  2. I wonder if OB ment to type chorus ll's for sale. there is a pair of chorus ll's for sale over in the home theater area.
  3. i beleive the fortes on e-bay are the same ones on craigslist out of haverhill mass. i think the pics are the same.
  4. these forte's have been on the list for a few months now off and on. originally 650.00 i think. they are just about 10 minutes away from me and i they keep tempting me. how would they be compared to 1978 vintage heresy's i have now? what are the differences between forte l and ll? from my reading the forte ll seem to be preferred over the forte l's.
  5. there are these here, dont know seller or if their available still. http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/ele/338077243.html good luck!!
  6. E-mailed the seller today for the hell of it to see if they are still available. he replied that all four are sold and being picked up today. anyone from here get them?
  7. Hello Tim, You can inform this guy that i'm (gigbyt) not going to bite on these for 750.00 if you'd like. There are too many variables in these speakers for my limited experience. Plus he flat out LIED to me about the lineage!!!. he was quite surprised actually when i pointed out the serial number stamped into the cabinet and showed him the print out of the date codes and that they were 32 years old! not fifteen as he had just told me. Oh and just a bit more info on these, they are stored outdoors under a shoddy looking tarp on small concrete area outside his apartment, so they are exposed to the weather.
  8. the crossovers have AA on the side. the metal edging looks like it was added later ,not factory. inside the doghouses where he couldnt reach to paint anymore the color of the wood is black.
  9. I would definately go look at them first. the edging could be popped off easily its only brad nailed on. the cabinets do look to be in pretty good shape but with the way the paint is gobbed on in some spots it hard to tell if its maybe covering a chip or gouge. After giving these some thought im going to pass on them, they look like they could be a lot of work with the way the crossovers look and the old wiring. And he did initially lie to me about being the original owner and then when i pointed out their manufacture date he changed his story. plus there was no way to test them at his place, who knows if they work or not. I just don't know enough about lascala's (drivers, crossovers, etc) to make a good informed decision as to the operation of these speakers. You should go take a look.....
  10. Heres another deal for forte II's from craigslist. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/ele/329568998.html
  11. Ok, so i just got back from veiwing these speakers and they are painted in an ugly (to me) blue latex color. the serial #stickers are painted over but the cabinets are stamped with 3n890/3n891//3n893. he didnt have one of the speakers there, 3n892 i think. so i just assumed that it is stamped 3n892 as the other three are consecutive. from my klipsch date codes i believe these are 1975 vintage due to the N in the serial #. he first told me that he was original owner and that they were about 15 years old but when i pointed out that the serial # points to them being 1975 and 32 years old he then told me he inherited them from a family member and that the person was in a band. the cabinets do have a metal edging along all the edges and wheels attached on the bottoms and the cabinets do look to be in very good cond. i couldn't see any gouges or chips in them but its hard to tell completely with the way the paint was applied, its thick in some spots and has run in others. one of the speakers looks to have a different squakerr horn (midrange horn?)3n891). as the wires are not attached and the end of the horn does not have the spring loaded push in wire connectors as the others do. some of the wiring looks a bit dry rotted and one of the speakers has a beat up fuse holder. all of them have a phono type plug in the upper right hand corner on the rear of the cabinet. there doesnt appear to be any water damage to any of them.(we have had a lot of flooding issues in this area recently.) overall they look like they'd clean up really nice, i dont know if they work as he didnt have anything to connect them to but insisted they all work fine. i offered him 600.00 for a pair and was turned down. if i can sell my heresys right away i would have the additional dough to meet his price.
  12. I'm going to try to go take a look at these monday. im only about 15 minutes away! maybe someone could pm me the phone #? I'll post my impressions of them after seeing them.
  13. i've contacted seller thru e-bay and they informed me that they DID NOT send me a second chance offer and to report the e-mail to e-bay ,which i have done. gotta admit the offer was tempting ,my last bid was 337.00 and i would have loved to get these cornwalls for that price, LOL.
  14. How are e-bay second chance offers supposed to be handled? i received a second chance offer for the above item, sent to my personal e-mail address, i thought that they are supposed to go to" my messages" inbox on "my e-bay". is this correct? thanx in advance.
  15. should i have bid higher for these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110101940914&rd=1&rd=1 i'm feeling like i should have but am not sure. they are 1968 vintage.
  16. have you seen these? http://nh.craigslist.org/ele/292937281.html
  17. not 1000 but close, http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/ele/271951898.html
  18. Found these ,wish i had the dough but am tapped out at the moment. seems like a good deal and only 30 minutes from me, DAMN! http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/ele/271951898.html
  19. HERES ONE, http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/ele/266185452.html GOOD LUCK!
  20. SVS are great subs, but there are a lot of products from other companies coming out that look like good competition. AV123 will be selling a sub called the MFW-15 for 599.00 and two for 999.00 i think is what i read. this should be a very interesting comparison to SVS's 12 inch driver based subs. Can't wait to read the reviews.
