Well ..today I´ve changed the Cartridge from the SME 3009 , instead of the ADC XLM III with JICO SAS Needle I´ve deceided to use and listen to the Goldring IGC 920 Shibata with grind , Sound brilliant as well , a little bit more dynamics than the ADC , the IGC 920 got 5,6 mV Output ! First I spun Lou Rawls " Silk & Soul " from 1972 than the Anothology from Commodores followed by Rufus and Chaka Khan " ask Rufus " than back to my youth with The Tubes " Remote Control "3 points

Pair of A/4500 networks. These are prior to his copper, silver, gold designs; however, they would fall into the gold category if purchased directly ($500) and these come with the nicer cedar planks. $300 shipped anywhere within the lower 48. Venmo or Zelle payments accepted (sorry no PayPal). Thanks2 points

HI all! I recently acquired these Klipsch La Scala loudspeakers built in the 80's ('88 possibly). They are in immaculate condition and are in their original shipping boxes. Unfortunately they have the original AL crossover, which I've read isn't ideal. That being said, I'm curious what the current/fair going rate is for these. I've read they could be worth between $1500-$3000 depending on the condition. Images here: https://imgur.com/a/EICP5qN2 points

Cabinets are obviously really beat up and need a lot of work to look decent. If all the drivers work I’d say $700-800.2 points

@Idontknow I don't know if I will be able to explain what I mean to you and how our views apparently differ because I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it... edit: okay maybe more than I meant to considering how long this post is. :-) Yes I know there are a number of people like your video guy, but for everyone like him there are others that try different things for knowledge and understanding realizing they are usually making sideways moves or even going a step or two back occasionally. Speaking for myself I don't have to go to others (video reviews or forums etc) to ask what will work for this or that and will I like it because I have enough experience I know what works for me. The majority of my purchases have been used and get sold for not much if any loss. The money saved if I were still using my first system would have been spent on something equally nonessential. ;-) Another forum has quite a few members that bought a system in (insert decade here) when they were young and still use it having never tried much if anything else, more power to them but I have enjoyed a journey of exploration that has been very satisfying and I was very happy with all but a few purchases over the years. Always looking for better was very rarely the basis for something new/different. I know a lot of folks that have done the same with no regrets.2 points

Finally have the room downstairs carpet installed and moved the Jubilee speakers down there. It sounds fantastic. Imaging is so beautiful and the room sounds great. I started playing with the SVS sub and the Jubilee's this evening. I am aware the Jubilee speakers go down to 18hz but it was interesting to see how bass-heavy music would respond with the sub. I set the crossover frequency for the SVS at about 20hz and it added just the right amount of low-end. Not sure if I will sell off the SVS in the long run as the cabinets still sound pretty good without it. Pics for the team:2 points

"therefore light plate clamps for screwing are more appropriate" Hmmm...I've never even thought about that. I'll have to discuss it with the Wife before bed time. . I'm sorry....I had to. Thanks for the info.2 points
-
bear in your mind that plate weights that are too heavy can cause damage to the bearings of the drive and the plate axe, therefore light plate clamps for screwing are more appropriate2 points

I don't understand what the obsession is with wattage... Low or High. Does it work... does it sound good... then move on.2 points

I ended up hiring local movers. It took 3 of them (they were really big dudes) to bring the bass cabinets downstairs. Money well spent!1 point

Memory is a ethereal thing, but I recall that the K-400, on a baffle, had an fc of 273 Hz. I also thought the *length* of the horn controlled its fc and the mouth area determined the response ripples it had (or didn't). I seem the remember the La Scala bass horn had an fc of about 70 Hz and acted more like a woofer in a corner from 70 to 55 Hz or so.1 point

Actually, there are a few things you can configure via three switches on the back - 1. auto-on 2. balanced or balanced connections 3. 0db/-9db gain setting One minor pet-peeve - the LED on the front is bright white, like 5000 Kelvin color tone. I wish it were a different color. Easy to mask for me otherwise.1 point

I do believe that you mentioned that those clamps are good for screwing. Lol1 point

Congrats on the new Jubes! I'm also using Hypex mono blocks for the low end and First Watt J2 for the top for my active crossover system. Different speakers for sure, but I owned Khons for many, many years. Also several tube amps and preamps have come and gone. I don't see the Hypex/J2 combo going anywhere anytime soon. Just some food for thought on the J2/Hypex combo that seems to work for more than one member here. Enjoy the road finding your perfect match....er, matches. Side note, I've not been keep up on the new Jubilee threads. Does the active crossover that comes with them allow for you to play with the crossover points, slopes, delay, etc. or is it a preprogrammed box from the factory. Any idea who makes it? The speakers look fantastic and I'm sure sound out of this world. I'd expect nothing less from the electronics.1 point

They look very tall from the front and then you see the side view and the look massive. Fortunately, this staging area with the jellyfish hanging did ok in sound tests. But all of the crystal in the kitchen across from the speakers would vibrate when the bass cabinets would hit a particular frequency. I have all of this disassembled now and am working on getting the bass bins downstairs to their final resting spot. There were four of us who attempted the move tonight and we failed. Too much weight and not enough spots to hold the cabinets while going down a hill. Going to invite a few more friends over (think I need 6) to accomplish the task this weekend.1 point

For RC-62: Keep your center to be closer to the level of your ear in listening position as much as posisble. Dunno whether it would be above or below of your screen [] You don't need those banana plugs at all. The benefit of banana plugs over barewire isjust good for keep moving the speakers around.1 point

Welcome aboard! Where do you live davidsonm? Your local dealer's pretty deep on that..... 2500 is actually the MSRP. Try to call some dealers that is a little more distant but they are willing to deliver for lower price. I think that'll even be lower than 2500. Yet you have to let your wife know what's going on [+o(] And never believe the sentence "it's not the money!" because wifes won't complain if the speakers were only $5 []1 point

I only have the Pioneer Elite 43TX and Audigy2ZS platinum for you need. For speakers I only have a pair of RB-5IIs that can spare out, my RF-3IIs are still rocking until I can get a pair of 83s [] . The older RW-10 sub was sold to another forum member earlier that do not have it anymore....... as in price....... depends on how many you need and what your budget at, we can figure something out later. Can't read korean........ but they look nice though, comparatively better than black because there's none of them around? []1 point

As they are on the same reference line and same generation, they should sound very similar. I would take the RB35s as you will get more out from the 2channel musics. And better upgrade path from going on. The sensitivity issue can be calibrated by your reciever easily, they do not come out exactly the same for every speaker anyway. 1 or 2 db do not affect too much after all.1 point
