I have a pair of Khorns and Sansui amp and preamp up for grabs. It is time for some one else to get goose bumps when listening !!! Will accept offers. I replaced all the innards with Volti's best tweeter, Midrange & Woofer, and his best Crossover. The difference in sound from OEM to this was mind blowing. I used to play in concert bands and Jazz Bands. So I know what good sound is and is not. For those reading this you already know that Khorns reproduce sound better than just about anything else. I preformed the surgery myself. Being an Avionics tech, the job was easy. The VOLTI speakers and crossover set up, IMHO, perform better than even the anniversary speakers. The drivers are Volti's best German units! They are beyond the beyond. The Volti upgrade cost ~ $7,500 !! Then of course, the electronics in front make a huge difference. That is where the Sansui amp & pre shine. These two were lovingly restored by Paul Hovenga of Many Moons Audio. They should be good for another 44 years!. You really feel like it is a live performance in your home!!! I attended a Yani Concert a while back. When I got home, I played the same songs through Apple, lossless iTunes. Live VS Home was so close as to be scary! THE SANSUI amp and pre, were completely gone through and upgraded with caps etc. Everything performs as new. If you were to take a few minutes and look up the specs on the Sansui amp and pre-amp--- you will quickly discover that to find equipment with those specs is uber expensive. If you are the astute listener, you will also know that specs on paper is only part of the sound reproduction effort. Sansui, with these two, have accomplished the almost impossible. Just this one spec... Frequency response is 1hz to 600,000 hz! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED....NOPE NOT AT ALL, RATHER YOU WILL BE ENTHRALLED AND CAUGHT UP IN AUDIO NERVANA seldom heard by the human ear! Life is to short to miss this experience if you LOVE music. I used to travel Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. I would stop in different Audio stores. Nothing they had sounded better than my system, regardless of price! If you are interested, I would be happy to talk on the phone. Note: The speaker cabinets are not perfect like new. But then again they are not beat up like so many. I don't listen to the looks, but rather the sound. The small imperfections remind me live will never be perfect. To find them you have to search. From 3 feet away, they look new! They have ALWAYS lived in air conditioning! You will need to leave a voice mail, as my spam filter stays in operation. I will call back quickly! Located near Lafayette, La 70508. Asking see below for everything. Offers considered. Willing to sell speakers or amps separate. Thank you for looking ! Amps $3,150. Speakers $8,900 Sincerely, David 337-591-09104 points

I am not sure what you are saying. Are you saying the Sansui half as nice??? Thanks for the GLWS!1 point

So you have enough gain and I assume a volume control on the DAC? If so @hanksjim1 suggestion is a good one. But to digress. I would suggest addressing the room and/or system issues that make you think you need tone controls. Because I assure you they aren’t needed in a well thought out system unless you are on a steady diet of 1920s music.1 point

Sun's up in Duckburg. All's quiet and I'm thinking about blowing out the hood. Thursday night football in high schools? Yuuuppp. Had a local game last night. This is gonna be interesting down the road. "Nope, can't. It's Tuesday and I have a game tonight." Perfect! 😂1 point

The beauty of it is until you put that ring on the finger, you don't have to justify anything.....1 point

Welcome back Matthews. Your projects were missed. We need pictures of what you do with these latest pair. I think Schu was asking the dog's name.1 point

Oxalic acid can be used to remove stains, which is the active ingredient in the product you've linked. It's also the active ingredient in Bar Keeper's Friend, which is likely more affordable (not that the product in the link above is particularly expensive).1 point

I have heard that listening to music promotes the physical healing process. Even though the stitches from the surgery are still in my spine and I feel like a wild boar, every meter of walking demands immense strength from me, I have to listen to music again ....... Spyro Gyra " catching the sun " is a good start btw ..I reactivated my DIY german MI / MM Tube Phono Pre " SteinMusic " PCC 88 with external psu, haven´t used it for more than two years now . For this phono stage I use NoS PCC 88 Tubes from Valvo, Siemens Munich and Tesla1 point

Givin new meaning to a sync play @KROCK? Lookin good brother. Still have piles from the weekend I could post and a pile of new stuff I haven't begun to post. Blah. It'll wait. Might have a hair cut today but we'll finger that one out after coffee. This place is a nightmare of piles. 😂1 point

Fun day yesterday w/the hearing aid crew. Nuff said on that one. More to come, which should be funny. Then the monthly text msg from the lawn care service, which is turning into another wallet rape. 😂 The grass grows without rain and the groud ivy has doubled in size. Sounds about right. Can't get much better than that. Next year I go back to work. 5 times a summer at 110 a trip? Seriously? Back to the Cub Cadet and spreader. I got this. Crazy for sure. Life? Yea, turning into another laffer. It ALWAYS sorts kinda maybe. Coffee's good though.1 point

Thanks for all the help guys. I went ahead and manned up and bought the RF-62 II towers! I got the cherry ones for $800 shipped for the pair from Crutchfield. Super stoked to get these. I use to own the older Reference version of these...the RF-25's. Had to sell them many years ago and have been wanted another pair. Loved the sound they produced. I also have a set of Forte II's, but they might go in the living room of the new house i am buying. The Reference towers are for the game room.1 point

Thoughts between the two? Best Buy has the B-3's on sale for under $300 a pair and my local Reference dealer probably wants close to retail for the RB-61's (which I think is around $450). Anyone here had a chance to directly compare the two? I last had RF-25 towers and I hated having to sell them, but I was in a bind and needed to. Looking for something close to having a similiar sound to them. I know the RB-61's would be a better speaker, but is the cost difference worth it? Thanks!1 point

Bumping my own question. Anyone know where I might buy this stand/rolling cart? I asked this over 2 years ago and still don't know the source of it.1 point

edit: Sorry folks, but I am going to need to cancel this sale. Thanks! Hiya Gang! Long time, no post. Looking to upgrade some equipment, so I am looking to sell off my current stuff. I have a pair of black Klipsch RF-25s for sale. They are a little over 1 year old. Since I live in an apartment, they haven't been driven hard or abused. Overall excellent condition. I would like to sell these locally, or to someone willing to drive to pick them up. I don't want to ship them due to size and weight. Don't have the original boxes, but I do have the floor spike kits for them (never installed). I am asking $350 for the pair. Also, I have a Denon 3802 receiver for sale. A virtual legend in its own time. Typically these sell on eBay for around $350 plus shipping. I am looking for $300 plus shipping. Includes the receiver, remote and manual. If someone wants both of them, I will sell them for local pickup for $625. This is the best I have of them currently, but I will take some better ones later once I am home. Its hard to tell, but the 3802 is underneath the cable box on the right hand side of the rack on the bottom shelf.1 point

Both the 3802 and the RF-25's are still available. I am willing to make someone a killer deal on both these for local pickup. I need the money, please help a brotha out.1 point

Just an update for everyone. I have atleast one or two offers on these and I am just waiting to see if anything pans out. Thanks!1 point

Well, downsizing in a sense of not having multiple sets of large floor standing speakers setting around my apartment. Plus theres no guarantee I will move up to RF-7s. The girlfriend might veto that move. She just hates that I have all this stuff in our home. I have sold off quite a bit of electronics, video games and other stuff..1 point

Aesthetically my girlfriend likes the black RF-25's better. Plus the dealer I bought them from will let me just pay the difference if I want to upgrade up the Reference line.1 point
