  2. I am a big fan of the Chorus 1 because you can play it anywhere. Outside, inside, in the middle of a room it does not matter because they do not need a wall or corner behind them to work right. Never tried port tubes just a recap and new tweeters and they sound really good. My favorite Vintage and only the KP-301 is better for my tastes.

  3. C1's with 7" port extensions added gives U the bass of a C2, but are less finicky about room placement. I'll never part with either pair of mine 😎

  4. Why waste money on gas, and overcrowded airports, when you can be like Timothy Leary and travel the world from your favorite armchair or porch. Just saying.

  7. Bored? Check me out! Fire it up and give it a listen. Their first from 1969 and will always be one of my favorites. Many never knew just how good these guys were

  8. I had waaay too much fun lining up tickets for people before the Walsh Vet Aid presale. Spent about 3 hours on the phone laffin last nite and this morning. Now I'm beat. They all got their tickets and I'm on the list to park somewhere. hahaha Nice line up for the evening, Joe & the Gang, Dave Grohl, Akron's Black Keys, NIN and the Breeders. Perhaps a couple surprises too I was told. If Joe wants a party Joe's gonna get one. He always has! Hopefully Covid doesn't mess things up!

  9. This is actually one of my favorite songs from their first "Yer Album" entitled "Collage" I was told it's gonna be a "blast from the past" and a "family reunion!" So we shall see. What's Dave GRohl gonna do? Anything he wants! Wait, is Ringo gonna mysteriously appear too??? Let's just hope Covid doesn't rear it ugly head again.

  11. Had capezios once for bar hoppin' but never those huge clown shoes like the kids on those 70s dance shows! Was about $100.00 a night for drinking back then the way I was. Beer was $2, mixed were $4 - 8 depending on which shelf it came from. I wish I had half as much leftover from getting paid now! That was 400 a week sometimes, plus the four wheel drive Durango, and a full bag or two a month. The right roommates made the bills work out. Got half the yards done and got stormed out today. I'll try again tomorrow, hot here too. It will be until Sept.

  12. Just a bit of a tease for me actually. Pre-Sale Tickets went on sale today for Joe's Vet Aid November show in Cbus. Gonna be a pretty good show since it's the last time out for the original James Gang. Dave Grohl will be with the Gang, Nine Inch Nails, The Black Keys and The Breeders. That much fun for $150 a seat? I picked up tickets for friends today. hahaha Think I'll sit back w/the boys mixin the tunes. The stars have been aligned for me the past couple months and I'm not changin a thing. Will be great seein the Gang again. I've heard that "last time" before.

  13. First I've been in today and for some reason my account was open... That's weird. I'm not goin thru a Dave1292. Sounds more like a big burrito when ur done rolling it around you. How you even THINK about pizza when it's 150 outside? It's hot as balls here. Rain coming thru but mostly in Southern Ohio. Sucks to be me! Stones? Never had 'em and don't want 'em!l You in platforms John? hahaha That's a visual and a half! 😂

  14. I actually ended up selling my black LaScalas I bought new in 1986 after I picked up my 1st pair of oak Chorus 1's a few years ago. It took about 6 months of listening to decide, (& it may shock some of you), but 3-4 years later I have NO regrets... (& have since added another pair of pristine walnut C1's to my collection)

  15. Hi John... the sarongs are 6 feet in circumference.Lap the excess and roll it down, like a bath towel. They are long. 48 inch "inseam". I take a 36" inseam when I wear pants. Pants inseam is measured from crotch down...So, 48 inches from waist down isn't as long as it sounds. ------------------------- Made pizza tonight. Used bread flour instead of all-purpose. Way better texture to them. Not so "cakey"...more pull to the crust.

  16. M series Yamaha amps work great with Chorus. M-85 was my favorite amp with my Chorus II. I tried quite a few. They all sounded good, but the M-85 definitely took them to the next level.

  17. I agree with the others, it's hard to beat a Luxman for the price. My vote is for R-115 (117's can be $$$, & the 115 is usually plenty of power for most Klipsch) I'm using my R-115 as a pre-amp (Lux recievers sound "warm", not sterile/flat) with the pre-outs feeding a restored Yamaha M-60 amp. Why? I get the remote volume control & "warm" sound of the Lux PLUS the watts/headroom & cool dual power meter display of the Yammy 😃

  20. Geeze talk about free----in' 72" could cover me head to toe @grasshopper unless I was to ever wear platform shoes from the disco era! Again... can't stay not enough time for me recently except ya know Kstones? They're kind of like a carrier group with the destroyer, guided missile cruiser, communications ship and all that along with the big star of it the carrier. At least my H20 and juice intake regimen enables them to get through... ER people can ignore you for hours when you are turning different colors, writhing on the floor! That isn't an exaggeration.. it happened once in New Smyrna and other times not that bad. Knock on wood I won't have to go that route again.

  22. Did old (1960s) chart recorders use smoothing? How much? How would we compare the speaker frequency response curves we see in old copies of High Fidelity magazine with modern curves that we run with on something like REW, with 1/3 octave, 1/6 octave smoothing, etc.?

  27. @billybob @Scott Analognot to belabour the points but ... My lit says the R-117 does 160 wpc, stereo, RMS at 8 ohms. Some lit says they will get to 200 wpc before clipping. Dynamic is 400 wpc at 8 ohms. I've never had mine past the 10 o'clock on the volume dial... 4 Heresy and 1 RC-7 are very happy. The remote to me was a big deal as I use my 3 Luxman to run the 5.2 HT and one of them does the 2 channel service for audio. In setting up the various inputs, having the control codes in a universal means the rest of the family doesn't have to know which input to use, which devices to turn on, etc. And, they only use 1 volume control. I've read articles where folks said they liked the sound of the R-115 better than the R-117. I think an R-114, R-115 or of course R-117 would work fine. I've only seen 2 Akai AM-2950 for sale in Canada. One is currently on CAM, no affiliation. They are rare. I've actually offered to swap an R-117 for the AM-2950 but the seller wants $$$. Too bad. Best wishes.

  30. If you're worried about stability throw a 45 / 50lb weight on the bottom shelf buy or paint it black
    1 point
  31. The weight of the speaker should give stability to the stand; the fill is to damp resonance of the tubing (and add "some" weight).

  36. Not shocking at all, but I did the exact opposite. I started with Chorus II and ended up with La Scala’s. Chorus II is really hard to beat when set up properly. I prefer both.

  39. I got them yesterday. Spent some time this afternoon finding the right size ear insert and adjusting the EQ in the Klipsch Connect app and I’m really impressed how comfortable these are, how nice they sound and all the accessories that are included.

  41. is a 72" waist considered XL? The sarongs I make are ~48" long and 72" around.... Wife starts school today. No kids until next week. I'm on weather watch. Big rain means she can't get home and or get stuck between here and there.

  42. No need for this. Just go to the home depot: https://www.homedepot.com/b/Storage-Organization-Moving-Supplies-Moving-Boxes/N-5yc1vZchnc put he woofers face to face with cardboard between (I assume the driver is below the basket in front. Then use .... packing peanuts. Yuck, I know, but if you put the peanuts in grocery bags with a little space left and tie them up, they are form-able cushion that are very useful and clean if you put them in bags. Use several bags of the peanuts to get the speakers in a very solid and protected space.

  44. I have vacationed to most parts of the back yard whenever I want. Was in Arkansas a few weeks ago for a few days, had a good time, caught an almost 5 pound bass, had some drinks and things with friends and just took a break, it was the last place we went.
