  1. Wait, are they doing this at all Tweeters? I've been saving up for that TV....
  2. I just tried what you guys said, it did sound slightly better, but I noticed a rattling noise inside the sub, time to email SVS!
  3. Hey everyone, right now i'm loving my first setup, HK AVR520, RC3II, and RF3IIs, but, some things are troubling me. First, any LFE, comes from all speakers including the sub. I have my mains set to large, my center set to large (should it be?), and sub set to LFE. Shouldnt all low frequency sound be coming from the sub alone and nothing else? What could the problem be? My other question, if a sub related question, I might as well include it in this thread. Last night I was over at my cousins house watching Tears of the Sun, he has a cheap JBL setup, very small speakers, and what looked to be a 12 inch sub. Now, whenever there was an explosion in the movie, it would have some punch to it, you would feel it in your chest and throughout your body. He had his sub just sitting out in the open, no corners, and his living room is exposed to the rest of the house. I, have an SVS Pb2-isd, its against a wall since I dont have a corner, and the room is also exposed to the rest of the house. In all respects, my SVS should destroy his JBL, but it doesnt. It digs deeper, but it lacks that punch that his sub has, could this be because of the problem I first explained? Or would moving to a closed room solve this entirely? Thanks for taking the time to read through all that, any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Ah, to the man who got me my first receiver, happy bday!
  5. Device Manager, check Good Guys if you have one locally, 3 in my area still have them at 157 a peice, and theyre Authorized.
  6. It will drive the RF7s better than any other reference/synergy out there, it has the highest sensitivity at 102dB at 1 watt at 1 meter. Meaning with something as little as 20 watts, it will get goin pretty nicely.
  7. If you must, get the RC3II, they can be had for 157 if your local goodguys still has one. I'm gonna go ahead and say unless you plan on getting RF7s later on, that RC7 is gonna seriously overpower the mains.
  8. Check goodguys, they have the RC3II for 260 something each, and an RC3II (just picked one up!) for 157.
  9. Thats a great price, brand new? I got the avr520 from m00n (thanks again!) for 400 bucks, and its nothing short of awesome.
  10. Just check around some sites like www.acousticsounddesign.com and try to haggle a little above that.
  11. 2 words my friend, Klipsch Reference Check out the RF35s, or the older RC3II if you can still find them, usually goodguys has some for 226 each. Also, if your budget is a little higher, try the RF5s or RF7s, excellent speakers. To top it off, check www.svsubwoofers.com the Pb2isd is killer.

    Bose

Try this. Go to your yellow pages. Find a local Good Guys store. Drive to said store. Ask to demo Bose. Ask to Demo Klipsch, ANY Klipsch. Walk out with new Klipsch speakers Seriously, a room that big will need some big speakers, try the reference series and an SVS, at www.svsubwoofers.com
  13. Nice setup WS65711! I'd go with the RF5's, I demoed both the RF3II (VERY similar to the RF35) with the RF5, big difference in sound. And just to correct DeanG for a second, the RF35 also uses an 8in cone, not a 6inch.
