Well, I 've just wasted half an hour of my life figuring out why the left channel was lower in volume than the right channel. 1. Opened and checked the Left speaker. All was fine. 2. Swapped L and R speakers. Now the volume in the r channel is low. Swapped them back. 3. Open my Leben tube amp. Replaced the preamp tubes. No change. 4. Replaced the 4 EL84 powertubes. No change. 5. Panic: 'My amp needs a service.' 6. Keep calm. I tell myself. 7. I ask Mr Google "Why is my left channel lower in volume than the right channel." First search result: "Most likely it is the input device." Huh? 8. I change input from Streaming device to CD Player. Volume in both channels the same! Yes! 9. I pull out power plug streamer and reboot the Streamer. 10. Problem solved!!! Lesson learned: when volume in one channel is lower, your first step should be to check the input device... 😳

KG 4.2's have MUCH more bass output than any Heresy. Also the .2 series have passive radiators for better bass extension than the port on the .5 models.

Still testing. Had to switch from spherical to an elliptical needle, the round one produced too much hissing... I think the stage is shifted slightly to the left, will experiment with tracking force and anti-skating.

Hello all, I'm parting with my trusty RF-3 II's! I replaced all 4 woofers with the new OEM Klipsch woofers from Simply Speakers ($99 each plus tax, etc.) Thus the price I'm asking. They are in very good condition with the exception of the typical grill peg or two missing. My intent was to keep these for my children to use (ages 3 and 5) so they would have some good sounding speakers to shape their love of music as they grow up! However, with the rising cost of everything and an actual pay cut for me as a teacher next year (another blow to teachers!) I've decided to sell these as well as some of my other gear. Many of you do not know my wife had a stroke on 5/2 this year and so lots of projects were delayed or on hold. I have a ton of wood to work with and much of it I have never cut before. Curly Ash, Curly spalted hard Maple, and some big old Walnut Live edge slabs I might just turn into tables. Really nice crotch wood in them. I have some White Oak with spalting also. And then there is some Cherry that I started on some time ago and just finished today. Kind of tells you where my mind is at with the rod stock holes all the way through to the front side because I left the wrong "Z" level in there. You cut one wrong you cut them both wrong and act like it was a plan. Anyway I thought the wood grain was interesting the closer you look and the picture does not do it justice. I have some curly Cherry I have to glue together to get pieces thick enough to make a set of these but they look like they will have real character to them. I enjoy working with wood as the variables are considerable. The downside is learning the idiosyncrasies of each wood type with no one here to show me how to avoid mistakes. Here is an example of what I mean. I use a 3" face mill to cut the front and back sides and on these freestanders where the width is 7" there are three left to right passes to face them off with. It kind of picks the wood out a bit and you can see where the pass edges are. It requires a fair amount of sanding to make those go away. Probably reducing the step over to maybe 40% of the cutter width will stop this and I will find out soon. I also wonder if changing the direction of cut 90 degrees would end the problem. Crossing the wood grain and not paralleling the wood grain.

Finally got my new grills completed (except for badging I'm looking for) Pretty happy with the way they turned out. Although the right one is really tight! I may have to pull an edge off and sand the grill frame down a bit.

I personally prefer the 5.2's over the 5.5's but both are excellent speakers I just find the 5.2 to be more balanced where the 5.5's are very bass heavy great for cranking them up for easier more critical listening the 5.2's do it for me a bit better. I've had the 4.2's and 4.5's don't remember there being really that much difference in sound or bass I did like the taller more tower like cabinet size of the 4.5's almost need stands for the 4.2's.

My experience has been that the HF will make or break your setup faster then anything else. When I was dialing in a resistor L-Pad for a two way on the HF side of things merely going an additional estimated .5 DB in attenuation took sound from really great to ho hum. It does not take much to be over or under the sweet spot. My favorite two way from Klipsch is the KPT-456. Meant for main or side fill sound and not this THX movie crap they were just musical with no harsh edges. When I got some KPT-904's with OEM crossovers they were shrill and unpleasant and only an L-Pad fixed that problem. I am sure someone with greater knowledge of crossovers could tell you what to do better then I can. Looking into a MINI DSP also and if my Super MWM is any indication going active will get you better results then passive though a PITA to learn and implement.

Thanks for the reply! No lights blinking and I checked the connections to the amp and all seemed fine, didn't dare to open any of the speakers as I have no idea what I am doing. Managed to send my dealer videos of it occurring and took note of what we were doing when the crackling occurs. It got a whole lot worse today and suddenly went from working perfectly for 3 hours to crackling from 4 different speakers. In Deep is the fourth studio album by Argent, originally released by Epic Records in October 1973. It features the original full-length recording of "God Gave Rock and Roll to You", which reached No. 18 in the UK charts (U.S. No. 114) when released in edited form as a single later the same year. It was later remade by Kiss as "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II" for the film Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991. Yup a lil heavy on the volume but they'll survive. lol

I was never really happy with a center speaker for my AL5’s until I got a third one for the center. I have tried a RC-62 and RC-64 III and while they worked it was not a flawless front stage until I got the center AL5. Just a note if you all don’t realize it is you can order just one AL5 from Klipsch. You do need to plan accordingly for the large footprint, so in my case I just modified my rack to fit it in. The rack has since been shortened and narrowed.

$600 is a pretty high price per pair already does that include shipping costs to the US? Part of the problem here is that you are asking a lot of money even if you were local and a well known contributor here on the forum--

I hope she is on her way to a full recovery.4 years ago I slammed my head into a reef while body surfing and it resulted in a severe head injury that lead to a stroke.. My recovery went well but it does take some time and all of a sudden if you get lucky everything seems to work like before. Wishing her all my best - Peace and respect - David

For me on some KPT-904's where the K-510 + DE75 drivers were too hot I used an L-Pad to tame them down. Never thought about using a movie screen.
