  1. Bought this one at the local thriftstore. A 1973 pressing. It was so dirty I used Dettol wipes to clean it. Think somebody puked on it. But the album has a lot of wear and tear, which always is a good sign. It is actually a very good sounding record.

  2. Thanks Not too worried about it; seems it will make landfall a bit south of us. Meaning storm surge won't be 10 feet (Haha; house is at 9 ft, garage at 6 ft, pool at 4 ft.) Will probably put up storm shutters later today. Have hurricane glass in all windows, BUT not in 14 french doors on the south side But, really concerned for many people here as many older homes are at 3-6 feet Anyhow, we have enough wine to get through this. Cheers, Emile

  4. Just to be clear, this was the worst tasting liquor I’ve had in my life. however, it has a history tied to its Swedish founder and it has become the unofficial drink of our yearly Volvo club get together. We rent a forest service lodge out in the middle of nowhere western NC. Eat smoked meats, talk Volvos and other cars, and do a shot of Malort here and there. This year one of the ladies, that’s her on the right side of this flag, emailed the Jeppson’s Malort folks and convinced them to send us some goodies for our get together. that’s me holding the left side of the flag. I’ve known some of these guys for 20 years and at this point it’s easily as much about the friendship as it is showing off our poor taste in cars. the location is fantastic, The BGE putting in work.

  5. I propose Chiefbonehead change his name. I suspect, based on focus groups and other market related data that Klipsch's head engineer, should be addressed as a positive figure, not so named as a self-deprecating figure. No disrespect to Roy, but, I think he should take on a more respected moniker. I can appreciate the "Chiefbonehead" name as modest, but it doesn't fit well with the educated Klipsch buyer.

  6. My relatives in Fort Myers have evacuated to the Atlantic coast. Their house is on a canal system, and to my eye sits only about 3 feet above water level. Maybe a little more, it's been awhile since we visited. I've been actively assessing the states with the lowest risk of climate change disasters as a potential "final move." Although my state is in the top 10 most risky, my specific location is sorta, kinda, mostly, pretty secure, compared to the 11 million people living in forest fire regions. I would already have moved, but the Better Half is much slower to consider radical changes.

  7. Klipsch doesn’t care about the number of posts, they care about the quality of the content. If there are threads about Klipsch speakers, there are at least three other places they can be moved to (if required). Human beings are supposed to be good at pattern seeking/pattern recognition. Some here, not so much.

  8. GOOD GRIEF…!!!! 🤪 Talk about sucking the life out of these forums…. Just keep it up guys.. !!! Maybe it would help if people stepped away from their keyboard and instead turned their attention to things that really mattered in life. If the forum isn’t fun or informative for you then maybe ask youself what are you bringing to the place…? miketn

  12. Rainy days are the best conditions for listening to music Well for us here wet days removes static electricity And it also puts one’s mind at rest to enjoy audio Edit That’s if we don’t have imminent flooding conditions 🤪

  13. 80´s japanese avantgarde electronic music. Found it in a store while shuffeling through some LPs. Not bad, a little Bowie here, a little Sakamoto there, was his debut album: Masami Tsuchiya - Rice Music

  15. Read the fine print, he is not just a bonehead but the 'Chief' bonehead. Not good enough, how about: Mr. Chief Bonehead? Sir Chief Bonehead? Chief Bonehead P.E.? The Supreme Chief Bonehead?

  16. Chief bonehead was Roy’s disguise name, but unfortunately, the person behind the name was revealed by others fairly quickly. Then it became an in-joke among the few who knew, then the few became many, and now here we are. Logic would suggest an innocuous name, if Roy wanted to regain the anonymity that he originally had with his current Forum handle. It was not used as a representative of the Company, not at first anyway. At least, that’s how I understand it. At present, Roy maintains a relatively low profile on here, because his full-time job is designing and refining speakers. He pops in here during his free time, which should be seen as very generous of him, but so far we have one member suggesting that Roy spend much more time on the Forum in order to share what he knows, and now we have another member suggesting that he change his Forum handle to something more befitting a person in his position. If Klipsch were to assign an information officer to the Forum, maybe then the first member would get the info he’d like, and the second member could choose the officer’s handle, but I suspect that neither member would be satisfied, because they want the real thing from the real guy. Sometimes we don’t get what we want, we get what’s provided, and should be satisfied with that. Any long-time member or lurker has had time to see how the Forum operates, and how sometimes it doesn’t take much to mess it up. Let’s remember that we’re all guests on Klipsch’s Forum, and act accordingly.

