  3. As the title says I made my first foray into Klipsch with a pair of Forte III. I am stunned at how nice they sound paired with my Jolida tube amplifier running 6550s and a Conrad Johnson preamp. I'm hearing recorded music in a whole new light. The clarity is stunning! Horn instruments, stringed instruments, woodwinds, pianos and voices sound so incredibly realistic. Not like anything I've heard. The midrange is incredible for overdriven guitar. Bass can get get deep and thump. I'm noticing little things I've never heard before like picks hitting strings, Lee Morgan taking a breath during a solo, different layers in recordings, etc. I've always had "East Coast" speakers in the past, which can be a little laid back, and these are so uniquely different it took a little getting used to and dialing them in. I was kind of disappointed at first. Once I got placement correct the bass improved dramatically and the soundstage improved 10 fold. Now they are incredible! Thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing tips etc. Your posts were immensely helpful when I first received the speakers! Looking forward to experimenting with different speaker upgrades and equipment in future!

  4. Never heard a cover of that song that I ever truly appreciated. I get that groups want to "make it their own". It was part of the Himalayan ride at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion when it came out until they demolished the place decades later. RamJam just can't be covered properly or hasn't benn by the right band that I've heard yet.

  5. I'd agree with that @JohnJ but ya gotta admit Larkin Poe's shot is pretty darn good. For a couple of sisters they're pretty much slayin things on tour. It's that younger generation yanno. lol They're great live from what I've been told.

  6. It's probably made from an original. Question is, when they put that out in the 70s was it analog from start to finish. Contrary to what I've heard from others here my few from back then do sound better than the regular copies and vice-versa with friends copies!

  7. I agree with 1MoreFord, you’ll see a dramatic difference if you upgrade your center speaker first.

  10. I just got my first pair Klipsch at 59 years old the Forte III SE delivered about 45 minutes ago. They are in perfect condition using a PrimaLuna Evo 300i with EL 34’s. My sources are SME10 TT and a streamer with a Schiit Bifrost 2 dac and a Nakamichi RX- 505 cassette deck. Also solid state Ayre V-3 newly restored and a Classe Cp-60 newly restored. I can’t wait to hear high powered solid state on these guys. I’m blown away by the huge soundstage the speakers make and they completely disappeared and I just plopped them down! And I was always told stay away from Klipsch because they are to bright and fatiguing and honky sounding. They are not anything like that whatsoever smooth open punchy and incredibly realistic. I still love my Hales Design Group speakers and my Sonus Faber Extremas. These two speakers I mentioned are a lot more money than the Forte III’s but the Forte’s are 90% or more of said speakers. It’s a totally different listening experience. I’m just thrilled to death over the build quality and the sound of these speakers. Klipsch has a new fan. These guys are incredible for the money, as far as value better than my more expensive speakers. Too bad it took 59 years to get some. And I was told the Forte IV’s are better than these, wow. Anyway nice to join the group, it’s going to be a long fun night. Already lining up records I want to hear on these beast. This is like having a band in your room. I feel like I’m 18 again when I bought my first stereo. Sorry for the high school reply, I’m just ecstatic over these guys. INCREDIBLE SPEAKERS!!!!🤘🏼🤘🤘🏾

  20. So, Tuesday evening the wife and I stopped by the pharmacy to pick up her prescriptions. The pharmacist asked if I was ready for my second shingles vaccine shot. Plus I asked about the new covid shot. He said I could have both at the same time. Kicked my butt! Only a little bit of a sore arm from the shingles shot, same as the first, but I stayed in bed and slept ALL day and all night. I still feel like I could sleep some more, but I'm back to work.

  22. Well, the forecast called for rain over this entire region up until after I saw it in the afternoon. Left early and did 90 something miles in two hours. It's five degrees cooler now that I've traveled west. So I get a 2-hour wait and then hopefully no more stones for a while.

  25. I'm somewhat new to this, for the second time, myself but my take and suggestion would be that your AVR is good enough(and better than mine!) for your speakers. I'd say upgrade your center channel to at least the Rp-450c or Rp-504c. Look at Amazon for authorized vendors, currently good pricing, and the ability to return painlessly if you don't like one of them. The next thing I'd look at is your Sub since your sub specs only go down to 29hz +/- 3db and Low Frequency Effects in movies go 10-15hz below that. Sorry no recommendations for a sub.

  26. I have the bathys and love them. The noise canceling works amazing I flew to Nashville and back to Cali last week and rocked out on the bathys both ways and only heard the plane when we landed. Those Focal cans sound wonderful.

  34. @Abomb Bobby Jarzombek School Quite technical. clean notes and soft touch. Not my kind of drummer. He is probably one of the best. He seems young in this video. he has certainly grown and developed since. for that I have no doubt. Issue if any. Moves in a straight line. Start and stops are generally same. Notes are not 4/4 or subsets of that throughout music. timing alterations of soundscape and backwards and forwards skills are underutilized here. biggest issue if any. He isn't jamming. He is pausing waiting for a note to start hitting things. Traveling in sound is getting off to it. Flowing. His is brickish. again technical and cold. IMHO. Mark Zonder - side by side (Fates Warning) Opeth - Master's Apprentice or even Pearl Jam - 10 That album has what no other PJ album has. IMHO I mean to feel it and get there, drum playing. Listen to the first 10 seconds of King Diamond - Abigail. You know the journey you are about to go on.🤐

  35. I think it's great. As previously mentioned I am in fact a drummer. Zonder actually plays on two tracks, as well as a true drum God Bobby Jarzombek who in my opinion is on another lvl. If you have never heard of him YouTube him playing the song "School". That's a song from his Brothers band Spastic Ink. So no worries from the drumming end of things on this album.

  36. How is the album? I hate to ask. Those guys are from FATES WARNING. Nice to see! For the longest time my favorite band hands down. For whatever reason John left the band. For whatever reason Master Drummer Mark Zonder left the band. I just hit YOUTUBE. Heard a few pieces. Mixed feelings. 😑

  42. There were three or four women where I work who did gastric Band surgery. Only one looks halfway normal, the others look like walking death. A lady in our accounting office was way overweight, couldn't walk very far or bend over to pick up things. She started the Golo plan early in the year. She doesn't buy their food, although is is actually reasonably priced. She's lost about 75 lbs and is look very healthy. Plus she can now do long walks, pick up things, etc. She can vary what she eats, splurge on a weekend and get ice-cream if she wants.

Unencumbered by physical ailments, the ability to see and embrace your loved ones. And to carry on intelligent conversations with a relatively clear mind. And to hear and enjoy your wonderful Klipsch speakers.
