I don't know, both of mine have been perfect all these years with no amp issues. Even if I had an amp failure I would just buy a new plate amp or something. These subs are killer IMO and were easily the best bang for the buck when they were being sold.

I would go with option 2 in a dedicated room that is used 80% for HT and only 20% music.

The biggest launch in years would have to be a new line. So I am guessing a new line above the RF line but below the Palladium. Like some have said, hopefully a 3-way line. I could also see them updating or coming out with a new home theater line that is better than the THX line or replacing the THX line. I also can see Klipsch getting into the car audio market. So in order, here are my three guesses: 1. New line between RF and Palladium 2. New Home Cinema line 3. Car audio

If I had it like that right now I couldn't think of a nicer person to help out but unfortunately I have my own JVC projector fund that needs help LOL.

I don't like the sub $2,500 stipulation. The only reason I say this is because I researched projectors a lot and feel like JVC is hands down the way to go but to get there you'll need $3000+ unless you can find a Youthman deal there in Florida somewhere. JVC makes an amazing projector. Nothing I have seen compares to them in 2d anywhere near their price range. As deep as you are into your theater room at this point, I'd either wait til you can swing a JVC or just dip into savings if you need to and make it happen. It's like the final stamp on the theater room and you should go all out on it IMO. LOL In all seriousness though, every JVC I have seen knocks your socks off.

Better than using a razor blade to spread them out, grab one and use the end of a screw driver or something and thump it on the nose a few times. It spreads them out with one hit, nice and easy. Banana plugs is all I use, So hold the back end and hit the part that plugs in dead center and watch it spread out. If it spreads too wide, don't worry just gently push them in a little.

We watched this last night, thought it was pretty good with great LFE. I'm proud to say the Epik Empires took the LFE sweep in the beginning like a champ, never bottomed out. I enjoyed this and Oblivion both.

Digital Optic I hope. I'm still not entirely sold that HDMI produces better audio than Optical. Its not even close. Hdmi holds 15x the audio size vs optic. I was also not sure many years ago tell I a/b them. Yeah, fiber optic can't handle DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD, you need HDMI.

At one point I was running a 7.2 setup with 7 RF-7's all the way around. The nice tower speakers are wasted at those surround and rear locations IMO. There just isn't enough going on back there to use justify using them not to mention you can mount surrounds up higher which helps as well. As to Chorus ll vs RF-7, they are both great. I always stuck with the RF-7 in the theater room due to them being taller and thinner which worked best for my theater room.

I would imagine the cinema line is as good or probably even better due to much larger horns and cabinets. With the Palladium you are paying as much for very fine quality furniture as you are the sound. It's a complete package but it has design limitations trying to appeal to high end decor. I can build a 2500 lb rat rod with a 700 HP motor for 20k and smoke any 60-80k car out there. It won't have the fit and finish and comfort but it will be faster. Same goes for speakers.

Oh I have not tossed it out as an option. I am just trying to get an idea of what drivers are the best option if I were to go with the 2-way setup. I may end up having to piece the system together over time if my business doesn't pick up so I'm trying to figure out the best option with the k402 to start with. I am assuming the 3-way is the most expensive option.

I run RB-75's in the rear of a 7.3 system. IMO you won't notice much difference at all between the RS-62 and the RB-75 in the rears until they start using those channels more in movies. Most movies still seem to be 5.1 and when they are 7.1 the rears still seem way under used IMO. Since you're already using the RS-62 I don't think it's worth spending money on RB-75's just for that. The RB-75 is however worth owning IMO so if you find a sweet deal, jump on it! They are awesome bookshelf speakers.

Lot's of great info in this thread and another thread that I was catching up on yesterday for quite awhile. In that thread a lot was said with lot's of different opinions on what a good compression driver is with the 402. It ranged from the stock k69 to the Faital HF200 offered by Bob Crites to the B&C, the BMS, the TAD and it kept going I believe. I thought I was onto something with the BMS driver in a two way setup and then several people came in saying the 3-way with stock drivers was better than everything else. Information overload lol. So... just to keep this short, I'll leave the 3-way out of it. If I were going with the 2-way system, is the best bang for the buck driver for the k402 the BMS 4592ND? I know the TAD is amazing but the price and availability is probably not going to be an option right off the bat. I guess my question is, when you mention a good compression driver for the k402, on a list with the TAD being the best driver, what would be the next best driver?

I guess that the listener liked a lot of THD in his sub The Epik Empire actually reads better on the graph you posted than the Danley DTS-10... always look below 40 Hz, not above, when assessing subwoofer performance. EDIT: Above 40 Hz, you're really talking about bass bin performance. I've found that you typically want to use a separate bass bin from subwoofer due to modulation distortion issues that propagate from the lowest octave and a half of audibility/sensation, i.e., about 15-40 Hz, which of course is directly related to the motion of the driver's cone. This is the subwoofers' reason for existence: to isolate these issues in the lowest frequency drivers/horns so that generated distortion products will not propagate via modulation distortion to the more audible higher frequencies. Well there you go, I was looking from 40 Hz to 200 Hz lol. What are your thoughts on the Jubilee vs the KPT-942/4? The reason I ask is I find myself more attracted to the bass region of Chorus ll's and Cornwalls than I am to the LaScala and Khorn. I have a feeling I would prefer the sound of the KPT-942 or 942/4 over the folded horn of the Jube.

I was just curious why you thought the SH-50 or 60 needed so much help. Here is another example this time of Danley SH-50's with Epik Empires. Quite a few people are running SH-50/60 setups now and I have never heard of anyone needing a Jubilee bin or MCM, that is why I asked. From all accounts I can find, people say these systems are the among the best they have ever heard at any price with just the speakers and a sub. Back to the original question, Danley SH-50 vs Jubileee, that is very close to what I am interested in as well. Instead of the Jubilee however I am interested in the KPT-942 or KPT 942/4 and the SH-50 and SH-60. Those are the top four speakers on my list when I'm ready to upgrade.

Why do you say that? A lot of people are running the SH50 and I've never heard of anyone crossing over high like that with them. They are only down 10 dB at 37 Hz. Maybe you're confusing the Danley SH50 with the Danley SM60M which is down 10 dB at 170 Hz. Even so, here is an account of said speakers used with Epik Empire subs that show how a non-horn loaded sub sounds amazing with them. SM60M with Epik Empires.

Beautiful! Florida is like a Klipsch honey hole! We hardly ever get any Klipsch stuff on the used market here in Houston. I have never seen a RSW-15 that's for sure, much less two that match!

Beautiful... the grills really step them up a notch. Just out of curiosity did you price the KPT-942 or KPT-942/4? I would love to hear the 902 vs the 942 side x side. Something about that k402 horn just speaks to me. It might not be practical at all lol. Very nice speakers and at that price point it has to be the best bang for the buck around.

They keep sending me emails telling me my XMC is in as well. I will not be buying one until they have it 100% complete. That means the room correction software and all bugs worked out. I hope it's an awesome unit, let us know!

Great job!!! That looks really good. When I saw the first picture putting down the wood/tile at the entry I got worried the whole room was getting it lol. I breathed a sigh of relief in the next photos as I saw the padding and carpet going in hahaha. Great job buddy, I bet it sounds amazing in there too.
