  2. Haha you guys are just way too funny!
  3. Actually I just bought an HDMI cable and a SPL meter. I hope to get it all hooked up and do some calibrating this weekend!
  4. I have a Yamaha Rxv-2600 reciever and a Sony XBR3 LCD 46 tv. I just finished hooking up my home theater and am trying to access the onscreen menu for the reciever. My question is to get this to come on my tv. What should I have hooked up? Would it be montior out(Hdmi) on the back of my reciever to the Hdmi IN on the back of my tv? Thanks for the help!![]
  5. thanks for your opinions, in previous systems I had always used optical. I am willing to try something new. I may go with coax this time, due to the fact that it cant be broken!
  6. Which one do you guys recommend to use for home theatre use? I am thinking of using the "Better Cables" name brand?
  7. Can anyone recommend a quaility surge protector for home theatre use? What are you using and experiences with the product. Please let me know. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for all your support, I am loving my new RT-12d, it rocks.
  9. I have the new RT-12d and it rocks. I used to own a RSW-12 and it beats it in the lower range hands down. If you get a chance to play with one, go on the digital menu and play the DEMO 2 and watch it shake the room.
  10. This is my first post since losing all of my ht since Hurricane Katrina. I did live in St. Bernard Parish, La my home recieved 9 ft. of flood water. But that was over a year ago, after living with in-laws and fema trailer for over a year, I have relocated my family and job to Lucedale, Ms. I should be safe from any flood waters here, but still close enough to my OLD home. I have found a hi-fi shop in Mobile that had RF-7s, RC-7, and Rs-7 all still with boxes and manuals in new condition for a price that I could not pass up! I added a Yamaha RXV-2600 reciever and a RT-12d sub that rocks. I am in the market shopping for the new 46" Sony Lcd XBR2 and DVD player. So anyhow still loving Klipsch and enjoying my new life in Mississippi. Lata[]

  12. Just wanted to wish everyone in my Klipsch family a Happy Holiday and also a Happy New Year.
  13. Klipsch speakers are very efficient, and don't need a crap-load of power to push. I would suggest the Klipsch Synergy series for budget systems, or try out ebay for quality epuipment. Also try out the end of the year gear for recievers out with the old in with new models, you can pick up last model for cheaper prices. Good Luck.
  14. just a thought? Do you think this can be coverd by any Klipsch warranty?[:'(]
  15. this is one of my rf5s - DESTROYED.
  16. this was my rsw - 12 sub. now destroyed
  17. I was allowed to go back to my house 4 weeks after the storm to see what I can could salvage if anything, and these are some pics. In this pic was where my home theater stood. The tv lying face down was my 36" XBR Wega. My house sustained water damage up to 9 feet. Insurance company claimed it as a total LOSS. So I will have to start all over, house and all.
  18. My wife and I thank you for the support, and Dylanl thanks for the offer, I will keep ya in mind when my new system is up and running. But for now i need to see what Allstate is going to do, and rebuild my house. This will take some time considering that everyone in Chalmette had the same amount of floodwater in their houses. Here is a pic of my community after the levee busted. My house is about 1 mile from here. And YES those are rooftops visible in the picture. Later.
  19. Not sure if anybody posted a thread about losing anything Home theater or stereo, due to Hurricane Katrina. I live in Chalmette, Louisiana about 10 south of New Orleans. Yes, that is the side that one of the levees broke on, unleashing the Intercoastal waterway into the parish. I will be able to return home on Friday Sept.30. I will try to salvage whatever I can if anything, last I had heard from a friend who was on a rescue mission, was in a boat going down my street and he said all he could see was my rooftop(about 9 to 10 feet of water). I am grateful that I did evacuate before the storm, cause my life is more important, everything else can be replaced. I will definitely post pics of the devastation to my house and neighborhood, and also to my Klipsch theater system. I will update post at later date. Later!
  20. thanks for the input, I will swap out speakers and see if its the amp or speaker itself. Any know where or how much I can a new woofer for?? if indeed thats the problem.
  21. Hello my dad owns a pair of Klipsch RP-5s. Question being that when playing a music source through it the sub crackles only at one sub, the other doesn't. Does this mean a "blown" sub. My dad was messing with gains on speaker and thinks he may have done it. For those who dont know what the RP-5s are they are basically a rf-5 bookshelf and a powered 12" sub in a single cabinet, pretty awesome for the space-challenged living room. I took the sub out of cabinet and looked at it, should there be anything that I should be looking or smelling for? Please help, thanks! By the way the sub is #K-1087-K12.
  22. thanks for all responses, like I said already had them didn't want to spend more money
