pass-through HDMI to pre-out. $1000 and NO GO May have to live with this one or go high-end Marantz - but hate that little porthole Cheers, Emile1 point

@Emile @Khornukopia so what the f was the problem? Perspiring minds want to know. Loose nut behind the wheel? Pilot error? cold solder joint?1 point

they are marked "T.I." & some have confirmed what that brand is, but no further info is ever provided on jem caps quality or comparison to other popular brands like sonicaps or even the same type of polyester caps as jem/klipsch, so far all we get are ambiguous comments with no real data or explanation... or the subjective opinions from a guy that has never tested or probably even owned the caps or other products he bashes. i agree & im sure many others do too, that some type of info on quality or comparisons of jem to other caps would be nice & probably even help the sales of their caps if they are as good as some say or their price suggests...1 point

With an active pair of Main speakers, you may find the relative simplicity of the single-amped Surround AL5s to be one less thing to think about, especially if their amplifier has a similar power output and sound quality to that of the ones powering the Jubilees. Turn on (your system) and tune in (to the music) and you’re there, in the place you want to be. Hey, JubScalas are a concept that I can vouch for, but in the Surround position a fine-sounding amplifier driving your AL5s may give you all you need or want, with an understated (by the standard of us fanatics) look to your system. In my case, I knew I was there when I added the two higher-end subs, replacing the single mid-range model. Now the sound came together, from bottom to top. Since then, I just roll up the volume (the system is always powered up, per recommendations from Yamaha) and enjoy, with no thought (finally!) of any possible tweaks or upgrades needed. Any significant weaknesses have been addressed (that “S” word is the key), so there are no small or large tweaks or upgrades to think about. The sound is there. It’s nice. Your mileage may vary, of course.1 point

No hard feelings here just a little confused by it. Appreciate the kind words from you and others. Bill1 point

And that is great. Nice speakers, nice price. Yes I am a bit surprised but IMO, it's not a cool thing to mention other speakers for sale on another one's ad. Bill1 point

That's why I put the smirk under that Sir! Some swear by it, some argue vehemently against it. Do think the 6AK5 variant of tubes I have might mellow a bit in a month or so though! I won't touch the cable things I was practically attacked over again. Unless you read my opinion at my page. Of course I jest.1 point

Uh no, they did not break-in THAT much. (RP-600M II). My first gen 600M's sounded a little better after a month but they were 99% good to go right out of the box. Agree with you that they don't sound like Heritage when played as L/R with an AVR. They sound excellent standalone. I don't use tubes so I bow to your experience on that. Using the 600M as L/R w/Sub the characteristic sound is a LOT like my RF-83's, $2500 speakers when new.1 point

I've got a pair of the RP-600M IIs hooked up for about six weeks now. No experience with HT, 2.1 has been it so far. Variables come into play, as always. Until I tweaked what I was putting into them there wasn't much resemblance to the Heritage sound. With their size did not expect it. So, I got different tubes, made other changes. Now I have more realistic vocals, instruments and the imaging! To me they remind me of the Klipsch Heritage Sound that I know and love! Or did they "break in"?1 point

Is this kinda what you are asking? Here's a REW voltage test using three different 2uf capacitors in series with an 8 ohm resistor. The plots are the voltages across the resistor. As you can see in the first plot, they pretty much lay on top of each other. The second one is zoomed in, and they are within .15 db of each other. Red is a Sonicap 2.01uf Orange is a 2.04uf oil can pulled from an old Heresy. Green is a new GE polyester 2.01uf I'm still trying to figure out why my crude setup always shows a voltage drop around 19khz. Mike1 point

I disagree, it will fit the bill very well for MUSIC. A sub that size with an 18 can be flat to 30 hz. with little EQ on the bottom and is a STEAL of a price. It adds almost 2 octaves of REAL, Low Distortion BASS to LSs. The lumber is worth the asking price for gosh sakes. Plus it won't need much power as it's pretty close to a LaScala in sensitivity. Stick it between 2 LaScalas with a good Sub Plate amp from Parts Express and rock you brains out!!!1 point
