  1. I have a 128 meg I-river and it works great. Has an FM radio, and its very easy to use. I would recommend it. Was $99 at Best Buy.
  2. Shipping company just called me, and said the speakers would be here at 2 tommorow. Can't wait. Looking at them at bestbuy, they are just like the rest of the synergy. Aluminum tweeters and poly cones.
  3. Mine should be here today or tommorow. They shipped out last tuesday. Got a complete sf3 package with sc3 center and ksw12" sub.
  4. Northeast is nice. I lived up off Paseo between ventura and eubank. I worked in Rio Rancho, took me about 20 minutes to commmute. There are nice areas all over.
  5. Got the reciever hooked up. Sounds good like it is, even with ****ty Bose 301 speakers. 1000x better than the TV speakers. Can't wait to get my new speakers.
  6. Ok, order form is filled out. 2 SF3s 1 SC3 a pair of SS5s (don't want anything too huge in rear) 1 ksw-12 For my little apartment, this setup should be awesome. The denon reciever still hadn't shipped, and I don't want to wait forever, so I cancelled it. Going to run to work in an hour and pick up a yamaha 5660. Not bad for all under $800.
  7. Got the klipsch stuff figured out. Going with sf3s for sure. Now what center channel. Problem is it has to sit on top of a 32" sony vega. Price is not an issue. I can get the sc5, sc1, or sc3. I'm leaning towards jus the sc5 due to space.
  8. Stupid work changed the computer system all up and now no one knows how to access the accomodation programs. The klipsch link is broken. I'll try calling klipsch customer service monday and see if they will let me order the speakers, or see if anyone there knows how I can order some speakers.
  9. Now I'm thinking JBL s312s. 1" titanium tweeter, 12" woofer, 4" mid. Normally $499 a piece, I get them for $180.
  10. Pretty much decided on SF2s, maybe the SF3s if the price is right. sc1, ss5s, and ksw12. Its a small room and I sit about 4 feet from the TV/speakers, so I don't need to go overboard but this setup would probably be fine for later on.
  11. We can also get wharfedales and celestions, but I'm wary of buying a speaker I've never heard. Read some good stuff about wharfedales. SF3s are $850 a set I believe. I can get the sf-2s for I believe $240ish, so that would be hard to beat. The JBL e80s would be just a bit more.
  12. I work at bestbuy and get a significant discount on speakers there. While not opposed to buying else where, I want good bang for the buck. I'm putting together a home theater setup for my apartment. Just a college student working at bestbuy. I didn't like any of of the recievers are bestbuy, so I ordered a Denon 1804 online which should arrive any day now. I got a 36" sony vega, xbox, and sony DVD player to hook up, and now need speakers. Room is a small apartment. I want towers up front, and something small for the rear. So, out of the brands bestbuy sells, any suggestions or places online to get better equipment for the price. I got $600-900 to spend. The sf2s sound ok, but not great. The new JBL E series are pretty impressive. Reading on this board, everyone pretty much hates the synergy series, but for my cost on them, can I do better? Figure about 40% off what bestbuy charges on any speakers. The athenas sound good also but I don't like their center or sub. I was thinking of maybe ordering a quintet set, using the center and rears, then getting some towers for up front. Probably a KSW-10 sub unless I can do better for the price.
  13. Bestbuy just got acoustic research power conditioning surge protectors. Better specs on them than the monsters, and $29 for a 2100 joule, 8 outlet, with coax in/out. I got one last night.
  14. I work at Bestbuy, and since we got the synergy series, I liked them. After reading this forum, I had to venture out to a real store and try out the reference series. Went to Satelite City, and asked to listen to them. The sales man started out with the RF7s in a home theater setup. Using the Klipsch rear surrounds and rsw15 sub. All that I can say is the rsw15 is impressive and loud. The soub overpowered everything in the room. Then he went to a 2 channel setup to play some music on the RF7s. The choice of music wasn't great, but you could hear that the speakers were pretty damn nice. He put on some of the smaller reference towers (rf-15, rf-25, rf-35). They were just not impressive at all after hearing the RF7s. Overall, they were nice speakers and I was impressed. Out of my budget for a long time, but nice to see what else Klipsch makes.
  15. Most people want the cheapest crap they can buy. We sell tons of KLH and other no name brands. People are stupid and don't spend money wisely. Ohh well, I guess it keeps the economy going or something.
  16. Samsung DLPs are hard to get. We have a waiting list at the Bestbuy I work at to get one. There is 3-4 people that have paid and are just waiting for their DLPs to come in. The warehouse got 47 of them the other day, and they all sold in under an hour. Crazy stuff. Must be a nice TV.
  17. Bestbuy owns Futureshop, so that may be why they are similar And I make $7.50 an hour at Bestbuy, not mearly $7. 2 more sf2s out the door tonight. Not a single bose thanks to me
  18. Complete sf2 package, including sf2s, sc1, ss1s, and ksw12 and a yamaha 6.1 reciever is $1999, not $3000. KSW12 is $499 KSW10 is $399 and probably the most popular "higher end" sub. Most people just get the $99 sony sub.
  19. We sell tons of Klipsch at our store. Probably cause thats all I push, and explained to the other employees why they are better than the rest.
  20. I work at Bestbuy, and constantly get customer coming in that just purchased a new house that is prewired for audio. They have the living room wired for 5.1, and then 2 speakers in each room of the house. Most have 4-5 rooms wired up. They all want to come in and buy a $200 reciever and have it run all the speakers at once. I tell them they can't do that, cause a 100x5 reciever can't play 10-16 speakers at once. So, what do they need? Do they need an amp for each room? Is there special stereos/recievers setup for a multiroom setups? I have no idea what to recommend when they want to do this.
  21. If your brother is an employee, he can look up the accomdations program using the computer, and get you whatever you want. Employee pricing should not be discussed in an open forum like this. BTW, I've sold two SF2 packages this week alone. $1300 a piece. Customers seem to love them once they listen. Its just hard talking them out of Bose, since they think Bose is so good, but luckly the sound does most of the convincing.
  22. Yamahas come with a 2 year warranty. The best buy warranty for $29 bucks adds 4 years too that, making it 6 years total for $29. Bestbuy does cover blown speakers. If you blown them, bring them in and get a new set. Manufacturers do not cover blow speakers usually, and you have to go through the hassel of finding/shipping to a repair shop. Speakers, big screens, and laptops are the 3 things in Bestbuy that the warranty is almost a no brainer.
  23. A) You can get in trouble for sharing employee pricing or posting around like this. You don't have to wait 30 days for accomdation deals. C)Its not really 60% off if you do the math. Some stuff is 50%, some is more than 60%. D) The wharfdale and JBL accomdation are VERY nice. I'm probably going to get some JBLs, as they offer all their speakers, not just the bottom of the line stuff. So you can get some higher end JBLs that easily outperform the Synergy series, for a great price.
