  1. Great info thanks. The tweeters and all the drivers are like this. Front has non removable grill with the pie badge.
  2. Thanks Gary for your opinion. These are H-700 ( 1970-72) I think the same as Heresy I's. Not the early original center channel model. They don't have the original crossovers I think they been "upgraded" to Crites E crossovers. So from what I think I read that may add more bass even. Not sure I'm new to all the crossover stuff. I had my Heresy II's for quite some time ( stock). I noticed they have less highs some might say smoother. Also bigger bass sound that seems a hair slower than the older ones. The older ones are tighter in bass super precise on the top end love that about them. When I go back to the Heresy II's they seem dull like I am missing something. Then I get used to them which isn't hard I been listening to them for years. Then I go back to the old ones and I miss that low mid punch. I appreciate all the input I'm thinking on trading my II's for these not sure yet. I was thinking down the road I maybe able to tweak the originals for more low midrange. I would not want to compromise the highs though. Where I don't think I can change the character of the highs on the II's to be like the originals. I think those alnico magnets add some unique character I like. Low bass isn't a concern I use a sub woofer. Right now they are dead even to me in performance just different strengths.
  3. Thanks Budman. Anyone hear both versions and hear this low mid dip I'm hearing on the old ones?
  4. Hello, does anyone notice a low mid hole or dip in the sound of these older speakers? Say compared to the Heresy II's I've been going back and forth between the sets. I love them both for different reasons. Do these older early 70's have the same tweeters and midrange horns as the Klipschorns?
  5. Snow leopard arrives 8/28/09, 29 dollars ( 7 or so gigs lighter and 64bit, and faster). Alrighty then I'm in.
  6. No I got the new mini, but went all out got a wireless apple keyboard, and mouse. I also scored a 20" cinema monitor on ebay that really makes it even sweeter. For my needs this monitor is perfect damn near perfect color where ever you view it. I did run the mini with my old monitor for a bit though and it was cool too. The hardrive is a tad slower than I was used to but its worth it to me. Its just so quiet I don't think I would want to speed it up for a noisier one. Plus the thing barely even uses power it's less than most 40 watt light bulbs when pushed.
  7. Nice! I would like to get a Marshall one of these days. I might as well test firefox while I am at it. It worked thanks Thump!
  8. Thanks and welcome to the forum. Yeah much less stress no doubt about it.
  9. Thump, Kerry King Kevin that setup is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Love the Marshalls too. I am trying to figure out why my posts don't separate in paragraphs when I click post. It just strings along. I didn't write it out this way intentionally.
  10. I know where your coming from I was one of those tinkers. That is kind of cool tinkering around with a home build pc still is I would imagine, but that's where it ends for me. I may get into supin' up my mac down the road but not by much. I like how quiet it is, and reliable so it seems. Nice not having to wait for anti virus scans all day long, and randomly bogging your system down.
  11. I remember babbling on ages ago about how I may get a Mac. I finally did, and I like it. I honestly can't see myself going back. You Apple users weren't insane after all ranting on an on about how good life was. Seriously though it is much more stress free, and WOW what do you do on a computer? I was so used to fixing them I didn't know you could be creative. I still got to work on that. To top it all off this old hick has DSL up in the house. It's been a long long time coming. Well I am not here to sell Apple computers so thats about it. I hope everyone is doing well.
  12. Nice bright attack yet still syrupy if need be using the proper input. My Heresy II next to it. It's a mid 60's Silvertone/ Sears amp.
  13. Yeah this was darn good I just got around to finally viewing this. Another pretty good "doc" style is Les Paul: Chasing Sound. More doc than music but still a must see I think.

    Outlander

I liked this flick though it's not great, but worth a watch it kind of came out of nowhere for me. Aliens in the "iron age" who would of thunk it?
  15. Man you got to do the retro gaming/ shop channel. Try megaman or anything old school everything else afterwards is downright child's play. Wiiware has some cool stuff in the works, and they just added arcade ware which is true ports of original arcade games. I can't wait to see what comes out for that. Don't forget for the newer stuff if you like easy gaming the Conduit will be coming with online play.

    Hellboy 2

This movie was unexpected I thought the first one was ok nothing great, but this one pretty much rocked.
  17. I agree with Mike about google. I'm not to big on firefox ( piclens is awesome though) then again if I were running a Mac or linux I'm sure I would make it work for me. Opera is cool too I like having the variety. Its great we can try these out to see what we like at really no cost to us. If anyone is interested in the whole "social" interacting on the web there is another browser called "Flock" ( powered by Mozilla). I haven't tried it because I don't' have a myspace account or really do any of that sort of thing the browser is geared towards. It looks good for folks that are into that sort of thing.

    Tropic Thunder

Holy smokes I haven't seen a movie this funny in years. Be very careful if your eating with this one I almost choked to death. The cast is near perfect and the soundtrack is great. JUST A NOTE: There is some pretty perverse comedy in this film which some would not like at all including me, but there was enough silly stuff to keep me watching it.
  19. Hang in there OB and may God be with you.
  20. This game can only be purchased on the shop channel of the wii. I managed to get my dial up connection to connect to the shop channel. I bought this game the other night and haven't had a lot of time to play it, but it's a cool game for 15 dollars. The artwork is excellent and the physics are real cool plus the puzzles are just unique. You got to try this one out if you own a wii. I'm not sure but it maybe online compatible also. I think the more levels you clear there is a special section where you can build a tower of goo, and compare them to other online competitors. I think the goal is to build the highest tower of goo from goos' you earned from clearing levels? Maybe someone can comment on that who owns it also. Not sure but this wiiware channel is very promising I hope they let us have a hardrive soon I won't have any space for all the games I want. This purchase took 300+ blocks ( up to 4 players).
