  4. Hey Stranger ( @MicroMara ) It does look uncomplicated inside, and I love how the Toroidal Transformer in my Cambridge Amp handles the changes in draw to cover the crescendos with ease! * Look up CSNY So Far LP that's what it is!

  5. think its puls width modulation, the trademark goldnote makes a kind of secret out of their class d technique, they don´t use conventionell class d pre-power stages with switiching power supply, that´s maybe the reason why the m9 sound so different from all class d i´ve listend up to now by friends of mine. They ´ve got a very high damping factor as well, 8 times higher than the ss stage from my marantz

  6. Paint it Artic white, dark brown leather interior and the famous Blauputnik radio. lol The local police chief is a friend and he wanted to drive it. Np, we took it out onto the bypass with him driving. Not many on the 4-lane so he warmed it up and quit at 110. So we switched out and I brought her back home @ 135+ w/him freaking out beside me. He was worried about some trooper and him in the shotgun position. lolol I sure wasn't. lol It was the automatic with a hole in the roof. It would squat and go when I wanted it to. Loved the speed and the performance. Supposed to be a new version out or coming out I guess. Sticker shock? Prolly. lol

  10. Well this has been a crazy couple hours. FINALLY a hoops game on TV w/the KY - Kansas State on now. Got thru the Steve Hackett ok and was thunkin about the next play. No clue til I looked over and saw a cover edge and went for it. Man am I glad I did cause it beats a big bowl of ice cream rn. The harmonies, the work, the songs, putting it all together is amazing imo. It's been years and boy does it hit the spot today. One of the BEST ever imo. Almost EVERY song a true winner! Cover by Joni Mitchell? Niiiice, and symbolic of that period of unrest we were in back then. Love and respect was all that really mattered yet the machine didn't recognize that. One fantastic album!

  11. Has to be under E or J doesn't it? Or close to that location? lol With me anything within 2' of the proper location works. lolol Then you mumble, how'd that get over here? The struggle is real. 😂

  12. I use the Heresy 1 with the k-28 or K-22 ..... 0 damping , 0 modifications , however if I would have added any damping , I would have used a standard foam piece U shaped .. 1 inch thick , placed loose around the woofer just like klipsch do in multiple other speakers .

  14. Those are gorgeous cars and a really timeless design. There is a 928 club that descends on Banner Elk the first or second weekend of June each year and there is usually a good 30+ Porsche 928’s running around the area.

  16. I'd eat that up in my old 83 928 S. It would have been work and a lil slip slidin but I'd make it out pedal to the footbox. That's one car I wish I had back. Pure joy to drive.l

  20. I could never participate in such sport .... my hand/eye coordination es no bueno Bowling, fishing, beekeeping, gardening.... watching the grass grow LOL. Those don't require quick movement. I was the crash test dummy among my R/C helicopter friends...Give it to Bill. If he can't break it... I know the sound of a toy heli hitting a steel pipe at 30mph... similar to the sound of a dozen eggs hitting the floor. The ones I was "flying" weighed in around 3oz. I can't say that I didn't enjoy the old video games.... you know... a joystick and a button type...When they started putting 18 buttons on 'em, I quit. A screw up on a game... no consequences.

  22. The onlg time I've heard Cornwalls was in the mid 2000s at Klipsxh HQ in Indy. I personally didn't like them that much, but someone thought the eq settings had been messed with. In the early '80s I had heard/used some La Scala clones made by the late Dennis Kleitsch (djk). I was friends on his brother and we borrowed them for P. A. use. They were really good. After moving to the Chattanooga area, later in the early 2000s, my older son and I were talking about those speakers. We got on these forums and connected with member John Albright in Chattanooga, who offered us an extra pair of LS he had. We auditioned them at his home and really wanted them but couldn't afford his, I think, $450 asking price. Perhaps that was without crossovers. I've since had two different pair of LS and in some ways regret letting them go. You will never get over the quickness or dynamics of fully horn loaded speakers. Mine were used in rooms approx. 11x20. Bass was absolutely fine for me. Bass on the newer ones is better due to the thicker non-resonant sidewalls. Sorry to ramble on with such a long story. I still have horns...

  24. I listened to both. I have the CW IV with two REL subs paired. Both are great speakers no doubt. Is one worth 2x the price- not for me. Pretty big difference from my Forte's to the CW. As with most equipment, as you move up the line there are performance differences along with diminished returns. If you got the $, buy the biggest baddest Heritage you can afford. They all sound pretty awesome. Also in my room, I have a "L" shape. No corners. I am still working placement and it's been three weeks. All fun though. The CWs are very balanced and really respond to what is upstream. I have a pretty robust SS amp. I tried two different tube amps. Neither one did the trick and the 2nd was very bright. So CW or LS, look at what you are pairing with. I'm really surprised by Kilpsch and the Heritage line. My previous speakers were Wilson. I'll have these CWs a long time. Great for Jazz to acoustic to rock...... Best of luck on your journey...

  25. They were Gauder Akustik, the Berlina series. https://gauderakustik.com/en/index.php/loudspeaker/berlina-series/overview-berlina-series They had a smaller set as well. My 2A3 amps are sitting between them on a cart. Admittedly, it was in a workshop area with a bunch of RTR decks and vintage receivers everwhere. They aren't horns, they didn't have the snappiness/dynamics that horns have. Visually they were ok... I don't worry about looks much, but horns systems are just more appealing to me. Although I do still have my JBL 4311 studio monitors from the early '70s. Although, if you only went by specs, you wouldn't have used them. Anyway, I took my amps home, hooked them back up to my LaScalas and enjoyed the music. Lively, toe tapping stuff. Always put a smile on my face and great sense of satisfaction.

  28. I have built many speakers and based on my previous builds that works well if required is The only part of the cabinet that needs insulation is the sides back and top - nothing on the front and bottom of the cabinet

  29. Nothing like horn loaded bass. The bass the LS makes is fantastic. LS also has bigger mid horn. The bigger the horn the better the sound is what I have found over decades of playing with sound. The cannon fire from the Tchaikovsky 1812 Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will make you jump out of your chair if you have the system turned up too loud. One will have to experience it to understand.

  30. I had Yellow Brick Road next in my rotation as well! Your later post of Madman reminded me I have, or at least had, that on vinyl. Having trouble locating it though. Might have to do some digging.

  31. An amazing voice staring from the days of Black & White TV and still performing now in his 70s I remember him doing the midday TV shows on a regular basis and he was such a funny man with the best one liners and incredibly good mother in law jokes Find more videos on your own but now please enjoy John Farnham And many of his hits over the years

  41. Yea, but ya didn't have to have eyes in the back of your hear to go someplace `cause of your scent back then. I grew up in the city that was the first to de-segregate their schools. High schools did have trouble then, but grade schools? Nope. Nada. We got to meet new people for the first time in years, and make new friends!
