https://www.discogs.com/release/3849724-Various-Selena-The-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack When I was in Texas for the AirForce in ´95 for the first time and her "I could fall in Love" was all over the radio. I wonder what would have happened, had she not been shot. Maybe she´d have taken JLo´s place (Who happened to play her character in this OSTs picture...).3 points

And what exactly would that DO? Talk about expectation bias. For absolute crystal silence place both wires from amp on the same speaker terminal3 points

Finally a beautiful day here in Duckburg. No baseball games to attend, my runnin's done and I've been sittin here all chill today. Thinking about a guest appearance at jam nite tonite. Should be interesting since a best friend packed it up about 3 weeks ago after a lifetime with the same guys. They brought in a couple young guys on on lead and added a kid on a B-3 who's actually pretty good. Both need b*%C% slapped a few times but that'll happen in time. So gettin kinda nosey. 😂 French doors open and totally jammin a ton of good stuff. Must be doin ok cause a bit ago I heard a "H3LL ya" outta the neighbor behind me. She's out werkin plantin flowers. hahaha... Gotta love tolerant humans cause I truly do push it! Yea, I woke up this mornin and got myself a beer! As if! See what ya started @billybob? All inclusive but missed a couple I love is the only problem. lol :)3 points

I see the Fortes as the Goldilocks model, the perfect Klipsch product for the most people. Great sound, great looks and they are far less room restrictive than other heritage models (LaScala, Khorn and Cornwall).2 points

I had a pair of '83 LS with the AL crossovers. I personally didn't like them, and built simpler networks designed by a forum member and sold the ALs to someone. They aren't necessarily a bad crossover. The '88 LS would have had newer models. The K-401 resin mid horn is better than the earlier cast aluminum K-400. The LS are great speakers, kinda wish I still had a pair. Enjoy yours, get used to them, and try them for low level, late night listening. (As an aside, and really not trying to get you to change anything. ... but... I always felt the mids were a little too hot, and everyone knows the bass rolls off. I adjusted my mids down 2 or 3 dB. This meant that adjusting the gain back up, the bass came up a little more and sounded more balanced to me without the mids being a 'chainsaw in your forehead' as some folks put it. ) We're all different, just enjoy!2 points

Fortes being the red headed step child is really not true. People on this forum seem to love them. They are well reviewed. I've had my IV's for 2 years and they are by far my favorite speaker I've ever owned, and I've owned a few. I think they are great for all kinds of music but are particularly great for rock and roll and metal. Really the only negative thing I've read about them on this forum is some people prefer other Klipsch heritage models over them. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn't mean they aren't great speakers.2 points

Forte IIs here going on about 23 years with them and they've been through a few moves and in several different listening spaces. The best ever was an older home with hardwood floors and high ceilings about 16x25 ft. Have carpet in current home and they still sound great. I've been using a Scott tube amp which I think has 17 watts per chan. I've never felt it was insufficient power but really have nothing to compare it to. No way to really "audition" something these days without just buying it. I think the Fortes's are pretty forgiving and lend themselves to a wide array of music styles and environments. The passive radiators allow for plenty of base. I've never felt bass-starved with them. They don't have the prestige of other Heritage models but are a really good value for the money if you can find a nice pair. I did have a chance to hear Chorus IIs at one point and they were also amazing.2 points

OK, yes, I own a pair of 1980 LaScala's with rebuilt ALK x-overs by the Grinch who stole Christmas, I assume you all know about Al. Anyhow, these birch cabs are not in superior shape. The theme in my listening room would be closer to walnut modern-looking furniture. The blond-looking unfinished birch wood with its 7-ply showing sides seems out of place. I thought about finding a wood-wooker to apply walnut veneer but I am having problems finding anyone local who is qualified to do such a job. Plus, I have no idea what that would cost. I also thought about doing something less complicated and just building a tweeter and mid horn speaker grille like shown on the attached image plus covering the exposed 7-ply on the front-facing edges with a flat mould. Of course, I don't know where to buy the speaker fabric as shown in the picture. I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has been through this same exercise in trying to make these Cornwalls more appealing to their wives with the modifications mentioned above?1 point

I own them, I know they are great speakers. When searching about Forte's on this forum, most threads say to just get Cornwalls, or Chorus. From what I have been reading, they are in the middle of the range. They are not a middle of the range speaker, at least for me. In my room, the Cornwalls are a bit on the big side, as good luck trying to find a set of used Chorus's. That's all I was saying.1 point

Yes George, I´m a good boy! 😁 I wonder when I´ll find the time to get the second TT running, finally... I sorted via Discogs, not sure if I like it like that... Bruce Springsteen would be found under "B" via Discogs, I would put it under "S", like I did with my CDs. Still thinking.1 point

I can't imagine you would need a subwoofer, considering the music you listen to. The Klipschorns play low enough to cover your bases. If you were playing rap or electronic music, or using the system for movies, then I could understand. So you may want to save your money. That said, if you must have a subwoofer, The Klipsch Reference Premier series is of course, to be considered. I have and like SVSound subs as their customer service, which I've taken advantage of, is timely and detailed in their answers. They have an excellent return policy and they have an outlet link on their web site where you can buy returned or refurbished units at a discount, which I did. Lastly, I like HSU Research because their subs come with the ability to play them ported or sealed so you can experiment to see what you like; it's like having two different subs in one.1 point

I have similar vintage La Scalas. I built risers for my La Scalas to raise the tweeters to my ear level (at my main listening position). I haven’t been able to notice — or measure — any diminishment of the low end. A popular mod is a DJK port. In addition to raising the La Scalas, it improves the low end response.1 point

Nice clean room that is perfect for Fortes. I think they like room to breath. One benefit of Fortes is they don't have to be close to the wall so you can get a little more 3D depth to the sound by pulling them out into the room a bit.1 point

I'm using Forte IIIs powered by a single Pass designed ACA (8 wpc) in a room that is approximately 6,000 cubic feet. And, my room does not lend itself to optimal placement or either speakers or listening position. I do not listen at particularly loud levels, and feel the Forte provides more than enough. Even with the low powered ACA I can drive the speakers to what I consider extremely loud. My back of my speakers are about 12" from the from the wall and I find the bass very satisfying. I still want to play more with positioning, but it is pretty good as it is.1 point

I have Forte'1's and I am still enjoying them. If I was in the market for new speakers I would consider the Forte IV's. I prefer to listen to my music at near concert volume levels which I have my Forte's 12" from the rear wall to optomize the low bass. This works out well since the front of the speakers are flush with my entertainment cabinet which doesn't make them look like they are protruding out into my room.1 point

missed the big week event but i did finally spend a hour last night with natalie and terry morre , and of course the awesome palladiums. they were magnificient. terry has a home theater design/install enterprise and has the full palladium home theater line up in his main demo room. the hour passed fast and i was invited back with a special invitation to bring my own amp/pre and cd player and terry would set up the 39's for just 2 channel , and i could go at it with my own cd.s. i am definetly going to do this next month. later for now. paul1 point

speakerexchange got back to me. here is what they say. no speaker manufacturers provide replacement surrounds. its all aftermarket. no good butyl surrounds are available in the klf 30 size. and even if they were they are difficult to redo. what is available is polyfoam. if they have the speaker measurements they can provide polyfoam. hmm. i wonder if anyone has done there k-31-k's in polyfoam ? paul1 point
