  1. Im not totally newbie when it comes to different amps. I've tried ; NAD C372, Vincent SV236, Midgard Audio MA 6.1 (2x600W), Rotel (don't remember model number), Electrocompaniet AW70, Mcintosh MC275.. But I don't have any experience when it comes to surround amps. That's why I wanted to hear some opinons on different surround receivers you run on your Klipsch's Anyways, as mentioned in the thread, I guess Im better of waiting until true HDMI is out on all receivers (True DD/DTS etc) - so I will put it on hold for a little longer. PS: My greatest hifi@experience so far, is with the Mcintosh MC275 on some RF7s.. It was simply AMAZING, no matter what music we played, it sounded SO NICE! The mids and heights was simply godlike, - not to mention the 'punch' from the bass.. ! That was my first tube experience btw.. When I get a new receiver in the near future, - I will definately add some seperate power amplifier (tube perhaps) for my mains.. if I have the money for it
  2. I've used the DVD 25 and my PC mostly.. I just purchased a Squeezebox, so I basically just listen to music through that now (lossless. - Btw, the squeezebox improved SQ a lot, over the DVD 25)
  3. Hey I've had a H/K AVR5550 (7x75W) and a H/K DVD25 for quite some time now. My current speakers are: RF5s (front), RC7 (center), RS25 (surrounds) and Tannoy Mercury MX1 or something (surrounds). DIY Sub When watching movies, it sounds great. I usually don't get any sharp "SSsssss" at dialogues. And the effects on movies sounds great. On concerts; Well, I don't know why.. but I never get those sharp "Sssssssssss" there either. I can play them SO LOUD, still it sounds great! (At least most of the time) And then we have 2 channel music. It sounds wonderful here also, - but not if I turn the volume up HIGH. I often get ear bleeding SSSSss then. Im just wondering what receiver you guys are using for your Klipsch speakers... and if you are happy with that receiver on your speakers.. and what is your listening habits (as in, do you play music/movies LOUD, or at more moderate volumes). If I were to upgrade my receiver, I would consider these brands: Denon, Marantz, Rotel, Arcam, H/K. Or some other brand, if you have some great experiences with it.
  4. I have a pair of Klipsch SP-1 and a KSW 12. Im not sure if they are set up for best-performance.. From my Subwoofer-out on my receiver (NAD T741) I have a cable to the LFE IN on the right front. And from the LFE OUT I have a cable to LFE IN on the other front (left) - and on the LFE OUT my KSW12 is connected (Im not using a Y-link on the KSW 12 anymore). I think the set-up is really great now! But there is only one little problem: When I turn down the volume on the subwoofers (through the receiver) - it doesnt help much (still too much bass!) When I only had the KSW connected through the receiver, it was no problem to adjust the volume on the subwoofer.. but now that I have 3 subwoofers connected...! And... Is this the ultimate way to connect the SP-1's ? (My fronts are now "SMALL" - And I must say.. connecting those Sp-1's with LFE-signals really gave the speakers new life..! MUCH better bass - and I even think they sound better now (Yes.. my psyche ) There is a knob behind each SP-1 - I have that 12 o'clock - on both fronts.. And btw: I love my Klipsch speakers!
  5. USparc: Thx for your help I have performed the little "operation", and the humming is lower now. But it's still a weak hum there. Net-filter will take care of that, perhaps. I also noticed that the internal-cabling was with thin cables.. Maybe it would be a little tweak to change the "standard" cables with some cables of better quality? hmm
  6. I'll unscrew the connection panel tomorrow. I really hope the problem will be solved by doing that.. Or else.. A filter... hm! Btw: Thx for the replies ppl
  7. It's from the port. Do you think it would be easy for me to fix the problem myself? (I have no more warranty if I do?)
  8. The subwoofer is already in a corner.. And I dont have more corners to place it in. Hehe. I will go to the place where I bought the subwoofer, and listen to another KSW12 (check if it humms) - if it doesnt humm, ill just change.
  9. The sub is humming even when it is not connected to the receiver.. so it is not a problem with the receiver or the cable im using from the subwoofer->receiver. The humming is there - always (if the power is "ON" - it humms). And no - im not using a cable TV. In most movies I notice the damn humming (for instance.. if you are watching a scary movie - then it is usually many "quiet" moments.. then you hear the damn annoying humm..). The question is: Is the KSW12 supposed to make a weak humm-noise? Im sitting right next to the sub.. so perhaps I should try to move the subwoofer another place - away from the place im sitting... hmmm
  10. I just bought a KSW12, and it's humming. I was wondering.. What might be the problem? (After a little search on the forum, it seems like many people have had problems with humming - I didnt find any solutions on the problem though). As long as the power-cord is connected, it humm's all the time. (It doesn't matter if it is set to "On", "Off" - or if I pull out the RCA-cord). My KSW12 = 230V. Suggestions on what to do? (Should I change the KSW12 with another KSW12..or something)
  11. I got a good deal on the KSW12. And that's why I ended up buying it. Many have recommended that I should buy a Reference Sub.. But the Reference subs are like 4 times more expensive than the KSW series. Klipsch is so damn expensive here in Norway
  12. Im thinking of buying a Klipsch KSW 12. I will use it for my Home Theater System. But im a little sceptical. The KSW 12 goes down to 26hz (-3db) .. 90db w/25hz.. Or something.. How deep should a subwoofer go? And the KSW 12 is only 16kg!!! Will it bounce if I play loud then? Lol. (A Marble plate on top of it would do the trick?) I had a look at audioreview.com - and more than 150 people have rated the KSW 12..And it almost have a top-rating! That's very impressive..
  13. I have a pair of SP-1, and I think they are great. Music/movies have never been more fun! Even though there is a lot of bass, I use a seperate subwoofer when I watch movies (the subwoofer goes deeper than the Sp-1's). A friend of mine also bought a pair of SP-1 after he heard them at my place. He loves the speakers as well
