  8. I just changed from LaScalas to Khorns. When paired with the subs, the differences are subtle to my wife, but significant to me. I'm glad I changed. I did so only because I was able to do it without financial risk based on the elevated market. If your corners are less than ideal and you employ a sub, I would be at peace with the LaScalas.

  9. Previous post was the vid of the motorcycle rider in Arkansas getting tased by the police which ignited a gallon of gas in his backpack . The guy could die so my better judgement was to delete it . This on the other hand is pretty fun if not a bit busy ; the main hook is pretty alright now .

  12. Here, in the South of France, it is also the Indian summer, it is around 28Ā°C/82.4Ā°F during the day and the most surprising are the records at night which were broken for the end of October: 21.9 Ā°C/71.4Ā°F in Marignane, 21.4CĀ°/70.5Ā°F in Arles (City that you know, in particular, by Georges Bizet's stage music with l'ArlĆ©sienne) and 20.8Ā°C/69.5 in Aigues-Mortes (City of departure of the seventh crusades of King Saint Louis). At this time of year it's more like 20Ā°C/68Ā°F during the day and 12Ā°C/53.6Ā°F at night. Goood CDs šŸ˜

  21. Anyone need parts for their CF-3's? Seems like black horns so maybe v2 or v3's. The woofers are slightly different between the v1's and 2/3's, also. But, for spare drivers, it's something. No affiliation. From the ad for posterity Klipsch CF-3 parts. Perfect condition and in perfect working order. Woofer $200ea ( I have 4 available) Horn lens $100 ( I have 2 available) Tweeter drivers $80 (I have 2 available) Crossovers $100 ( I have 2 available) Ports $15 ( I have 4 available) Grills $100 (I have 2 available) Woofer gaskets $20 ( I have 2) Tweeter lens gaskets $20 (I have 2) Comments are offā€¦ I donā€™t need expert opinionsā€¦ parts are rare for these. If you know, you know. Message me for details. Southern Indiana 47714 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/453966176721510/

  25. Not as bad as last week Friday was only one day early. I thought it was Friday yesterday.... all day the sunset was different last night. We got to see Musk putting junk into the sky. The "launch" was visible from here. We get to, and have been able to see launches for a long time. We used to see missiles go up when I was a kid. It's a lot spookier when you're a teenager, sitting in the desert, all buzzed up.... seeing odd lights in the sky. We would see satellites passing over, too. when I was a kid ... town was about 2 square blocks, surrounded by desert. We spent a lot of time "in the desert"

  26. Especially when you add a decent sub into the mix. When buying my LS I figured out that I really do not have the room required for K-horns. With LS you suffer some bass loss over the K-horn but the bass it does make is pure horn bass. Something that is very rare in speakers. Love K-horns and always desired a pair years ago but now happy with LS and good sub.

  28. Heinz as always thanks for your wise words. Not being able to get a pair of speakers does not, I'm happy to say, lead to the kind of despair and broken heart syndrome that my various interactions with members of the opposite sex in younger days resulted in. Thankfully. I'm going to just sit back and enjoy the abundance of speaker riches that I currently possess. This transaction simply wasn't meant to be, and there's no reason in my world to force fit myself into any gear that may not be the right fit, (in this case, literally) for my enjoyment. I'm guessing that if the opportunity to try out Khorns in my space ever does present itself, it will be through one of the close, local, folks that I have a personal relationship with that will allow me to try them out and see and hear how they would play out in my space. In this last transaction, this was not possible, and I just can't afford to take a risk. These are not speakers which one can just turn around and sell overnight. There are currently a few pairs available locally that have been available locally for some time. I don't want that hassle. And given my current situation, there's absolutely no reason to take it on.

  30. I made some that was a little weak a while back. Then I made some that really woke me up and remembered, 1 tbsp for each 7 oz of water is as weak as I'll make ever again. Hadn't realized I've been logged in all afternoon and it's almost 8 pm now. See Ya HA HA! (That was in a song played over and over again at the Disney Polynesian Hotel back in the mid 90s when I re-stained, scraped lots of metal, Ospho-ed and painted for a year.) They had muzak with music from those islands and see-ya-ha-ha was part of the chorus of one tune! A Sikorsky Sky Crane was there for a week or so, we had to bail to the parking lot while they brought the new roofing in! Awesome.. now used that word three times in this decade If you Jersey-guys are here, give me a scream! The V-65 Magna is gone!

  33. There's a pontoon plane in the middle of the pic. Kewlona sits along Okanagan Lake. The lake is 84 miles long. BTW, I knew it ahead of time, but speed postings are kph and not mph. Felt weird to be driving 120. Interesting, in all the towns to see the homeless. In that sense, no different than in the US. No place to pull off the highway on trip to Kamloops today. Mountains are probably a good 70 miles or more away.

  34. Not to get involved too much in this conversation but I would re-bias the tubes or lower the voltage somewhat with some resistance when installing a SS device where a circuit is designed for a tube rectifier. Most conservatively designed amplifiers could safely handle the extra voltage you get from SS rectification but there are probably many that would not like it. In this day and age I see no benefit designing a tube amplifier with tube rectification when SS is better and cheaper. Call me a heretic.

  35. A new smaller house is in the works, so it is with great regret I offer these Walnut La Scala IIs. They are ā€œBā€ stock due to the mismatched veneer, but who cares when you view the entire speaker (and I seldom look at the sides of them)? I am somewhat OCD about audio equipment and the prior owner was just as ā€œcareful;" they are flawless. I keep a sheet over them when not in use (the gray sheets are included). These loudspeakers have no issues. They are as sonically & visually stunning as you would expect. I suspect there will be no WAF issues when they are viewed. The photographs really don't convey the total impact of the reddish tones and dark veining. They nearly match my 70th anniversary Heresys in color & veining. They are stunning in person (hyperbole until you sell them yourself). While I have the boxes, I will not ship them. That requires pallets & strapping. I sold my F-150 (no one needs a diesel right now) so delivery is not an option. Iā€™m south of Nashville and north of DaveA, so make a country music weekend out of it. You are welcome to audition them (sorry, no SS; tubes rule) or just pick them up on the fly; your call. So to recap: -La Scala IIs -Walnut -Original Boxes Any questions? Please message me. Thanks!

  40. I don't know anything about your amp, but just want to make sure that you are aware of the fact that the Jubilees need to be biamped. Your integrated looks like it has preouts to go to an amp and main inputs to power the internal amp. This would allow you to use the integrated for either the bass bins or your tweeters, but you would need a separate amp to drive the other drivers. Good luck
