  1. are you an employee of best buy kenratboy? couldnt really understand your post
  2. In case any other best buy employee was wondering, the new klipsch accomadation is out and it includes all the synergy series that we carry at 60 percent off retail.
  3. I know wharfedale makes really good high end stuff, but Im unsure about the Zaldek line. Its basically between the Klipch sf-2 for 360 a pair, the athena asf2 for 240 a pair, and the wharfs for 240 a pair as well. What would you guys do?
  4. I also work at a Best Buy( I work in video, we seperate audio and video), and was wondering if any representative from Klipsch has come to your store yet. I am hoping that they will come around soon and give us an accomodation on Klispch like we have on Athena and other brands. If they have came around what did they offer for accomodation? Im trying to hold off on picking up a pair of sf-2's. By the way have you guys heard the wharfedale's? The 60 percent off thing sounds pretty good but I never heard them.
  5. I was wondering if it was worth using an older onkyo reciever for a two channel set up with some sf-2's. I heard that the old onkyo stuff was made better then the new stuff, is that true? I dont have a model number but the reciever is a good 6 years old. So does anyone have any comments on using an old reciever?
  6. I was looking online and found a website called AcousticSoundDesign.com which seemed to offer the reference series at a really good price. I was wondering If the rf 15 floorspeakers were any good? How do they compare to the synergy sf2's? The website has the rf-15's for $419 for the pair which I thought were pretty cheap, especially when the sf-2's go for about 6oo a pair at best buy. Im hoping some of you guys know which ones I should go for. THe website also has the rf3's for 600 a pair. Im assumming thats a better speaker then the sf-2's, am i right? The thing is, in my situation I can get the sf2's for 380 a pair! So Im wondering which setup to go for...sf-2=$380,rf-15=$480(with shipping), and the rf-3's about 650 with shipping. These are all pair prices. Please help! Oh yeah my reciever is 65 wpc, is that enough for any of these speakers?
  7. I wanted to know if it was a good idea to mount my center channel on the wall instead of putting it on top of my t.v( my t.v is too "skinny" and I have a basic tv stand) I just purchased the complete synergy series, sf-2 main, the big center that they have, the big surrounds, the 12 inch sub ksw-12. All synergy cant remember all the model numbers. Im putting it to the yamaha 5660 amp, 85 wpc. Any comments on the system, did I do a good job?
  8. Are you sure that the sf-2's are being replaced with the lower end refrence speakers? If so, does that mean best buy will carry refrence? It seems weird that best buy would discontinue the sf-2's since they just got them in
  9. Ok...here's a weird question. I have an onkyo tx-sr500, 300 bucks, 65 wpc. To all the people here with more expensive recievers, do you guys have to crank the volume to at least 50 to get good volume. For mine to be loud, im usually at 63 or so. I was wondering if even on better units, the volume is above half for it to be loud. Is this a normal thing, or is it just because my reciever is sorta entry level?
  10. just wondering boomac, why would you need that?
  11. Like thor, I was also wondering if it was worth investing as much as possible in speakers when I would be using the same reciever. In my case I have an onkyo tx-sr500, pretty much entry level, 65 wpc. I remember when upgrading my car audio I was never satisfied because I purchased awesome speakers but I never put enough power to them. Would I have the same problem If i get real nice speakers and keep the same onkyo reciever I have now. Basically im afraid that I wont hear the full potential of high-end speakers without upgrading my reciever(which I really dont want to do)Im looking at the synergy floorspeakers at least, maybe better.
  12. I have a discount on the synergies and athenas as well. I want to get new floorspeakers so I am wondering if the bose are worth it due to the significant discount. I'll probably end up going with the sf-2.
  13. ok.....but what if you can get bose for half off? should i still look elsewhere for new floorspeakers?
  14. I dont understand why everyone hates bose, I heard the cube speakers at a buddys house and i thought they sounded really good. Are they really that bad? I swear i dont own anything bose but is it possible that people dont like them because they are expensive?
  15. Is anyone familiar with the Athena floorspeakers? I was wondering how they rated compared to the klipsch synergy series. Any comments would be appreciated
  16. does anyone want to explain what a preamp is? Is it better to add a additional amp or just upgrade your complete reciever?
  17. I heard best buy is starting to carry athena products as well as the synergy series klipsch. Anyone have any comments on the athena floorspeakers compared to the klipsch synergy?
  18. I have an onkyo tx-sr500 reciever and i am thinking abount adding the klipsh synergy floor speakers for my front two channels. my question is if my 65watts by 5 onkyo enough power to handle the klipsh speakers or am i just wasting my money? I was also looking into the athena floorspeakers as well. Right now I am running the onkyo 6 piece set. They were about 300 for the set cant remember the model name. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
