  1. I never considered the nurses. Perhaps we could take up a retirment fund for them. How many do you think we need to "retire"?
  2. I would tend to agree with that. One could tell by his original posts that he wasn't your typical Newby asking questions. That's why I told him to use 2 AM clock radio's.
  3. I'm off this week and was looking forward to posting today, but the wife had other ideas involving the mall....I lucked out it looks like!
  4. I'll not show my collection of 2008 bic pens that came packaged 100 to a pack for $9.99....I don't want to make you jealous!
  5. HarryO, Prayers and well wishes form NC. Get well soon brother! Michael, thanks for the post!
  6. Welcome Dmannnnnn! I have the DeanG crossovers and I can give them blazing thumbs up in my RF-7's! I didn't do them myself, I sent them to Dean. You'll get it right! Phil
  7. Seadog, Nice boat! What is the make and size. I was going to buy one this summer but was served a dose of reality in the stock market this year. Boat dream went bye-bye! Maybe next year.
  8. Good luck in you're quest. We're happy with ours! It's your money....After more thought, I stick by my original idea of two Emerson Clock Radios set to an AM channel of your liking! You now have $4,980 left over.
  9. We were working in the bonus room last night and I was playing my Reference system. Again, for lower volumes their OK. Cranked up they ROCK. Lower volumes I like the heritage lines and higher volumes I like the referance line.
  10. Off the cusp, does anyone have an idea what it will cost to intsall a 21 x 16 drop ceiling? The grid work is really what I'm after as I'll most likely buy the tile myself as I want something nice if I'm doing this. Yeppers, what I wanted to do is simply too complicated and may look bad as theire are several different "elevations" in the ceiling.
  11. Where's the Whisky? Any "critical" drinking includes a good 18 year old Whisky....You can never trust the "Underlord" to have good Whisky...
  12. Hmmmmm, my wife's Jewish, I've not thought of that angle Fenderbender!
  13. KLF-20's, from the options left. Of course, that's just me. I have/had forte II's, KLF-20's, and RF-7's. The RF-7's are gone...so....
  14. Came to a conclusion tonight. It's got to be a drop ceiling. I know I can get some nice looking tiles, so that's what I'll do. My thoughts were simply way to time consuming and complicated.
  15. I listen to metal as well, from time-to-time. I have had the KLF-20's, RF-7's, and frote II's, My fovorite speaker between these for metal would be the RF-7's. They have amazing bass, and are less harsh than a 3-way speaker....(harsh isn't a ggod discription). My RF-7 crossovers have been modified by DeanG as well. Of course, for those puppy's, amplification is the key! At lower listening volumes, I think the 3-way forte II's sound much better. Good luck to you! PS - Forget my comment on the 2 AM radio's. On further consideration I don't feel this is a viable option anymore.
  16. No problem! I'm most likely going to get it, just cause. The bids just aren't where they should be for this one and what the heck.
  17. Speaking of itchy fiberglass, we just bought this home and the heating system's don't evenly disperse. I took fiberglass and shoved some into the vents (no dampers on them up top) which helped a TON, but the heating and air guy commented that we'll have itchy fibers blowing into the room, Their sending two guys out tonight to adjust the dampers under the house for each room.
  18. Thanks again guys. I'll read more on this from the sites posted. I've not thought of landscaping fabric....thats a very interesting concept! Another thing I thought about is accoustic foam lengths that are cut and placed in between the joists thus covering the fiberglass. Again, I need to read up on room treatments and sound waves, so to speak. I would like to post pictures sometime this weekend, but the last few I've tried to download here, don't load.
  19. Groomy, Damn nice living room! I totally thought the same thing about the Christmas tree and the speaker. Looks like the tree's a little scared!
  20. Not sure I want to use 1.2's. Some folks have commented how good they sound though. Currently I don't know what I'll use. The price was so low on the KLF that I simply had to bid. 5.1 (5.2) (Dolby) is fine with me, so would 6.2, or even 7.2
  21. Natas, theres a KLF-C7 on ebay for local pickup in Chapel Hill. I'm the high bidder, but if you want it I'll back out and pick it up and you could pick it up in Danville...just a thought. I'ts supossed to be a rocking Center, and I bid on it for a rear speaker. Take it if you want it.
  22. Ditto! The forte II's seem like you have a dang sub in the room with you.