  17. Yes, calm before the storm. Remains to be seen but since here, around 90 mph from last couple over 4 years here, about what am good for. Others here in jeopardy from water, salt and fresh. Thanks!

  23. One more time….modded klipsch speaker threads are not allowed…..period. If you don’t like it, then go somewhere else. It should have NEVER been allowed. And if we hide threads, well now you know why. Get over it. You can call this the “Great Purge”. This thread (and any other that come forth) is going to be locked. And of course…..remember…..I am the chief bonehead.

  24. I only have to worry about 10 years or so. The youngins out there who are looking at say, 50 more years, really have to plan carefully where to set down roots and build social and economic equity.

  25. And here is the third thriftstore find of the day. No surprises with L Berstein's Symphonic dances from West Side Story, of course. But I'm positively surprised by William Russo's Pieces for Blues Band and Orchestra. How bizarre is that! Interesting person! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Russo_(musician)?wprov=sfla1

  28. I can tell your with certainty, that he would have hated all of it because of the Distortion in the instruments. PWK hated rock, pop, and found acoustic jazz tolerable. He only listened to his own recordings of Symphony Orchestras, calling commercial releases "dilute stereo." All his recordings were made with only 2 Omnidirectional Mikes. He played several for me at his home (1985) and sounded pretty darn great!

  30. Thought they got a storm in Tampa in the early 2000s. Right after I left in `03 x told me they left the Cape and took 4 to Tampa. It was worse there than if they had stayed in PSJ. Got flooded and stuck in the hotel there for a couple days!

  31. There's so much I'd like to say.... I'll be simple. Look up how much more pollution and poison there is to Mother Earth from the manufacture then the disposal of those $$$$ car batteries. That is compared to a normal vehicle. Then how far you can go????? HA! I look DOWN on those pretty teslas now!!!

  32. I'm kind of worried about @Emile, Sounds like he's gonna get slammed. I know he's low @ his place and that's never good. Factoring in the 100 years since the last one hit there there. Could be ugly.

  43. Well maybe it makes sense to show my Vintage Cartridges here as well , as it fits into this thread, where I´m the author. There´re enought vinyl starters here that haven´t any idea about vintage Pick-Ups. Moving Iron / Moving Magnet Carts got a more or less bad reputation as entry Pick-Ups in this modern Audio World where Moving Coils are allways better and leading in the market. That is an typical sole agent answer if you ask about the difference between MI / MM / MC Carts. Nonsense imho ! If someone from you guys here is looking for a fair priced and really good sounding MI or MM have a look at these, before buying a new model which is more expansive , just to make the sole agent´s vallet bigger 😂 These are the cartridges for the through modified SME 3009 tonearm , under all headshells ( all with new OFC headshell wiring ) there are teak spacers to optimize the precision of scanning From right to left : ADC XLM MKII / Goldring G 900 SE / Goldring IGC 920 / Sonus GoldBlue . All needles are absolutely as new with less than 50 hours of operation. Here are the cartridges for the modified MA 505 MK II tonearm on original Micro Seiki headshells with new OFC headshell wiring. From right to left : Audio Technica AT20SLA / Grado Prestige Gold II / Osawa 301 / Nagaoka OS 300 MP , ditto here the operating hours The ADC QLM 30 MK III Grado Reference Platinium Wood Stanton 681 EEE NoS and not used up to now Super rare in the market ADC XLM MKIV Nos and still in the box with the famouse " Pathemax Needle ( modified Shibata Grind ) The Audio Technica AT 7 V and ADC XML MK III are currently in use. I'm just about to break in the new needles.

  44. This place is almost unrecognizable to what it was even just a few years ago I'm afraid with all the new censorship and rules on what can and cannot be discussed its only going to get worse. It's looking like the only thing allowed is cheerleading for Klipsch and recommending their fixes without alternatives like we're unpaid help desk employees and parts sales reps.

  45. Didn't know about new server so thanks. Don't know what others want, but like the place when helping newbies with their new or older Klipsch as best can do. Thankfully there are members here that know more than me they can turn to. If Klipsch support can do that, and other sites cool. Haven't a doubt in my mind we promote sales and Klipsch with goodwill. No point in a reply, as we have been here long enough to know each other's opinion, I trust. I've said likely way too much already. Good fortune Klipsch!
