I was speaking of just a pair of A7's with passives. With your setup with added subs and PEQ's they are no longer Vanilla A7's. So yeah, in that case they would be great. Good midbass horn and midrange horn mega tweaked is not the same thing I heard. My first pair of serious speakers I built at 20 contained $1,000 (6,500 in today's dollars) worth of Altec drivers. 500B, 808-8a, 428H in big vented cab, and EV super tweeters. No short horn, tho, like the A7, but they sounded great flat to 38 Hz.
Believe that would be the 511B

This hobby is definitely an art. No argument that you can build a nice sounding less expensive system in a good sounding room and be very happy.
What concerns me sometimes is the gushing threads over a chip amp that costs less than a night out with my wife. Then, a few months later the truth comes out. If I had to choose some "budget" amplification I would immediately go to the DIY amp builder guys. I know what I could find among them.

I dig the Fisher X-100 it is one of the best vintage I've owned. Once mine was restored it sounded amazing and very stable. Didn't hurt it was full of mullard tubes. I believe there were many different versions of the 100 and 500.
Fisher fan as well

When I bought this preamp several years ago, the seller had misplaced the manual. I have found some info that is useful from Google, but sure would like a real manual, if anyone knows of a download version, or would be willing to make copies, would be much appreciated!

Sorry for double......
Have used a Peach ll for years. The manual is preamp 101. Only 7 pages

Outside dimensions are 35.75 x 25.25 x 16.25; inner dimensions are 34.25 x 23.75 x 14.25 = 11591 cubic inches = 6.7 cubic feet = 190 Liters. Some of that is taken up by the port and the drivers.

nor do i. they fall from my lips at time; but RARELY in front of others. Actually, I think profanity is the most UNATTRACTIVE characteristic in a woman. on my turn off list number one is cursing and a CLOSE number 2 is smoking.
I think profanity is disrespectful in that it shows an unwillingness to communicate to the listener in a respectful manner. Makes me laugh to see someone using curse words while calling another dumb or uneducated and I want to say "yet you weren't smart enough to string together words that accurately reflect your thoughts without using profanity and you're calling them dumb." maybe that's why I have few friends?
I read once that that men curse so that they don't put their fist through drywall ????

Wow, so sorry to here. I haven't been on in months with the passing of my father in January as well. Does anyone know if the business is still going?
RIP Bob, you will be missed.
I really miss Bob.
In the early forum days we both had great fun giving each other a hard time. Bob making fun of my lac of length (at 5'7) and me his age. However he wasn't much older than myself. Bob was a smart biz man. He saw and filled gaps for Klipsch lovers. Repairing drivers, new drivers, woofers, and upgrading networks.
Cost effective products, service and shipping second to none. But I always drove down there for pickup just to see what he was up to.
RIP Bob

Very dependent on the actual variety. Grocery store jalapenos could come from anywhere, you never know. And, they are picked very early which is not great for heat or flavor development. Peppers do pretty well in containers, so go to a good nursery and pick out a couple of nice plants.
Thanks

I love the ghost chilies. If one can get over the heat they have a wonderful flavor.
I cook a Mexican dinner once a week and grill Jalapenos with it. The heat in them is very inconsistent. Some are like spicy Bell Peppers and some are real burners.
Can anyone tell ? the size, time of year , or scent???

I love the Scotch Bonnet sauce I've had in the Caribbean. It is difficult to have a hot sauce that is also tastey but they do a great job.
Pineapple, Mango, Scotch Bonnets, garlic and mustard

there is a DISTINCT difference in the sound quality of Klipsch equipped commercial theaters over those theaters using different brands... and the difference isn't subtle either.
Huge difference......

This is an important comment for me. I have multiple two channel systems and every one uses a tube preamp. Some use solid state amps and a couple use tube amps. I found I achieved the type of tube sound I am looking for from the preamps much more so than the amps. That's just me.
Not that I am not interested in those awesome looking mono-blocks...........But I was going to say to you that I would be interested in your preamp once it's built. To be honest much more interested in the preamp given it has the parts that elevate the sound of that old circuit. 😃
A tube front end is the ticket for me as well

Bruce,
Not on the forum much anymore. Just saw that you had surgery. You are lifted in prayer......
You are one of the good ones !
I too am 73 and have had some problems. To ask a question that "might be getting personal" really sucks! Classless ***.
